Update...I gave this salon a 5 star a few years back. I'm sad to say, I won't ever return. It's many reasons...but two things primarily. First, their master stylist(s) now have students, which is great for them, bad for the client. Really bad. I refuse to pay a premium to be practice for a student. Student put color on my hair, highlighted it...very very slow, and I felt cheated. If I wanted a student, I wouldn't pay for Tina. It's ruined that relationship I had with my stylist. Second issue, takes SO LONG. They "squeeze" in other cuts and such while you "process" or get shampooed. I sat for over an hour last time...I'm not doing that. I have switched salons where I get the stylist I pay for, and her complete attention. So sad to post this, but go elsewhere... read more

The stylists do a good job, but they don't tell you how much they charge until you check out. Their stylists are ranked by time with the salon and money they bring in, so you could think you'll be charged $40 and go to check out and be told you owe $53 because your stylist went up in rank. Happened to me and to someone else I know. They don't say prices unless the customer asks. So if you're up for surprises, this is the place for you. read more

I was really looking forward to going to this salon. All I had wanted was some simple blond highlights and a trim to my already established layers. The staff was really nice and I was really hoping this could be my new place to get my hair done since I just moved here. Unfortunately, I knew something was wrong when she left the foils on for about 5 mins and had to tone my hair a bunch of times. I was scared to see the result. When I looked in the mirror I realized I looked exactly the same as if she had done nothing. I wanted to cry at that point. I ended up having to pay $150 for nothing. I called the next day to ask for a redo and they made it sound like it was my fault. I cancelled the redo and drove back to Houston to get my hair fixed. My Houston stylist pointed out all the damage they had done to my hair that will be permanent. I guess they just scheduled me with an inexperienced stylist. Not sure why they would do that for a first time customer! I was disappointed. read more

I called last Friday to see if they had any same day openings for a hair cut and I was lucky enough to get an appointment that afternoon! I just went in for a haircut and had no stylist preference. As soon as I walked in the energy was great and they were very quick to get me checked in. Maddie was my stylist and she totally understood exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and how I wanted it cut and you also get a free deep conditioning your first visit which was awesome!!! Courtney is wonderful at her job. She knows so much about hair and offers wonderful care and styling tips to help you achieve your desired look. She is very sweet and friendly and talks up a storm while she's doing your hair. So if you're not much of a chatty person I'd go with someone else! The only downside to this place is the high prices. I wasn't too crazy about my color job for the high price I paid but my trim turned out great and the treatment she put in to repair my damage made the world of difference. read more

HAIR STILL FALLING OUT. Went to get balayage here and instead got highlights (that took TEN HOURS) by Forest who said this is how she does balayage. Hair started falling out after she washed my hair at the end and she said "well you have a lot of hair". My hair is STILL falling out - the pieces that were bleached. If I pull just at he tip of my hair, it comes out like noodles. Just have a chunk of bleached pieces left at the back of my head. My hair feels like a bag of Doritos and looks like shit. They didn't make me pay bc the manager saw how terrible my hair looked... but I feel like I need get paid to make up for this b.s. read more

I have been going to Courtney for over a year now, and she is the best hair stylist I have ever had in my life. Beatrice took care of my hair this appointment and I was very impressed! She's knowledgable and really does a great job of envisioning how your hair will look best. I arrived a bit early for my appointment with Chelsea and the person before me hadn't shown up, so she greeted me immediately. Of course as she was showing me around the salon, the guy who was late arrived!! She was very apologetic, and I agreed to wait. I waited in the nail part of the salon and got hungry after about 20 minutes, so I told the receptionist (who turned out to be the owner) that I was going to step out to eat and could she recommend a good place. Not only did she recommend Beth Marie's, she ordered my food and paid for it because I had to wait. Chelsea did a great job handling the numerous ideas for my haircut, taking lots of time with me. I will definitely go back!! I didn't care for the Redken product I bought, but otherwise Salon La Page is great!! read more

I have unique hair, I guess, and I've had some botched haircuts at different salons and I'm very easily disappointed with haircuts now. I've been told I am super picky. So, when I first went to Salon LaPage, I was very nervous. My stylist, Chelsa, not only did a wonderful job, but she was so patient with my nervousness. I get so many compliments on her work! I've had her cut everything from long layers to a bob and I've been so impressed each time! All of the hairstylists are really good at what they do and they always get me into the chair as soon as I walk in the door. But be respectful of their time and make an appointment. So I had an appointment today which I made 6 days in advance to get a full highlight and cut. When I made the appointment, because I was a new client I was told I needed a consultation before my appointment. I thought this was odd but agreed, and then proceeded to answer several questions regarding my thickness and length of hair. Fast forward to today when I show up and am told I am not getting my hair done and that I only have an appointment for a consultation. I made sure that I was going to be having my hair done after the consultation when I spoke to the young man on the phone on Monday. I told the girl this and she just said well I can see if Emily can fit you in but I'm so sorry she is booked. So I told them the consultation wouldn't even be necessary and left. I get a phone call 20 minutes later saying if I came in at 10:30am I would be seen. This is a joke. My appointment time had been at 9:45 am when I was told I wouldn't be getting my hair done. I had an appointment. They didn't see me and I had a wedding that afternoon. Do not go here. Shady Shady Shady. I only went here because when I lived in Denton I used to go here. Never going back! I have been going to Salon Lapage pretty much since they opened there doors. Its close to my house so I liked the conveyance factor. However I have seen several different stylist. One burnt me with the flat iron on the back of my neck. That stylist ended up leaving and I saw Courtney which I really liked. She was not overly friendly but she did good color. However I ended up having to switch my appointment due to my child being sick. I could not reschedule with her for over 3 weeks. I ended up taking another girl who works next to her. Courtney never wrote down my color in the files and the girl ended up screwing my hair up bad. I went back in to get it "fixed" and they could not fit me back into see Courtney so I had to see a different stylist and she was trying to make me pay for the fix! I hate how the stylist don't have ANY control over there own schedule ( you talk to the receptionist, they wont let you leave a message and have the stylist call you back ) and if you need something fixed and your stylist who you like is booked then you have to go to someone else. I had another experience shortly after that when one of the stylist I saw again did a bad color job and then they ended up making me pay for them to fix it. I told her I did not like it when she blew me out. She told me I needed to wait through the weekend that I would probably change my mind. I came back in Monday and they ended up making me pay for them to fix it. She ended up putting color on my hair and she could not get it right she had to tone my hair twice. The worst part complaining about me because all the stylist kept looking over at me. It was very unprofessional and I am NEVER going back again. Most of the ladies that work in the salon are young and very unprofessional if your looking for an upscale experience I would advise you to keep looking! read more

I had never had short hair before and I was completely terrified, but I've envied short hair for so long and decided to take the plunge. Bless this hair salon! I came in super distraught at how another hair salon completely ruined my hair and couldn't give me the hair color that I wanted. Emily was absolutely amazing! My hair was looking like a hot mess and by the time I left it was silky smooth, with volume, super shiny and she even managed to give me the exact color that I wanted. It took the other salon TWO mess ups and couldn't even give me the blue shade that I wanted. Super grateful I came here, everyone was very professional and sweet. My 12 year old daughter and I have been going to Salon LaPage because Madi is a family friend and we love the way she styles our hair! Recently, I needed a cut and color, and my daughter wanted to dye the tips of her hair blue. We, of course, booked an appointment with Madi, even though the prices at Salon LaPage are pretty steep. When we left, we were both pleased with everything, and I paid over $250 for our appointment. The following week, my daughter went to her swim lesson (working towards swim team), and when she got out of the pool, her hair was green. I called the salon to find out what's going on. I was told that of course going swimming would make the blue fade and even turn green. I was never told that this was a possibility. The salon owner offered to redo the blue, but assured me that it would fade the first time my daughter went swimming again. I got frustrated with the fact that I had not been given the whole story. I asked for a refund of that portion of our visit. The owner called me back to say Madi had told my daughter about what could happen if she went swimming. Seriously? Of course the 12 year old is going to say she understands because the blue hair is all she was focused on. I, however, would never have paid such a hefty price for only one week's worth of blue hair. Had I known any of this, I would have told my daughter that's not something I would agree to. In trying to make my point that I, as the parent and the checkbook, should have been consulted about the details, the owner kept interrupting everything I had to say, dismissing the fact that I should have been given respect as a parent. I told her that I understood her position that she would not reimburse me, but I wanted her to at least acknowledge my point that I should have been a part of the blue hair conversation. Instead of showing me any respect, she hung up on me. I love Madi, and love the way she styles my hair. She's very young and still in her first year working as a stylist. It was the owner's job to counsel her for future reference. In the meantime, Salon LaPage will not receive any of my business, and I plan to share this bad experience with everyone. read more

I feel a bit odd giving this salon one star. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was professional yet welcoming, sophisticated yet warm. But wow. I walked out of there with the worst haircut I've ever had in my life! I suspect my stylist was just very inexperienced. After she "finished," my hair was damp, frizzy, and bizarrely chopped up. I had asked for subtle highlighting, and received strange blonde highlights. I wasn't made aware of my stylist's inexperience(?) before we got started, and it's not like the PRICE reflected that, either. Though to be fair, I haven't gone back and given them the opportunity to "make it right." (Because the thought of letting them near what's left of my hair makes me break out in a cold sweat.) For now I'll be sporting a 'do that looks like I casually leaned the back of my head up against a weed-whacker. It will grow out. But when the time comes for a new haircut (and it can't come soon enough), I will NOT be returning here. read more
