I have coarse and deathly black Asian hair and have been trying to go silver for forever (3 bleach sessions), as result of that my hair is kind of a sh*t show - I have this weird gold / purple / platinum hair and it's a mess. I was in town for a wedding and need to get my hair corrected. The original salon I booked screwed me on my appointment and in a moment of panic I found Rosalee through yelp - and damn was I lucky to have found her! She is legit the best, and such an interesting person and talented colorist. I booked the wrong service (noob on my part) and she couldn't do my hair in the timeframe we had, so she went out of her way and booked me super early the next morning because she wanted to make sure we had enough time to fix my hair the right way. She was patient with me and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and really made me feel like she had my best interest in mind. In the end she did a spectacular job saving my hair color, she managed to take out almost all the gold / uneven colors and got me lighter, and on top of that the blended roots looked way more natural and will be easier to maintain in the future. I was impressed with my sister's hair color (red balayage) after she went to Rosalee so I scheduled a balayage appointment with Rosalee too. I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly, within 3 days. When I got there, she sat down with me and really listened to what I wanted while also giving suggestions. Turned out, I wanted highlights not balayage. Rosalee was really knowledgeable and super sweet. We decided to do some lighter highlights among the subtle highlights. The whole process took about 3 hours. I went home not really liking the lighter parts surrounding my hair so I texted Rosalee the next day and she fit me in the following day with no questions asked. She darkened the few pieces, and then my hair was exactly what I wanted. I LOVE my hair color now and I'm definitely coming back next time for color. I also love the ambiance of the salon. I have been on the hunt for a great stylist to cut my hair since moving here, and I have found one (finally!!!) in Rosalee! I have long, thin, straight hair. I am also in the process of growing out very damaged hair from a bleach out while trying to keep my hair growing long for my wedding. Rosalee listened to what I wanted, the story with my hair, how much I hated my last cut (from another salon) and made recommendations.....she gave me the best cut I have had in a really long time, maybe the best ever. Rosalee is the owner of the small 2 chair salon. It will likely only be you in the salon since she can't work on 2 people at once so you'll feel like a total celeb getting personal attention. She has great products that she uses and sells, but she will not push product on you unless you ask. As the only person you'll interact with at her salon, Rosalee is also really kind and easy to talk to, making that awkward silence during your cut non-existent. I highly recommend Rosalee. Just when I lost hope in finding an established hair colorist that can do wonders on Pacific Islander / Asian hair (usually a difficult level 1-2 base) I find this miracle worker. I'm so pleased with the results! LOCATION & PARKING 4/5 Salon Rosalee functions inside Rebelle by Tootsie. It's in Northwest Denver in a nice area called Columbia Heights. It reminds me of Belmont Shore in Long Beach, CA. Surrounded by restaurants and shops, people rubbernecking as they drive by, locals leisurely walking their pooch and deciding which restaurant to dine at - this would be perfect for a sunny afternoon stroll. It was difficult to see the numbered address while driving by, but if you look for a black & pink storefront then you've found it. 8) If you're fortunate, street parking is available for up to 2 hours out front. So you'll need to set your phone alarm/timer on. Parking enforcement are sticklers supposedly so this was something I didn't want to chance. With foils and cape on, I was able to move my vehicle just before my 2hrs was up to a residential street w no time restrictions behind the salon as recommended by Rosalee. ATMOSPHERE & AMBIANCE 5/5 Upon arriving directly from the airport, I was welcomed by the friendly receptionist as I stepped into the warm and inviting ambiance. The mid morning sun brightened up the salon naturally. Arriving just a few minutes before my appt gave me a moment to freshen up in the back before Rosalee came out. CUSTOMER SERVICE 5/5 Rosalee's service and business ethics are stellar. She's super sweet, personable, and trustworthy. She has the credentials, experience, portfolio and online images to back it up. Along with real positive reviews by other satisfied patrons. I've found my go-to hair stylist and colorist! I enjoyed our conversation as we share similar upbringings and life experiences that we were able to talk openly about and could identify on so many levels w each other. My do was way overdue. Yes, I researched and found her in advance so I knew who I was allowing to touch my long locks. And it wasn't going to be just any stylist. Rosalee is a pro. She first asked me what I'd like to have done, I shared what I'm considering and preference in length, she examined my hair thoroughly, offered suggestions and her honest opinion for the health of my hair. And since I don't like surprises when it comes to finances I inquired on what the cost would be, and she didn't hesitate to calculate it in advance for me. Nor did she nickel and dime me. Her prices are reasonable considering the quality work and products used. In 2hrs & 45mins she worked her magic and I could not have been more delighted with the outcome.
