I started getting pedicures here about a year ago. Linda is great! I have a physical disability that makes the whole process a little challenging but she has never been anything but accommodating and understanding. When shutdowns hit for Covid she checked in a couple of times to see how I was doing. When salons opened back up she shared the steps they were taking in order to keep the "spa" experience safe for everyone prior to asking me if I was ready to book an appointment. She also expressed understanding if I needed more time. I have seen her twice and have felt safe and comfortable on each occasion. read more

Came in with really extremely damaged rel hair, I had asked for it to be cut about an inch shorter (I had shoulder length hair at the time) and they completely buzzed the back and gave me some sort of pixie cut without touching the front half of my hair and blending it together. Very unhappy with my cut. They had colored by hair but not how I had asked. I don't remember the hair stylists name, she had long pinkish hair with bangs, but just overall wish I had went to another salon to get my hair fixed and looking healthy again. Was able to achieve better results at home. As an update weeks later, I was able to gain my soft hair back again and stop the breakage myself! No more salons for me. read more

I have very fine but thick hair and I usually just get a golden blonde highlight weave. The last salon I went to totally messed up my hair, reddish brown lowlights and white highlights. NOT WHAT I WANTED! After I was done freaking out I immediately searched hair salons in the Salem area. When I found Salon Redd and read all of the reviews I decided to give it a try. When I called to set up an appointment the girl on the phone was very kind and listened to my exact needs! She set me up with a girl who was very experienced in color weaving that could fix my hair the very next day!! When I came into the salon Tea was waiting for me! She was so kind and listened to my needs! She fixed my hair and took the red out in 2 hours! (Which I have long hair so that's record time!!!) She only charged me $55 which is incredible! Just moved to salem area and checked hair salon reviews on yelp and I have to agree that this salon was great. I made a call and was able to get in the next day with Mika. Since I was new I just asked for a trim, she did excellent job in making me feel comfortable and made my hair look beautiful. I made another appointment for hair color. I just got my haircut at Salon Redd and It's hands down the best haircut I've ever received for several reasons. First, I'll talk about the Salon itself. Salon Redd is the premier Salon in Salem, the state of Oregon, and likely the entire Nation. Part of why I say this is because of the aesthetic beauty of the venue. You walk in and are surrounded by happy, beautiful people, who are the most genuine people you'll ever meet. And then you see the interior design. The walls are flush with warm red and beige patterns and the stations themselves are inviting and impressive! Everywhere you look, the cabinets, shelves, chairs, everything is so nicely arranged and constructed that you feel as if you were transported to a high end salon in NYC or L.A. but it's even better! I would visit this place just to spend time in the magnificently crafted salon alone. Secondly, the haircut, and the owner. I was blessed to receive a haircut from Cindy, the owner of this establishment. Cindy is the most artistic, genuine, friendly hairstylist that I've ever met. She doesn't just talk to fill the silence, she actually cares about the people she works with. Her staff reflect her amazing charisma as well! Sitting and chatting with these fine people was one of the best experiences of 2015 alone! They're fantastically authentic. Very rarely can one find any business with REAL people offering genuine service with care. I love love love this salon. Every time I see my haircut I'm reminded of the amazing people that work here. Stopped in this salon on a whim based solely on Yelp reviews and was very happy that I did. They were able to taken me in without an appointment and saw me within ten minutes of my stepping in the door. The owner Cindy was friendly, accommodating, and made me feel very welcome. She seemed experienced and knowledgeable. Even if the salon itself was not up to par, I would definitely go back to see her. Fortunately, the salon was beautiful. Ashley is AMAZING!!! She did such a great job coloring my hair! It was a disaster when I came in, but she fixed it beautifully! I told her I wanted purple and something to break it up a bit, and she put some pink in my bangs and underneath and two different shades of purple. I could not be happier with the end result. Had a keratin process done with Melissa P. about 6 months back, was rushed through it and it was not on my hair for as long as it should've been. The worst is she charged me in full for a haircut that consisted of just trimming the ends and the hair cut took around 5 mins. Felt taken advantage of, you shouldn't charge for a full hair cut when you quickly snip the ends off, no layering no effort put in it literally just snipped ends. read more

This review is solely based upon customer service...I called on a Wednesday to schedule a haircut, I was surprised the gal had an availability for Saturday! Valentines day, I was sooo excited for my haircut, it's been over a year since my last cut! I give the gal my name and asked if she needed my number, she said no...should have been my first red flag. I thought it was weird, but hey, she got me in last minute. I get to the salon about 5 minutes before my appointment and one of the ladies working had to discontinue her foiling to help me. I didn't remember the name of the stylist so she had to run around the salon asking if anyone had an 11 am haircut with me (I should have written the stylists name down). After reviewing their appointment book she informed me of who my appointment was with and that she was not in yet. She directed me up the steps (nicely) where I waited for the next 20-25 minutes. No one checked on me. No one said anything. I felt like a weirdo sitting there staring at my phone watching the clock. Getting more upset by the minute. I was respectful enough to show up on time, so could the stylist. At the very least a courtesy call to her place of employment to state she was going to be late would have gone a long way. After 15-20 minutes beyond my original appointment time lapsed, I got up and walked out. Like a fart in the wind I completely disappeared without any other person working there noticing or saying anything. I left disappointed and upset. Then annoyed that the reason I chose this salon was yelp. Lol, the irony. Again this review has nothing to do with the haircut I received...because I never got one :( my time wasn't important enough. (I did not want to put the name of the stylist in the review...although I left disappointed, I would like to think what happened to me isn't the norm for her) read more

Got an appointment because of the good reviews here. I got the worst haircut I have ever gotten. One side of my hair was layered 2 inches shorter then the rest. I didn't notice until I got home and brushed my hair out. It was very noticeable. They did refund my money without any fuss which is nice. I really don't even know how someone could screw up hair that much. I paid a lot of money somewhere else to fix it which is not desirable. I don't like the haircut I was forced to get to fix their screwup, but it is better than it was. read more

I've had three haircuts at Salon Redd, and I've loved them all. Ask for Catherine T. She listens, gives advice when you ask for it, and is super creative. I went to her originally cuz I wanted to see how much curl I could bring up in my fine hair, and she had been recommended to me by a friend. She has amazing techniques for cutting that will make the most of your curls. I'm past the "i want curly" phase now and continue to go to Catherine because I like my hair every time -- plus she's fun. And if you're going to sit in a chair for an hour, it might as well be fun, yes? read more

Tracy Slayton is my stylist. She has been doing my hair since May of 2013 and my hair has never been healthier! I have very fine hair that easily breaks and growing it out has been a process. It has been growing in thick and shiny ever since I started seeing her. I feel confident in just letting her do her thing. She takes off just enough so that my hair stays healthy and its been growing out beautifully. She also did my blowout and it was beautiful. She is fun and down to earth. I had the same thing happen to me as Sage M only the person who cut my hair had long blonde hair and bangs. Come to find out later she is an apprentice but she told me she had been doing hair for 2 years. Shouldn't you have the choice to choose if you would accept an apprentice to work on your hair? To make a long story short she had to redo the color on my hair and I will have to wear a hat till my hair grows out due to the haircut she gave me. Nothing blends in. She tried to do an undercut but instead shaved the back of my head up to a certain point and left the remaining hair above it like a bowl which is about 1-1/2" long and then she cut chunks into it. We did talk later and she offered for me to come in and have the person training her try to fix my hair but the only thing they could do now is give me a butch. It's that bad. The only reason I decided to post this review is because nobody should have to go through this. read more

I would recommend not having a nail appointment with Linda Messner. I scheduled an appointment two weeks in advance. I arrived five minutes early for my 10:15 a.m. appointment. I waited and waited and waited and waited. Absolutely no one in the salon approached me to ask if I needed assistance. At 10:45 I finally asked a hair stylist if Linda Messner was in the salon. The hair stylist told me to call Linda Measner, something in my opinion the hair stylist should have offered to do. I called Linda Messner who immediately put me on hold....are you kidding me!?? Linda Messner finally came back on the line and gave me some lame excuse that somebody else told her that I had cancelled my appointment. In other words, Linda Messner blamed someone else for her failure. Linda Messner gave me a half-hearted apology, told me I could wait for a long time for her to return to the salon or I could reschedule with her. Yeah,right! If Linda Messner had taken full responsibility for her mistake and offered to do my manicure and pedicure for free, I may have changed my mind. I found the entire experience deplorable. read more
