My fiancé had to come here today as she got her hair colored and cut yesterday at Fringe in West Hartford and they did an awful job! Her hair was cut uneven, etc and it became a total nightmare. Fast forward to today and Hair Gallery was able to correct the previous cut and give my fiancé the cut she wanted and should've gotten yesterday. The stylists here are extremely knowledgeable, super efficient and very nice. Everything and more that you'd expect from an upscale salon! This will now be her go to salon for eveything. By the way, the stylists name was Heather and she did an absolutely fantastic job! I first reached out via their Yelp page to inquire about an appointment. They were super responsive even during the days they were closed. You do have to place a credit card on file when you make your appointment. They also contacted me a few hours prior to let me know the hairstylist was available if I'd like to come in sooner which I greatly appreciated. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately and after completing the new client forms, I was offered a refreshment. I went with red wine and was so surprised at this kindness. My hairstylist was Lindsay and she was AWESOME. She asked me questions and double checked with me on everything she was doing. Shalynne gave me the fastest blowout I have ever had (I have long thick curly hair) and it lasted stick straight for days without having to use a hot iron. Overall a great salon, modern and stylish without being pretentious and a bang on job for a great price. Love it!

With that being said, the woman who did my hair fried it, I have fine hair, you don't get to rip it out, she literally pulled the comb though the knots she created, anyone with common sense knows you don't do that, even after conditioning my hair it felt dry and fried, she was extremely rough and couldn't tell that I was getting madder each pull of my head. If this is how paying customers are treated you do not belong in business, and the hairdresser should be fried or retrained, but in my opinion she doesn't belong as a hairdresser. I will never ever go back, she didn't even cut or style it as requested. Very poor service and quality, I guess you get what you pay for.

I visited Brush to fix a bad haircut experience from a Wethersfield studio. I have a severe…read moreinverted bob haircut and the previous stylist didn't know how to properly do this type of hair style. There were jagged pieces... it was heavy... a disaster. Ashley was very professional and knowledgeable about my thick hair type and funky style. She took a fraction of the time the previous girl took to cut my hair. She then put some serum in it and blow dried it (which is no small feat with the amount of hair I have). It was so shiny! After blow drying and flat ironing my hair, she went back in to check her work, and we decided to bring up the back even a little higher (I like it VERY angled). My hair feels sleek, looks shiny, and has so much more movement than before. Just be clear about what you want, and if you do want something special, communicate that ahead of time so she can make sure to block off more time for you. Overall, great experience. I asked for a color and a cut and did not expect to be helped since they were busy. But to my pleasant surprise, the fit me in. I never felt rushed. I had really terrible, grown-out highlights from a different hair salon and wanted to somehow fix them. The owner of Trendsetters (Nancy, I think) worked her magic. I now have a gorgeous dark red which turned out better than I had expected or hoped for. She gave my hair a trim and really gave it a wonderful shape. Everyone in the salon was super cheerful and attentive. I am so happy to have finally found a great salon and will definitely be going back again.
