Ryanne is the best!…read more I was referred by a friend to Ryanne at the Hair Gallery at the Mill about 1.5 years ago and I'm so glad :) It's like she can read my mind. I try to bring in pictures to describe what I want and she does the rest. Not only is Ryanne a very talented stylist, but the Hair Gallery is a beautiful business with a very welcoming team. I highly recommend the HG@TM! I would give more stars if I could.

As her Christmas gift I decided to get her a new 'do, but where to send her? I don't exactly live close by and am not familiar with salons in the area. After finding Timothy Richard's on Yelp I called them up. They were extremely nice and accommodating, set the appointment and allowed me to pre pay for everything. All my sister had to do was show up. She said her stylist Marcy, was really cool and helped her decide on a hairstyle that would work for her lifestyle as a busy mom with three kids. She didn't feel pressured to buy anything unnecessary, and just all around enjoyed the experience. She said she would definitely go back, and even my mother is going to make an appointment for herself! The prices seemed extremely fair, but I am going by Chicago standards after all, where I easily pay double for the same thing. But based on my sister's rave review, I might take advantage of their services myself next time I visit!

Very modern chic decor. It is in an office building with ample parking. The only complaint I do have is the stairs for entrance making it not ADA friendly. However, sitting in the waiting area I see a "back door" and maybe that's ADA entrance but I'm not sure. I highly recommend this establishment. We love Alex and all of the staff we've encountered have been very kind and friendly.

I am so happy I found Mariann and had an absolutely great experience!…read more I called the salon before booking an appointment because I had some questions regarding what service I needed. Mariann called me back and the we were able to text back and forth- on a Friday night which was definitely appreciated. She listened to my situation and gave me different options as well as photos. I went in the salon and was thrilled that Mariann actually listened to my goals for my hair ( low maintenance, easy to air dry) and then gave me different options throughout the appointment. She not9 only listened but spent time looking at my hair and explaining her thoughts to me. My hair has just started to curl and she helped me learn how to wash and style my hair to rock the curls instead of hide them. Mariann was able to help me with a great cut that took out some of the thickness that drives me crazy. She also colored my hair to help me lose the harsh blonde highlights and I am so happy with how it turned out! I was very lucky to find Melissa via a referral from a co-worker. Word of mouth is fantastic like…read morethat. Me (see my co-worker looking FABU-lous): Who. Cuts. Your. Hair?! My coworker: I went to Melissa in Manchester... Me: That's in my neck of the woods. Give me her contact info. Like...NOW. Well, it went down something like that. I'm trying to catch the enthusiasm and absolutely heart stopping need to get my hair done by whoever crafted what was on my co-worker's head. A phone call or two later, I had an appointment with Melissa. She's very accommodating and knows her stuff. Within a week, I was sitting in her chair and she was doing my hair cut using a technique I've never seen. She seems so casual, chats you up, and all the while she's eyeballing your head and hair 360 degrees. She cuts the hair wet. Then dries it and recuts its. Then she walks around your chair, checking out your hair and will go back in many times to do little tweaks and touch ups. Talk about good with details! You can tell she's been doing this for a long time because if your stylist has such a laid-back attitude while you're in the chair, you're either with an idiot or you're with someone who REALLY KNOWS what they're doing. Melissa definitely hit this cut out of the park. She was able to give me a really nice cut, she took a lot of hair out, gave it a shape, and it still has some length. I really like it. I felt before my hair was blah, which she pointed out what was going wrong with it, and how she would rectify it. And she went above rectifying...she gave me...Beautiful Hair. She is also very much into education. She will give you a ton of styling tips while you sit in the chair and after. She is adamant that if you have any questions, she's just a phone call away. So, to wrap this up, great little studio space, awesome stylist, and great hairstyle. Done. Done. Done. Get your butt over there. You won't regret it even if you have to drive a bit. Ashley was very professional and knowledgeable about my thick hair type and funky style. She took a fraction of the time the previous girl took to cut my hair. She then put some serum in it and blow dried it (which is no small feat with the amount of hair I have). It was so shiny! After blow drying and flat ironing my hair, she went back in to check her work, and we decided to bring up the back even a little higher (I like it VERY angled). My hair feels sleek, looks shiny, and has so much more movement than before. Just be clear about what you want, and if you do want something special, communicate that ahead of time so she can make sure to block off more time for you. Overall, great experience.
