Pros: The salon is in a good location. The staff is very friendly. The salon itself is clean and bright. You can go next door to Beth Marie's for ice cream when you're done-yippee! Cons: The hairstylist can be easily distracted with teaching/calls/other clients. My first haircut and color at this salon was wonderful. Great cut. Great color. My stylist broke away a few times during the session to take calls or discuss things with other clients - which was okay, I understood. My next visit, just a haircut - should have been in and out in about an hour. It was longer than that because my stylist was teaching a new person (fine), but would start to cut, have to leave to take a call. Return for a bit and leave for something else. A lot of distractions on a very busy day at the salon. The cut was done, and the new kid finished the styling - again, a very nice cut, but I felt like I was more a hindrance than a client. My third and final time here - I ended up walking out. I arrived early and checked in, again a very busy day-lots of people. It was 15 minutes past my appointment time, and was told my stylist was running a bit late (no worries, I had time, again, the staff was very friendly). At the 30 minute mark, more apologies and an offer to rebook. I left...and no, I didn't rebook. I wrote an email to the manager and did received a response to my concerns. I just chose to find another salon where the stylist takes time with me, and I don't feel I'm a distraction because they are busy needing to do something besides a haircut. read more

I will never be returning to this salon. I have never written a review before, but I cannot get this experience out of my mind. The first time trying this salon, I scheduled an appointment with Krista for Shellac nails. I never even asked the price, it was not that important for me. I just wanted my nails done before my vacation. Krista was never overly friendly but I could overlook that. After I selected my color, she went over my nails with alcohol and then began to polish my nails. She did not file my nails, push in my cuticles or ask what length I wanted. I stopped her because I wanted my nails properly prepped for the procedure. Krista replied that she would have to charge me extra for an express manicure. I agreed because I wanted my nails to look nice. Mind you, this was never mentioned to me on the phone when I scheduled the appointment. This was never mentioned on their website. I have been to several salons in my life and had several different nails procedures done, and I have never had to specifically request that my nails be prepped before the procedure, in the past at other places it was just a given that my nails were prepped before the application. She spent maybe 5 minutes filing my nails and roughly pushing in my cuticles. I had to ask her to be more gentle because she was causing pain. When the process was over and I was paying they went to great pains at the register trying to figure out how to add the express manicure to my bill. Turns out that it costs an extra $20 to have this express manicure. Mind you my nails were not in bad shape. Had someone mentioned this to me on the phone when I scheduled the appointment I could have made sure my nails were the way I wanted before going in or I probably would have said to go ahead and include manicure. It was the last minute upcharge that really made me mad. I asked to speak with the manager at the time, but was told she wasn't in. No one ever contacted me about this again and both Krista and the girl at the front desk knew I was unhappy about this. As a matter of fact, Krista suggested that I go to Spa Pedicures in the future. I am not strapped for money and do not mind paying for good service. The owner says on her website that she cares about every customer. My experience was that she cares about getting as much money out of every customer as possible. read more

When i first called Salon LaPage i was a nervous wreck. It had been 7 or more years since i'd even stepped foot into a salon to get a haircut. Normally i would cut and trim my own hair, but at this point in my life I wanted a change in style and i knew i couldn't do it alone. Whoever handled my first phone call was delightful, they reassured me that everything would be okay. It gave me peace of mind. When it came down to the salon itself, i was immensely impressed. From the second i stepped foot into the salon i felt welcome. The decor had a very upscale feel to it and every employee that i spoke to was nothing short of delightful. The woman who cut my hair was amazing( forgive me but your name has slipped my brain). She washed it, we talked about what style i was looking for, then she began cutting it. She was lovely and made me feel relaxed with every snip of hair that fell from my head. After about 20 or so minutes, she was finished. This was more than a haircut, it was magic. She created something had had completely surpassed my expectations. It was 19.00(plus tip) for everything, which if you ask me is a small price to pay for something so extraordinary. I can't comment on the stylists here, I'm here to review the poorly run management team and owner. They called me for an interview after seeing my resume on Indeed.com. I had one interview and then over 2 weeks later they called me for the 2nd interview after one person they interviewed fell thru. Then after that they called the next day to schedule my 3rd interview with the owner. Everything went well and I was feeling very confident in myself. A week and a half later (as of today) I still hadn't heard from them so I called the salon to follow up on my THREE interviews. They had given someone else the position and didn't even have the decency to let me know. So I'm here to say screw them and their shitty salon. James is absolutely amazing! I have lived in the Dallas area for almost 5 years now and have not be able to find a stylist that met my needs quite like he does. For a while, I was actually driving 2 hours both ways every 6 weeks to my hometown of Tyler because I couldn't find a decent stylist anywhere! I was a blond my whole life and when I moved to Dallas I colored my hair a dark chocolate brown. It was dark for years and all I ever wanted to do was get it back to blond. No matter what salon I went to, no one could lift my hair or properly highlight and I always ended up with orange highlights that looked so unnatural. After looking at reviews on yelp to find a new colorist/stylist I stumbled across Salon LaPage and thought I'd give them a shot. When I called I told the guy at the front desk my whole long story about my hair and what I was looking for. He set me up with James and my hair has never looked better. He was honest with me and told me it would take a few appointments to get me where I wanted to be. The best part is while I'm waiting on my bright blond hair I don't have to live with orange hair, it's actually a dark blond and I get tons of compliments. I haven't loved my hair this much in a long time. Highly recommend this salon and James. The customer service is also top notch! read more

I am not one to give a company a bad review but in this case, I feel it is absolutely necessary. I was recommended to Annie at Salon LaPage by a friend of mine who insisted she was a great hair dresser. Being new to Denton and not knowing anyone, I acted upon this recommendation only to recieve the worst service I have ever experienced in my life in terms of hair dressers. Upon walking in and being seated, this particular stylist asked me what I was wanting done to my hair. After I specifically TOLD her AND SHOWED HER A PICTURE of what I was wanting she went ahead and poceeded to do anything BUT what I had requested, cutting off well over 9 inches from my hair. (I have before and after pictures if you don't believe me!) on top of dying it much darker than what I was wanting. I had no idea what was going on as I asked her TWICE to raise the chair so that I could see in the mirror what was going on to my head and she ignored it, leaving the chair down to where I couldn't see anything. I had no idea what she was doing until I heard her say "uh oh" and "please don't hate me for cutting off more than what you wanted". I immediately reached behind my head to feel my hair only to discover it was super short. She cut my hair so short that I now can't even put it in a pony tail. (And this was after I told her I wanted it to be a little past my shoulders and it's now instead a little below my jaw line!) It took all I had to hold it together and not burst into tears. I wound up leaving there almost 3 1/2 hours later (I got there at 6:15 and didn't leave until almost 9:30 that night) in tears I was so upset. I have never been to a salon where it took THAT long to do my hair. Later on that night, I went onto their Facebook page to leave a review of my awful experience only to recieve a phone call the following afternoon from the owner of the salon telling me that she had removed my post on their Facebook page as she didn't want "slander against my employee:. The definition of slander is "The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation." I in NO way slandered this womans name as I was simply expressing MY honest personal opinion based off my horrific experience I had there the night before. The owner, Daphne asked me what went wrong as she was mortified that I had had such an awful experience and I proceeded to tell her exactly what happened. She seemed very sincere in her multiple apologies she gave me, saying that she was embarrassed that this had happened to me as this was NOT what their salon took pride in themselves in and that they strived for nothiing but the best for their clients. She asked me if I trusted her enough to give their salon another chance as she would guarantee to place me with their BEST stylist they had there. I told her I was very nervous about ever returning there and couldn't be certain I would. She offered to credit my account so that the next time I returned, I would get the same services I had done the first time for free. For her to go out of her way to call me, hear what happened, validate my feelings of being upset and angry and to offer a reasonable solution to rectify this situation meant a lot to me. I don't know a lot of salon owners that would have done that. That to me says a lot about HER character....not the salons, but hers. I know that what the owner offered me in terms of compersantion per say seems like a good deal, but with all I went through and seeing there already being one previous negative review on here, I highly doubt I will be returning to this salon ever again nor will I be recommending it to anyone I know. read more

I have never felt more unattractive in my entire life, than I did when I looked in the mirror after my hair cut this evening. My hair was the one thing I loved about myself, and now it's gone. Not only is it so short I physically cannot do anything with it, but there is absolutely no way to fix it. I showed Michelle 3 pictures, each of which showed a long bob. And no, I didn't expect it to look like the pictures, but it was a reference for length. I repeated several times LONGER THAN MY CHIN. I left tonight with a bob that is exactly at my chin, both sides are uneven, and so far this evening I haven't stopped crying long enough to look in the mirror. Of course, complaining there would have caused a scene, and I honestly didn't want anyone looking at me, I feel and look hideous. (You can't glue back the hair, so even if she had offered to fix it, it would have been worthless.) Additionally, $40 for a haircut, you would think the stylist would pretend to give a crap when she can very obviously tell you are unhappy with the tear streaming down your face. My self confidence is shattered for months until this monstrosity grows out. And all Michelle had to say, after tactfully avoiding eye contact and purposefully failing to ask if I liked it? "It's great for the summer heat." So thanks Michelle, for ruining the one thing that made me feel beautiful. read more

I have been trying out salon after salon with no success, until I tried this one. Anni is fantastic and nailed it the first visit. Listened to what I wanted, my concerns with my hair, talked about my hair type, and how I style my hair. This made me feel comfortable because she knew exactly what she was working with and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted. Salon was clean and staff was very friendly. Not too expensive, priced well for the quality of service you receive. I will absolutely be back in the future. read more

After reading the reviews I thought I would give this place a try. I made an appt with the highest level hairstylist (Meredith). I told her what I wanted - after she got done, I think she could sense that I wasn't totally satisfied - when i questioned her about my hairstyle and the length (i wanted a bit shorter), it seemed like she got offended. The more I thought about it, I was not satisfied with the haircut (which by the way, I think I way overpaid for the service), I called back the next morning to see if they could fit me in to get the length shortened - all of a sudden the had "no openings" the only appt they had available was with a lowest level stylist. Strange when I called to book my initial appt, they had 2 top level stylists available and now when I want to get the issue resolved, suddenly no one is available..hmmmm. Needless to say I WILL NOT BE GOING TO this place. Not Satisfied with their service. read more
