I love Salon Gorgeous. Clint is amazing! He provides precision, high-end styling, and is a master of color. I get so many compliments on my hair, even weeks after he's colored it. Some of his clients drive for hours, or fly in from out of town, just to get their hair done by him. The salon itself is welcoming and cozy, and people come by just to chat and say hi. I've been going to see Clint for a couple years now, and I love him! Clint is extremely knowledgable about the products he is using in his clients hair and always has their best interest at hand. He is always honest and upfront about the cost and how the outcome of your hair will come out dependent on the services, to me this is what makes an outstanding stylist. If I come in wanting something done to my hair, I want my stylist to tell me how damaging it is or isn't going to be to my hair, how the up keep and cost of upkeep will be. Clint always makes sure that his client knows what they are getting into. He stands by his work and makes sure that it's perfect before you step out of the salon. Clint saved what was left of my hair after a terrible cut! It's not like I had a friend cut it. Unless she's an actual stylist, *that's* just a disaster waiting to happen. Nope, I had my hair butchered at one of the priciest salons in Salem. I was so unbelievably pissed, I could barely look at it in the mirror without getting angry. My roommate, who had a much better view of the catastrophe that happened to the back of my head, quickly got me an emergency appointment with him at Salon Gorgeous. With lopsided, chunky layers that left me looking like a mushroom, this wasn't an easy job. He was honest about how much help he could offer as "the hair just isn't there," but he was able to even out the layers, contour the weird, "grown-out bangs" pieces (I haven't had bangs for 20 years) to actually frame my face, and re-angle some of the cuts which were flat-out wrong. As in, this should be cut away from my head, not towards it, wrong. I'll be returning as my hair grows back to continue my cut rehab. Thanks Clint and Salon Gorgeous! read more

I found this place because my regular hairstylist used to be at Elite Salon, but they shut down, so she is here now. She is amazing. The first time I went to her about 2 1/2 years ago was purely by accident. I had gone from Keizer and stopped at literally any hair place along the way until I found that one. They were closing soon, but I really needed a haircut, and Elisabeth agreed to cut mine. I had a small idea what I wanted, but since I'd never been to a stylist before, couldn't explain it well. Well, a shampoo, and an hour after closing time later, I absolutely loved my new hairstyle. Everyone I knew said how good it looked and what a great job she did. Well I ended up moving to LA a few months later, but I always schedule my appointments with her whenever I'm in town (usually every few months). She is a great stylist and really listens to what you want and knows what will look good on you. Now a little about this salon. It has a good amount of parking (it is across from South Salem Wal-Mart), and a nice clean facility. I love the fact that you don't have to get up and go to a hair washing station then come back. All you do is sit in the chair, they turn you around, and lift up the "counter" and wash your hair right there. Then you turn back around, the counter piece is put down, and its back to a hair cutting station. It definitely makes it really nice and convenient. I will definitely keep coming back here because it isn't too loud and so it is nice and relaxing and probably has some other great stylists, but I really recommend Elisabeth read more

My hair was cut by the owner/manager. It wasn't a bad cut but the experience wasn't great. She seemed distracted and kept chatting with her employees about preparing a room for another persons package event. I felt like I was a chore not a client. I went to get an eyebrow wax. The woman who helped me had a strong odor of smoke on her hands. After we were done she charged me $15.00! I have never paid more than $8.00 ANYWHERE for a brow wax. When I went to pay the Internet in the store was down and somehow after being overcharged this also became my problem. Luckily being an honest person I called my husband to bring me cash. The employee didn't once suggest me coming back to pay later or offering a free service due to her error. I was appalled. I am also a licensed cosmetologist and this is not the way you run a business....not if you want return customers anyway. read more

This review is only about one of the hair stylists, Angela. While Angela is only there a limited amount of time, Tuesdays and Thursday, she is the best colorist I have ever had and worth the month it takes to get an appointment. She literally works wonders with color, and can make almost any color look natural. The highlights weren't too chunky and blended in nicely with my natural hair color, so much so that my roots were unnoticeable after months of neglect. While I didn't go crazy with my hair color, I lightened up several shades. For haircuts, I'm personally a fan of Toni and Guy styles, but my last hair cut was great, and exactly what I was looking for. I can't recommend her enough for any styling needs you might have. read more

I started going to Clint because a friend recommended him. For being my first time going to him back in November he did an excellent job. I couldn't decide if I wanted to touch up my roots or get something different l, so I sent him a picture of what I wanted, but he was honest and told me it would damage my hair so bad that he didn't recommend it, but he gave me a different idea I liked it, so I made an appointment with him I drove 2 hours just so he could do my hair. Once again he did an amazing job. I'm willing to make the 2 hour drive so he can keep doing my hair. I totally recommend him!!!! read more

Salon gorgeous is amazing and I love their set up. I'm a 15 yr old that has never gotten her hair dyed. I went here bc my sister said she loved it. But I did have a bad experience w/ one hair stylists. Her name is Danette she has brownish blonde hair. I went in for a cut and color for $250 and I did not get what I envisioned. She spent three hours doing it and I felt to bad to tell her I wanted my hair a darker shade. Once she styled it she started hyping me up and I went along w/ it. Once I got home everyone was furious. My hair was botchy, had I uneven roots and the color was definitely not my shade. I texted her the next day (I didn't even go to school bc it was that bad) and i told her how I felt about my hair and she told me "I spent a lot of time and money to do your hair the way you wanted. You loved it when you left. Feel free to cancel your payment with the bank and I'll take it up with them, but My salon will not be doing your hair anymore, because no matter what I feel your never going to be happy with anything." It's clear that she's not open to constructive criticism or giving the client exactly what they want for the price they pay. After texting her and having her say that the salon would not be doing my hair anymore I called the salon and I asked if I could still go in and see a another professional after what danette had told me and they were very welcoming and confused as to why I would think I couldn't go back. If you go to salon gorgeous make sure you have information on the stylists and don't just walk into a disaster like I did. I'm sure all the other stylist are fantastic but I don't think I could say the same about Danette. read more

Due to health issues, I was not able to have my hair cut or colored for over a year. During a rare morning when I was able to drive, I stopped in to inquire about an appointment at Salon Gorgeous. The lovely nail technician had just arrived and phoned Clint who came in early to do my hair. The cut and color is phenomenal and the style works so much better with my life now. I went to a Salon in my town (my regular stylist was gone for a few weeks). I consulted with the owner of this other salon the day before my appointment. I told her that I only wanted a few foils of "low lights" to add depth to my very light blond (natural) hair. I have this done about 3 times a year. Before the appointment we discussed it again. She took SEVEN phone calls from her husband while she was doing my hair. When all was said and done, she had covered all of my hair with dye. She apologized, and I figured it would probably be okay, and it was too late to do anything about it anyway. So she sat me in another room for over 40 minutes with a hair dryer on behind my chair. Never even checked the foils. When all was said and done I was 2 shades from BLACK with a couple white streaks. I cried when I saw it,, shocked. Her solution was that she could "bleach a few strands"! REALLY?!!! Someone recommended that I see Clint. I did. He sold me products to try to salvage my hair, but wouldn't try to correct it since it was so damaged (even missing in some places). He told me what to do, and it seems to be working, and said he'd re-assess in two weeks. Tho disappointed that he couldn't fix it then, I'm so thankful that his advice and products are helping so much. read more

Salon Gorgeous has several great hair stylists'; however, Clint Holt is absolutely fantastic! He knows his s#@% when it comes to hair. I have brought my mom in with hair disasters from hell as well as my twenty-something daughter in need of major color correction and he was able to magically fix even the worst mess. My mom had lost a great deal of hair and had damage to the hair that was left and even then he made her look awesome. He spends time talking with you to truly figure out what you want and he is honest about what can and can't be done and that is because he wants his customers to leave lookin their very best! He is a perfectionist once he knows what you want he goes to work and stops at nothing until it's gorgeous. He is up-to-date on what's new with hair, he is the King of Color! Besides being a really wonderful stylist he feels like a good friend. I have never been to a stylist that made me feel like I was being heard and anytime I see him I know that I'm leaving looking damn good.
