Starling is my happy place. I was in need of a glow up and I came out of Starling looking like a million bucks yesterday. My hair went from kind of boring to truly a work of art now. I've been going to Hallie for a few years now and she is a creative genius, a master of her craft. I had never dyed my hair, just balayage once or twice previously with her. I prefer to keep my hair low maintenance. She's eased me into dying my hair and assured me I could dye it and keep it relatively low maintenance. Now, I have the most perfect red ombre look that goes from my natural color down to copper. Even with the balayage I've dabbled with, Hallie has helped me keep my hair so healthy and strong. Best hair treatment and cut ever. I never knew my hair could be so soft and luxurious. I have long wavy/curly hair and in the past it has been hard to get a cut without looking like a mushroom head afterward at other salons. But Kayla did an AWESOME job, and took great care of me. This has been my go-to salon since I moved to the area in 2019. I have gone to Aveda salons for probably a decade, because I like the products and the service (scalp massage, aroma "journey", tea offered, etc) and so I keep looking one up wherever I move. My stylist Sara has been wonderful. She looks out for me and my choices surrounding cuts, layers, bangs (No!) and instilled trust enough for me to explore color services - which I never did before. She specializes in blondes and fashion colors and has done amazing on my blondes. Maybe soon I'll take a leap into fashion colors! read more

I saw Amber and didn't feel listened to. The salon was also very cold temperature wise and not very aesthetically attractive to me.

I have been here twice before and the stylist was good. This time was not, I was not satisfied with the service given. My hair was not styled when I left and there was no real attempt to do anything with it. I have short hair, so it's really not that difficult to do. I'm not sure what happened this time, lack of styling made it a bit embarrassing to walk out. read more

wanted to love it. haircut isn't bad but I showed a couple photos of the haircut I wanted - they were pictures of me when I liked my hair, so I knew it was possible lol. I kept saying I wanted it shorter so I could spike it up. She said she would keep it longer for the first cut and then would check with me to go shorter, but as she was finishing the "initial" cut, she called over to her next client and said she'd be done in 5 minutes. I felt she rushed through my haircut because she was running late before I even arrived and repeatedly ignored when I said how short I wanted it. note: my hair was already short, just overgrown. The haircut is fine and mostly done well (the bangs don't sit quite right) but definitely not what I asked for. so disappointing because when I called to schedule, they specifically matched me with someone they said would do best with my short hair, and this was a rare splurge for me. read more

I haven't had a good haircut since 2019. I can finally say I'm happy with my hair after seeing Brianne. She was easy to chat with, and did a great job on my thick hair. I don't get my hair colored, so if you're looking for a review on that, move along. I have thick, straight hair. I wouldn't think it'd be that hard to cut but apparently it is. Brianne paid attention to that and did a nice job of thinning it out enough so that it moves again. Liked the salon space as well. It's big, full of windows, and welcoming. It's right across the street from Maria Empanada too, as a bonus. :) read more

I started seeing Brianne two years ago and I could not be happier. I don't think I have ever lasted more than a year with a hair stylist and I plan of staying here as long as they're willing to keep me. Very rarely do businesses try to fix things.. The days of it being cheaper to maintain a customer than to get a new one are fading. After a not so great haircut, I was very surprised when the owner called me and offered to fix my hair. I was even more surprised when she actually did fix my hair with how short it was and what she had to work with. Sonia blended my layers, balanced out the hair cut and completely changed the haircut. She also gave me product and tips on how to style it as it grows out. I will absolutely be returning in a month or two as my hair grows to continue to get it to where I want. Sonia gave me tips on what to do as it grows. It looks MUCH better and is even! I was pleasantly surprised with the rest of my experience. I'm impressed. read more
