Salon Rouge is consistently awesome. I've been coming here since middle school. Every time I'm back in the Buffalo area, I come in for a cut. Andrew does a great job with my thick and curly hair. He thins it out and gives it structure. I am always happy with the cuts that I get. He'll also straighten it after my cut, so I love how it looks right after. I've gotten color here once. I got purple and teal undertones. The color was on point, and I haven't experimented with color since. Overall, I recommend this salon and haircuts done by Andrew, the owner. read more

Today I took a very big step for me: trying a new stylist / salon that isn't the one I have been going to for 15 years. With everything closing for the COVID-19 outbreak, my usual salon closed early last week. As a faux blonde, it's important that I get my roots touched up every 4-6 weeks, to avoid getting a yellow band at my root. Today, I trusted Andrew at Salon Rouge to help me touch my hair up before salons closed indefinitely. Andrew, and his staff, are extremely professional and sweet. My hair does not want to be as blonde as it is and my scalp is extremely sensitive to most dye. He made the process super fast and took extra time to make sure my scalp wasn't burning and that I was comfortable. Along with taking care of my root needs, he took time to apply THREE different toners to my hair, to make it as equal looking as possible. I'm so thankful to have met a stylist so detail oriented, outside of my go-to girl! Pricing was also extremely fair. I've been seeing Andrew for the past couple of years while Marie P. and I have been working in New York. He's been doing her hair for years. Andrew has always done a great job and I get lots of compliments on my hair. He has taken a number of continuing education classes to learn how to use hair color and developed a way to manipulate semi-permanent color so that it lasts permanently on my hair - he can even do colors that don't often last long like blue. My cut is always great and he usually does my eyebrows (dying and waxing) as well while I wait. I never really enjoy taking time off to get my hair done since with my hair it always takes so long, but the folks here make it tolerable. I'm a big fan! read more

I find that kind of activity not only distasteful but also an embarrassment to the Yelp community. I have been a client of Salon Rouge for over 10 years. The owner is extremely knowledgable and an expert not only in hair styling but also in color and make up. He is sought out by photographers on a regular basis to work his magic. He believes in continuing education and regularly attends workshops and master classes locally and nationally. It is probably for this reason that Salon Rouge has been recognized in Buffalo Spree for being one of the best in Buffalo. Finally, Andrew is not only talented, he is a nice guy. He has high expectations for those who work with him and really does his best to make sure that the clientele receives the care and attention they deserve. read more

This was hands down one of the most expensive and worst experiences in my life . First I only went there to get my hair white blonde instead of the warmer blonde I have except my roots which were darker - that's it no cut or anything ; so first it was over 150 dollars and my hair turned out to be like neopolitan ice cream the roots were white the middle was yellow and the ends were greenish - this terrible result took 4 plus hours - the hair stylist I had did not listen to the boss and used a toner she thought would work best which didn't obviously , the hair stylist also pressured me to dye my hair lavender - all in all the hair stylist was awful, they overcharged me, the color was horrible and I wanted to cry after the experience . I have been going to Andrew at Salon Rouge for almost 10 years now, and they are great! I have naturally curly hair and he always not only how to cut it so it will look shapely and be easy for me to maintain, but also recommends the best products. He continues to expand his knowledge with classes and workshops , and I feel like I could ask him about anything hair related and he'd be able to advise. I tried to give this place a chance, I needed a place to get some eyebrow waxing done and decided on this business because it was so close to where I live. the first time I went, Lauren did my eyebrows and she was very good, and I was pleased. When I went back a few weeks later, she was busy with another client so the owner, Andrew, did it that time. Not as good as Lauren's job, but I decided to give him another chance before I started searching for another place. The next two times I went, I had him again and each time he did a worse job than the time before. The fourth and final time I went there, he did such an atrocious job on my brows that I didn't need to get them waxed for about a month and a half because I needed to let them grow back in! I've since found a much better place with much more competent employees. I've only ever gone to Salon Rouge for waxing services, but if their haircuts are anything like that, then stay away. read more
