[READ THE FULL STORY] BRASSY HAIR FOR $60, BURNT NECK HAIR

[ READ FULL STORY!! ] Going in, I filled the form that I had dry, sensitive skin - especially around my neck area. I repeated it to both the instructor and the student before doing my hair. They did a strain test and did not show me the strain nor did they show me any hair color palettes to compare color to. I repeated that I had eczema and sensitive scalp and no pretreatment was placed on my scalp prior to the bleach. When the bleach started to burn, I got up and tried to call out for the hair stylist, but she had already left to another room and didn't come back until closer to the time for the bleach was up. After she rinsed the bleach off, she tried to color my hair by placing the product straight to my scalp and it burned excessively. The student then shampooed and dried my hair - but turned my chair to the side so I couldn't see the full damage. I asked if there was anything that could be done to fix the color, but she said the ammonia was too high and she couldn't color nor tone anything. I was left with this horrible, brassy color. I didn't realize until I got into the car... But the hairs on my neck were completely BURNED OFF. The entire back of my neck was hairless and burned off from the bleach and lack of attention by the student and teacher. The teacher was busy with another customer and did not instruct the student throughout the process, nor checked on me. The original price guesstimate was $100 for bleach/color hair that was short/shoulder length. After no attempts was made to fix the hair, they adjusted the price to $60. I was really disappointed about the whole process, considering the Google and Yelp reviews. They have incentives written in the store for free hair cuts or hair treatment for reviews on both platforms, so don't be deceived. I'd also like to say I knew I wouldn't be able to go from virgin black hair to platinum blonde in one session. It takes a lot for the hair to lift and I understand that it'll take time for the hair to shift to the opposite color. Knowing this, I was still frustrated there was no alternative products nor attempts to resolve my concerns. My main issue is the burned skin and lack of instructor oversight on the whole process. So learn from my mistakes, pay the cost for a real professional to do your hair or you'll spend another $120, just to fix someone else's mistakes.

Vanessa Baca is simply professional at what she does. I recieved a lovely Facial accompanied by getting my hair done and to top it off she finished with beautiful makeup. Definitely coming back soon!

Love my red highlights! Fantastic job!

I went to get a haircut, root touch up and highlights and I I was very impressed with the service and excellent stylist. The salon was clean, well lit and made you feel comfortable when you first walk in. The individual seats are well spaced apart and the stylist wore her mask. I showed my stylist a picture of what I hope to get and they (her instructor, stylist, and her helper) went right to work! Please note coloring is a long process and requires a lot of patient. I was there for nearly 3.5hrs. My stylist was sweet and was very thorough and didn't cut corners, she made sure every gray was covered and each highlight was the correct size I requested. Honestly, I feel they were better than most of the salons I've been to. The chemical they used didn't stink and it lifted the dark hair into the color I wanted. I am very pleased with the results! I highly recommend this place and will go there again!

First visit.... I had the pleasure of receiving hair services from Kareena. I'm an African American female with natural hair...chemical free for 10 years.. our hair is very challenging. Kareena took the challenge like a champ and got my hair very straight.i hate we did not take a before picture. However I do have a picture of the finish product

Listen where to even begin The main guy who teachers…read moreeverybody to do haircuts can't even cut hair himself. I asked for a fade on the side and he didn't even blend in the guidelines. My job starts in 3 days and I look like a raccoon the way u can see every line. Would definitely NOT recommend stay away from the bald guy with glasses. Basically the man instructing them wants everything done himself do NOT go here because u will get a bad men's haircut go to your usual barber trust me.

Finally stopped crying long enough to write this review. My husband helped me take photos of the…read moredamage so you can judge for yourself. I walked in a strawberry blonde and walked out with blotches and stripes of red, green, ash and brown. I have to say the girls were very sweet and worked hard to get it right. The problem was the man instructing them. He handled all the dye mixes. Even when the girls and I knew the process has gone wrong, he kept insisting it was just some red in my scalp. I held up strands of my hair with a red blotch at the root, a streak of bleached blonde, and another of copper, and told him that's not scalp. I should have walked out then. Instead I let him mix up two more batches of dye, one to tone down the red splotches and another to tone down the bleachy streaks. You can see the result. The girl next to me fared no better. She kept saying how bright yellow her hair was and asking if it would darken up. The whole thing was a horrifying experience made worse by the condescending and arrogant instructor. If he had even once acknowledged there was a problem, I would have thought it was a fluke mistake. But he kept saying it was fine and that it would tone down after a couple of washings. The girls in the shop knew better. I had strands of hair with hard verticals stripes of colors not found in nature. There was nothing soft and subtle about it. I knew they felt terrible, but it was really out of their hands. I asked one of them if they would walk in to a job interview with this hair ( I have one scheduled), and she sadly shook her head. I hope my experience helps prevent others from making the same mistake. I was betting on the five star reviews, and learned the hard way. Tomorrow I go to a professional design studio to see if they can do anything to repair the damage.

I was passing thru ATL last week in need of some basic economical "Me" maintenance. Y'know: Hair…read moredone, Nails Done, Everything Done -- but on a traveling through budget? My hairdresser and usual nail salon were milles away. Plus I just hadn't taken time out for myself prior along with y'know, the whole Covid thing going on. This place was taking Walk Ins as well. Took me 2 days to complete due to scheduling conflicts but well worth it. First day I was greeted by the receptionist who was super nice and professional named Ashley. She kept me informed of wait times, prices and was very pleasant throughout. Next up was my barber Ms. Laura. She was also a Supervisor. She was fabulous. Totally knowledgeable of hair textures and barbering Techniques. Thank goodness bcuz I got that water and grease hair that can be difficult at the best of times, LOL. Fun Fact: Ms. Laura Little is also a Stand Up Comedian, Hostess, and Emcee in her off time. So you can get a fresh cut and book her for your next event too! Talk about a multi-tasker!! The following morning I went back to get my pedicure. Ms. Noi Nail Tech in training is off to a great start. She was knowledgeable and precise, very personable and attentive. When she gets her own shop one day she's going to be formidable. Now. One downside was Ms. Max. She's a supervisor there who came to inspect Ms. Noi's progress after she had completed the massage and moisturizer portion of the pedicure. Not before. When she came over, there was no greeting she just stated my toe nails were deformed. And that if she had looked at my feet before that she would have refused service. Look. I'll be the first to admit I've got weird looking toe nails (they slant weirdly in opposite directions..thank you military boots) but I took umbrage at her careless remarks especially since I saw no Podiatrist Certification hanging up anywhere. I'm totally aware that these are students and would not have minded if she had completed a foot examination on every client as they took off their shoes/sandals and socks. But that wasn't the case. So she gets 3 stars due to lack of consistency. All in all this Beauty School is gonna become my go to when I pass through and I'm looking forward to great things from these students and staff in the future.

Please read if you're interested in the NAIL TECHNOLOGY program. This school is a huge waste of…read moremoney. Attached is a photo of the nail kit you receive. You are paying over $3,000 for tuition and receive a $8 SHEIN nail kit. Not only is this the cheapest nail kit they could give us, but you're NOT allowed to use it for your practice. The tools provided are only for providing the school with your free labor. If you don't believe me, the SHEIN kit is proudly on display in the front area. Not only is the school cheap, the clients are disgusting. You will be doing pedicures on people who likely haven't washed their feet in the last three months. If you refuse to service them you will be clocked out and sent home. When it comes to sanitation and hygiene the school is lacking. I had to consistently ask for barbercide to sanitize my tools. They removed it from the floor and apparently "just rinsing the pedicure tub with soap and water" is good enough. Their autoclave doesn't work either. Attached is a photo of a desolate barbercide container and lack of sani spray bottle. It's likely the client floor will look like this on the daily. As far as a learning experience everything you do will be self-taught. The teachers do demos occasionally, but not often enough for you to build actual repetitions or confidence. It doesn't matter if you're confident or not. They made me take clients before I reached 150 hours. As far as my individual experience there is 0 consistency. They changed teachers on us mid semester, then changed school locations, then changed the dates and times you need to be in class. If you are just getting a license and want a cheap school this is the place for you. If you're a true beginner who knows nothing about nails, RUN.

Two weeks later we're told we have a new instructor just for the second day another family emergency occurs with her which isn't her fault. However the following day everyone is waiting outside the locked doors 15 minutes after class was supposed to start because no one's there! No lights, doors locked, no one was answering our calls, no emails or a heads up, nothing! Our class of 25 dropped to 8 that following week because the lack of unprofessionalism and communication was absurd. The one saving grace out of this school was our instructor Miss Terri. She went above and beyond making sure we weren't behind on our course due to the inconveniences that occurred that disrupted our learning days. She was patient, understanding, and lit up the classroom with her lively energy. If it wasn't for her I think the course would've been postponed again for god knows how long until they found another teacher on short notice, she saved my time and made sticking through the struggles worth it. I couldn't be more grateful but besides that I would not recommend. The lack of communication was terrible from the people in charge and even though Google reviews has a high rating (god knows how) I recommend going somewhere else for these kind of certifications. Yes it might cost a bit more but trust no low price is worth the headache and uncertainty.
