If this is how paying customers are treated you do not belong in business, and the hairdresser should be fried or retrained, but in my opinion she doesn't belong as a hairdresser. The salon itself is beautiful, and I can't find anyone else that can color my hair the way she does. Very professional and clean with a warm, comfortable atmosphere. All my sister had to do was show up. She said her stylist Marcy, was really cool and helped her decide on a hairstyle that would work for her lifestyle as a busy mom with three kids. She didn't feel pressured to buy anything unnecessary, and just all around enjoyed the experience. She said she would definitely go back, and even my mother is going to make an appointment for herself! The prices seemed extremely fair, but I am going by Chicago standards after all, where I easily pay double for the same thing. I started having Michele do my hair for the past year and everything was fine. She said she was happy I was always on time and never cancel. I was happy with her color and haircuts. On 9/5/2023, that vibe, ended. I don't know why she didn't just cancel my appointment. I could "feel," the bad vibes when I arrived. She was snippy and weird. I brought up "Bridge of flowers", and she started screaming; "one place you couldn't pay me to go to is JAMAICA!" This went on and on...talk about awkward. Then we go to the sink, 30 minutes later. She always puts a neck support down, because I had a surgery this past February and she ALWAYS does this. She offered to do it last year, and I was very grateful. Hair by Design isn't one of those - they're independently owned and from my experience, hire very experienced, talented hairdressers.
