Terrible haircut- DO NOT recommend! The woman who cut my hair, named Evie, cut my hair yesterday and did a horrible job. I'm a new mom who's on a budget and asked for a simple womens haircut- long layers, nothing fancy. As you can see in this photo, she cut several inches into my hair of what should have only been my face frame/ bang area. I realized this when I got home. I tried to call and ask for the manager and owner information to file a complaint; she refused to give me any of that info or put me in contact to someone higher up. She then hung up on me. I bought a Groupon for a full highlight and cut. The salon had pretty good reviews on Groupon and Facebook so I felt pretty confident about my purchase. When I arrived at Salon Fuse, it was a little offputting. There was only one woman working and the place seemed to be under repair. I just felt kinda weird and so I pulled up Yelp and saw all of the terrible reviews. I got really nervous but thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. Right off the bat (I think her name is Evie) seemed to be very skilled in her craft. She seemed to know exactly what I was looking for and was very encouraging saying how much I was going to love my hair. What I loved- *she seemed very knowledgeable *She was friendly *The place, although under repair is cute and modern *My hair! And isn't that the most important thing? She cut off just the right amount (I wanted to keep the length but add some long layers) and the color is beautiful What could have been better *she's very heavy handed. I look forward to the relaxing feeling of getting my hair "played with" when I get it done but there was nothing relaxing about how she handled my hair/ head... it wasn't awful... it just wasn't good. *She did upsell the toner for $30... said normally it would be $45 *She said she was doing me a favor by putting in "extra" highlights because the Groupon is only for a few but the Groupon specifically says "full highlights" *She never asked what color highlights I wanted which I thought was weird but she nailed it. The space is clean and the decor is trying for trendy/upscale. The space is small but well appointed. The staff was rude and uninterested in my business. I went in (after calling but not getting an answer) to schedule a consult for a perm, a service listed on their website. Either there was a language barrier or an attitude barrier because I had to ask three times to schedule a consult before the employee finally moved towards the desk to schedule something--but not before sighing in exasperation and rolling her eyes. The first two times I asked she just started at me as if she didn't understand what I was saying. Its not as if they were busy, just two ladies standing around chatting while one fixed her lipstick in a mirror. Maybe Salon Fuse is having a bad day, but I'd rather take my business to an establishment that actually wants my patronage. I was sorely disappointed by the way the staff behaved at this salon. read more

Rude unprofessional owner. Showed up after making an appoint on-line, owner had no idea because she did not check the schedule. Owner proceeded to talk down to me and my daughter because my daughter had a cough. Telling my daughter to cover her mouth, which she was coughing into her arm. The owner kept saying "well I hope she doesn't have a virus" even after I told her my daughter had been cleared by the doctor and had a lingering Cough from a week ago. We walked out. I went here because I'm new to the area and saw a great deal on Groupon. I'm all about supporting small businesses but this lady is rude, lazy, and did a TERRIBLE job on my hair. First off; I got hightlights, conditioning treatment, cut, and styled all in 45 min. When I walked in and mentioned the groupon she automatically acted like I was inconveniencing her and completely switched gears and rushed through EVERYTHING. And I was the only one there. I've been getting highlights for 10 years and I've come out better from going to a student. She put like four foils in my hair, didn't even come close to my roots, ran through already bleached hair WHEN I SPECIFICALLY SAID NOT TO. And now it just looks like I have a bunch of uneven blotches of blonde. It looks awful......then she takes me to the "conditioning treatment" which she, of course, complained about giving to me even though she had it on groupon. After that she "trimmed" my hair giving me a completely uneven cut and horrendous layers. I don't even know what to call my hair right now. I mentioned to her at the end that I didn't think she did a good job on my hair. Do you know how painful it was handing over a tip to that woman? But I figured she needed all the help she can get. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A BLONDE. My experience there was my worst hair nightmare coming to life. And thanks salon fuse. I have to pay double this month for my hair to get it fixed and I don't know what the hell to do with my hair for the next sixth months while I patiently wait for these layers to look somewhat normal again. read more

Don't waste your time. In addition to the absolute discomfort you feel in this odd place, I bought a groupon for cut, color, and PARTIAL highlights ($68) and was told upon arrival that it would be an additional $45 for toner, or I could just take a gamble and see if I liked the highlights on their own. The stylist (owner?) emphasized there would be no toner without an additional $45. If I wanted to pay $120 for a cut and partial highlights, I wouldn't think I'd need a groupon for that. I went home and got a refund from groupon, so I can't speak to actual cutting or color ability, but with all the options out there... No need to waste your time here. read more

Very talented stylist with excellent concept of how to cut and style naturally curly hair. I have loved all of my color treatments and EV constantly comes up with new ideas and subtle takes on how to change it up. The salon is very clean and mod and the online booking is enough to keep me coming back. read more

I love Salon Fuse. I am very picky in who does my hair. I went to a different salon in Birmingham and they did my highlights very poorly. I had fried my hair and ruined the ends and Salon Fuse is helping my hair get healthy again! I went in using a Groupon but my hair needed much more. The owner is very nice and very personal. She spent a lot of time on my hair. I love how it looks now! I am going back for more highlights and I also went back for a blow out and curls which she did an amazing job. Don't do it. Evie gave me a decent haircut but totally disregarded my specific request to maintain my length as far as possible. And that was the BEST part of my appointment. She charged me $130 for "bayalage", turned my hair orange, had to apply toner 3 times to make my hair not look completely crazy, complained about it the whole time, and after 4 hrs and 45 mins I left with my hair looking like I hadn't colored it at all! She doesn't know how to do color. Go anywhere else! Save your hair. read more

At first Evie was friendly and did a great job however if you use anyone in between watch out!!!!!!! I have a niece who colors and cuts my hair because the proceeds go to her father who died of ALS. I explained that to her so I always go to her for blowouts,my husband goes to her and three of my relatives that I referred go to her..A few weeks ago I called and spoke to her husband to cancel.his appt since he was in EMERGENCY at Beaumont. I missed one appt or she claims I did and she has been cruel since then. So today I went to make a new appt for my husband in person since no-one ever answers the phone and she would not answer my text but she would not make him another appt. She accused us of always cancelling..We canceled one time and her husband was great about it.I know of 4 people that no longer go to her for the same reason..I said to her I never cancel and my husband canceled once from EMERGENCY and I've sent you 3 permanent customers..Her reply was "Good For You". Absolutely the worse experience I have ever had at a salon. It was as if the stylist was upset, offended and angry that I bought a groupon. Told me it was partial highlights when the Groupon did not state that. I told her the toner on my head was burning my scalp and she told me I complain a lot. I was nervous about my foils and she responded "did you go to beauty school"? When we returned to the chair she was complimenting my hair and before I could even respond said' "you're probably an unhappy person & nothing will make you happy". I have never been so uncomfortable and disrespected as a customer in my life. My hair cut truthfully looks like my nephew whom is a toddler did it. To even out my length of this "trim" that was once at the middle of my back..I'd have to cut it to my chin. I too purchased a Groupon for Haircut, Highlights and Style so I made an appointment, when I was seated, I was told there would be an extra charge to dye the rest of my hair along with toner totalling $65. I was not happy but since I was there already and I needed to get it done I said yes, so on top of the Groupon purchase I paid an additional $65.00!!! This is the first time I have ever had to pay extra to have the rest of my hair dyed and to have toner applied. My hair turned out nice and I like it but NOT an additional $65 nice!!!!! read more

I randomly found a groupon for Salon Fuse and ended up being so impressed!! She honestly gave me the best haircut and highlights I've had in a couple of years. (I have short fine hair and have generally found that good hairdressers love it and those who aren't so great hate it, because every detail is noticeable). The prices are so reasonable, I think about $25-$30 for a haircut, that I plan on continuing to go there even without a groupon.
