I recently moved up here from Boston where i was lucky enough to be neighbors with a stylist so I hadn't done the whole salon thing in a while. I was super pleased with the atmosphere here, everybody was very nice, the environment was spacious and I felt right at home. I was offered a drink when I arrived and waited about 30 seconds before I met Kaitlyn my stylist. Kaitlyn did an amazing job! I gave her the typical guy explanation of what i was looking for, "I don't know, whatever you think looks good" and she must have been a mind reader, as I received the exact haircut i was hoping for. The Salon: Exactly what I would do if I was building a salon (and had the talent to pull this off). It has a terrific flow from place to place so that you can just relax and go with it. The various stations (wash, dryers, cutting, nails) are just separate enough from each other that you don't feel on display or in the middle of things when you're reclined in a glorious wash chair. Lighting, both natural and artificial, is excellent. The work stations themselves have enough space so that stylists aren't bumping in to each other constantly. Don't laugh - it's also not too girly girly. Men can (and do!) come here without being uncomfortable. Overall, extremely well thought out. My stylist, Tara the Terrific, remains brilliant and fabulous. I happily followed her here and enthusiastically recommend her. She is smart, careful and conscientious. I adore what she does with my fine yet bountiful hair. She's patient, talks to me about what I think is working and what I wish to change. She always makes sure that I can style my hair at home. From appointment to appointment, she remembers trouble spots and particular things that my hair likes or dislikes. I couldn't ask for more. Random bits: From the train station, it's just up the hill. If you drive, free parking is available in the lot across the street from the church. The pricing is competitive with other salons. (Yes, it will cost more than $10 to cut your hair. This was my first experience at Salon Forza and I've already booked my next one. The environment was lovely, spacious, and relaxing, and the people were warm and friendly. My stylist was Nina, and she gave me a great cut, listened to my input, and was pleasant and friendly. She had suggestions and ideas, and I've already booked a next appointment with her. The staff offers you a drink right away, and the shampoo chairs elevate your legs and massage you while you get shampooed. Very relaxing. Had a wonderful experience at Salon Forza just this morning. Overslept a bit and didn't have time for coffee before rushing to the salon, and was pleased when I was offered a cup as soon as I arrived for my appointment. They feature a 20% discount for first-time appointments, applied to all services and products purchased - wonderful deal. My stylist was Nina - she gave me a quick tour of the salon, then we chatted about how I typically wear my hair, what I'm looking to do, etc. She really paid attention to what I asked for - was very focused on making sure she didn't do too much or too little to my hair (I'm pretty active and don't spend too much time styling, so I prefer an easy carefree style for my long hair). I hate when stylists are too pushy and decide that their vision is the way it should be - Nina really listened and made sure I was satisfied with the experience and style start to finish. Had a conditioning treatment done which felt wonderful and left my hair shinier and softer than usual - worth it! Oh, and the massage chairs in the hair wash area are a huge bonus. Overall, I felt relaxed, supported, and content during my time at the salon. No pressure to do anything drastic or make insane purchases - just a lovely morning. Salon Forza is a great example of amazing customer service, where they go above and beyond starting from the moment you walk in. I love the offer of tea, a mimosa, coffee or even wine! They have great product lines, MoroccanOil, Aveda, Redken, and Pureology, and my stylist Emily is always one to suggest a personalized product for me (I found the shampoo I love and now I am sticking with it). Emily is always on time, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. She is one to do what I ask, but also suggest styles and colors and give me her advice, without pushing anything on you that you aren't comfortable with. Every time I walk away feeling beautiful. Wish there was a way to give Salon Forza 10 stars. This salon is top notch and should receive the Best of Boston highest award. Greeted warmly by the receptionist and then given a lovely tour of the salon, to being offered a beverage of my choice, and an amazing aroma therapy neck massage upon sitting in the chair was only the beginning. Salon Forza offers a full array of salon and spa services in an environment that was clean, well maintained with wonderful products and a friendly and happy staff. I was booked for a consultation with the owner, Jennifer, and was so thrilled at how knowledgeable and friendly she was. She proceeded to do the color test on the back of my hairline to be sure the color dye would not cause irritation to my scalp. She was so thoughtful in this process and addressed my concerns professionally.A complimentary blow out by associate Rachel Brunette finished this incredible experience, along with discount coupons for my next few visits. All I can say is - WOW! - hands-down the best haircut experience I've ever had. The moment I walked in the door, I was greeted by Colleen, the Salon Manager, with a cup of Mandarin Orange Spice Tea. I was then greeted by Courtney, who walked me around the salon, giving me the tour and introducing me to Jen. I described what I wanted to do, and she immediately got it. You can tell she is a true artist, as she quickly went into describing all of the details to the point where all I could say was "Yes - that!" Courtney then lead me to the hair washing station - where the chairs double as massage chairs. The haircut itself was a breeze, with Jen intently focus on her masterpiece - checking in when needed to ensure I was getting exactly what I wanted. The whole salon is filled with stylists that, in Jen's words, "truly value their craft and are always looking to improve it." It is surprisingly affordable luxury, and a first-rate experience all-around. I highly recommend Salon Forza! Pro Tip: Start with Jen. She will get your "vision" down and give you the best haircut of your life. I have been going to Salon Forza for a couple years now. I see Emily Ann. She is one of the best stylist/ colorist around. I know she is constantly educating herself and pushing herself out of her comfort zone to help her clients feel absolutely amazing when they leave the salon. She listens to you and will work with you to achieve your goals and also keeping in mind your budget. The salon is consistent with how all stylists treat the clients so I would feel comfortable going to any stylist if Emily Ann was not available. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!! Me and my daughter came in to get our hair done for a upcoming fun holiday weekend to NYC. On arrival we sat right next to each other explaining to each of the hairdressers what we liked done. I wanted my hair dyed a solid color and I also wanted highlights. They highlighted my hair first, then stated that she was going to touch up my ends with my root color? That's not what I wanted at all! She walked me over to the dryer, where she left me cook at while the owner was on her way out she quickly spoke with me and then went back in a private room where she consulted with the hairdresser, and said well at least you'll have beautiful highlights? I explained to the rude and sarcastic owner that I was not happy she said, would you like to leave wet and I replied yes I would she made them wash my hair, as I had my soaking wet hair I went over to my 13 year old daughter who was very upset and said that her hair was gray! My daughters hair was gray!!! She was very upset and clearly hated her hair! This place is horrible and not professional by any means!!! I had to go to a different salon and spend close to $400 For there mistake they made on us! PLEASE DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR HAIR! There unprofessional and don't know what there doing! They ruined our hair, don't trust them with yours! There's a lot better salons than this! read more

Not a bad experience, but I won't be back. I always get my hair cut at Supercuts because I never want anything fancy or special done to it , just a trim and shape up. This time I decided I wanted to change my style and get something a little more styled and special. I brought a picture of a girl with a medium length bob that was shorter in the back , with longer pieces in the front to frame the face. Walked in, was immediately greeted and offered a seat and a refreshment while I waited for my stylist. I felt super fancy and doted on. When she was ready for me she took a look at the photo and said we could make that haircut happen for me , no problem... BUT a wash and a cut and a dry and a BUNCH of $$$ later , I walked out with my same hair , just shorter. Not even styled at all, just cut straight across and not even close to as short as the style in the picture. I don't know if that stylist needs glasses (aka couldn't see the picture that I was showing her) ... or thought that style would look terrible on me so just ignored me and did her own thing .... or just had no idea what she was doing ... but I'm going back to Supercuts now. It was fun to feel pampered for a minute , until I looked in the mirror and saw that I just paid triple the amount I usually would and got nothing better out of it. read more

I found Salon Forza through Yelp when I was looking for a salon to get my hair and makeup done for a formal event at my boyfriend's law school. I live about 45 minutes away and I had such a great experience that I'm considering making the trek to try them again for my next cut. When I arrived, Rosie gave me a quick tour of the salon. Everything was clean and they had great upgrades like massage chairs at the hairwash stations, a nice treatment room for massages and waxes, and a beverage station (which included the offer of beer). Getting down to business, I explained that I was going to a formal event, I am typically very low key in my daily makeup routine, and was happy to let Rosie decide the best updo and makeup for me. I showed her a picture of my dress and described my accessories so she could choose the best colors and she was off. Rosie was fantastic, friendly and professional. I couldn't have been in better hands. Around me, the other stylists were very friendly with their customers, but also chatting with me and asking about the event and complimenting me as Rosie worked her magic. It was a really fun atmosphere, which blended nicely with my excitement for the night's event. Rosie cautioned me that my makeup might seem a little intense since I'm usually such a minimalist, but she did a great job. My appointment ran from about 2 - 3:30 and my hair and makeup were still going strong when we went to bed at around 2 a.m. There is on-street parking and a municipal lot with pay spaces about 1/2 a block away. New customers get 20% off their first service, and they also give you a new-customer kit when you check out with additional coupons for your second and third visits. One small snafu as I was leaving - the salon does not take Amex cards or add tips to cards, and the computer crashed as my debit card was being run. I had to run up the street to get money for a tip, so I was able to confirm that the charge had gone through and grab cash for a tip. All in all, I had a great experience with Salon Forza and Rosie. This will probably be a shocker to some but I feel it more than necessary to post a review on this establishment, Salon Forza. The owner, Jennifer Traverso and I have known each other since she was a "baby" stylist. She was looking for a place to work being pretty fresh in the beauty industry and walked by a salon where I was working pretty close to the window. I sometimes employ the use of a cutting chair to position my body to better suit my design requirements. Jennifer had never seen anyone do this before and she thought it was the coolest thing on the planet. Her curiosity and excitement got her to our reception desk to request an application to work with us. From the day this amazing person graduated from beauty school she was honed to seek out excellence and the extraordinary. Her work ethics, morals, professional standards, skill level, and her jovial personality equates to one very well balanced, intelligent, genuine, sincere individual who exudes pure joy in what she does for others. I'm proud to have been part of her growing years. Jen and I have spent countless hours talking hair and rehearsing the many principles to achieving on purpose results in both hair design and hair color. I can assure anyone who should walk through her salon doors that they will never be taken for granted, they will always receive the best of any salon service (her staff is amazing!) in the entire state and they will never leave her establishment feeling less than gorgeous! I'm so incredibly proud of what she's become in the 7+ years I've know her. I could only imagine what the next ten years will bring. When I moved to Andover about six months ago, I was in desperate need of a good hair cut. I found Salon Forza through yelp (thanks yelp!) and have been getting my hair cut by Rosie ever since. She is THE BEST. Her consultations are great and she really listens to your answers. After about 3-4 cuts, my hair has come out perfectly every time. I leave feeling like a million bucks. Just awesome. I called same day for an appointment on an early Tuesday night and they were able to accommodate. Meet with Rosie for a wellness minute to relax before the haircut. Not typically something I enjoy as a working mother of young children. She was extremely knowledgable and helpful with an entire new hair style selection. Emily was the hairstylist and cut my hair to perfection. This is no tall order for thick wavy hair as mine. I was tight on time so both went at my hair to blow dry and flat iron. I went to Salon Forza yesterday after I tried calling my normal salon for a same-day appointment and was turned down. Luckily, Salon Forza had an opening with one of their senior stylists so I decided to give them a try. I can easily say that I have found my new stylist and will not be returning to my previous place. Upon entering the salon, I was quickly offered something to drink (from water to a mimosa) and then given a tour of the salon by my stylist's assistant, Sarah (not entirely sure - I'm terrible with names so my apologies if I'm wrong!). It's really a beautiful spa and salon combination with everything available (make-up, nails, massages, and hair color bar). During my wash, the chairs gave my back and legs a lovely massage and I was also given a head massage during the wash. It was really relaxing. Once I was in the chair, I was also given a neck massage before my stylist came over and introduced herself. Kaitlyn Kotyla was great and certainly earned her title of senior stylist. I asked for 3 inches off my total length and she showed me how much that would be before she began, which I haven't had done before. I also wanted some layers and angles for my face. Kaitlyn did most of the cutting on my wet hair and was really easy to chat with while she worked. After she dried my hair, she continued to cut and style my hair to make sure it came out great when dry. I was really pleased with the end result and will definitely go back for my holiday cut! Also, they told me on the phone that tips are cash or check only, but the services can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, cash or check. I was really glad they told me since I never have cash or checks on hand, and I was able to give Kaitlyn the tip she definitely deserved. They also gave me a 20% discount for my first haircut, which was an added bonus. Finally, they had a bridal party in when I was there and all of the girls looked great. They also had pastries and mimosas for the bridal party and it looked like it had been a fun morning for them. read more

I have to say that salon forza is an amazing salon and Emily Ann is an incredibly talented hairdresser. I've had cut and color , as well as waxing done by her and couldn't ask for better. As for her personality and character, I know about that too ~ and you won't find a kinder more gentle and loving soul than Emily's There isn't a mean cruel or racial bone in her body. She'll give you 110% of herself and go above and beyond to make sure you're happy with which ever service she's provided. Carolyn is the best. She has been cutting my hair for 6+ years and I've followed her to three different salons in Andover. This is my favorite salon out of the three. Complimentary drinks (including mimosas or wine), neck and hand massages. They also squeezed me in for a last minute wax the other day when they didn't have to and therefore ended up closing a little later than normal!!! They are awesome. I can't say enough good things about Carolyn, she is wonderful at cutting your hair exactly the way you like and she is very skilled at coloring.
