This is a review about trying to book with this salon. I wanted a haircut and I wanted to go somewhere that appeared high end with a good reputation which this salon does appear to have. I just wanted a haircut and I stated that a few times to the person who was texting me. They insisted I fill out a lengthy questionnaire and include pictures. I asked if I could please skip that part and was told no. So I reluctantly took the time to complete these forms and snap some quick pictures. I'm in town visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday and needed someone who can do a solid men's cut while I'm away from my usual stylist for an extended period of time. I really, really wanted to love this salon. I was so excited when I got the color consult form because it asked great questions and allowed me to explain what I liked and didn't like about previous stylists and my hair. Walking in, I felt like I was in great hands and I appreciated their thorough sanitization process. Everyone was super nice and I felt safe in terms of COVID precautions. The salon itself was also very clean and pretty. However, I walked out after paying $300 for color and a hair cut that I feel like is possibly the most disappointing cut I've ever had. I actually cried a bit and I'm not one to get upset about these things. I had about 7-8 inches cut off but the stylist performed a full balayage and then essentially chopped it all off to chin length, although I wanted it at the level of my collarbone and it was originally at the bottom of my shoulder blades. I just don't understand why 1) it was cut so short and 2) why I paid for all that wasted color and time when in the end it was just chopped off. Since I had a lot of length beforehand why couldn't a rough cut be done first? The color is fine but the cut is way shorter than I had expressed both in person and on the form and it is also lopsided. My stylist was a very lovely person and I have seen that she has good reviews otherwise, so maybe this was a one off thing but I am quite sad about it all around. read more

I know they are experts in coloring, but man can they give a good cut!! I have been looking for a new place for a while to get my locks cut. I also find that some salons can't handle my thick curly Colombian hair, and when I go to Hispanic salons, I come out looking like my mother. So I have been on the hunt for a place to just give me a gorgeous cut. I stumbled on this place from Groupon, and based off of my last salon experience with them (where the girl told me I had too much hair and I needed extra time, which would cost me extra money, and made me feel like a hassle), I was skeptical. When I walked in, the space was gorgeous. It felt like I was in a high end New York salon, where I was about to walk out of there feeling gorgeous. If you look at their Instagram, you'd know what I'm talking about. So I checked in and met my stylist Erin, a young girl who asked me what I wanted and why I came in. Honestly I felt bad because I had NO clue what to do with my hair other than cut it. I told her I trusted her instincts and told her what I usually get. She took me over to the sink and washed my hair, then gave me a conditioning mask (which was part of the groupon). She then took me to the chair and started to cut. We chit chatted a little and she let me know what kind of products I might want to use for my hair type. I wish more stylists did this! I need help people, it's why I go to salons and seek your expertise!!! She gave me some angles near the front of my face, and some layers. To me, the magic came from the blow dry and style. I felt bad because halfway throw my blow dry, another stylist came to finish the blow dry while she gave me gorgeous waves. I have a lot of hair lol. When she revealed me, I felt amazing. The time and energy they put into my simple cut, made me feel like I just got beautiful color in my hair and spent a lot of money. Erin tried to encourage me to consider a balayage treatment, but I really don't want to start coloring my dark hair. To be honest though...their Instagram has me feeling all types of ways. They clearly seem like the best place around that can do beautiful hair color. My only gripe with the place is that it was so quiet. It really did feel like a New York salon, but in a "we are serious about our work," so it felt like they didn't want to talk much. Even the stylists to each other were very hush hush towards each other. Erin definitely tried to talk to me, but I had a cold so couldn't talk much. I searched high and low for a salon nearby with good reviews because I keep having very bad luck wherever I go. I have very thin but frizzy/damaged hair and I wanted a cut and style. I specified to the girl how I wanted it cut and that I like it smoothed out as my hair doesn't look good when blown out. She kept telling me how much she loves long hair while she barely did a trim (I wanted my hair short above my shoulders in the back and longer in the front) and then she proceeded to blowdry/ style my hair. It was frizzy and looked like I just rode on a Rollercoaster. I'm a very passive person so once I told her exactly what I wanted WITH a photo for reference and she just did her own thing, I just wanted to pay and leave so I wouldn't be seen with my hair like this. They made a point to try and sell me every Kevin Murphy product in the book before I paid a ridiculous price for what I received. Honestly I have never had my hair styled this poorly before. If you are a new client, I definitely do not recommend booking here. I booked an appointment (basically through Instagram DM) because my previous highlights were too blonde for me and close to the root. I asked for a root smudge. Sean told me he could definitely do that and throw in a few low lights. When his front desk staff called me, they told me they would book me for a half balayage to give us extra time. They took a $50 deposit and told me it was to hold the reservation and that it would go toward my services. Not realizing the crazy amount of traffic at the time of the day, I was 10 minutes late. I was in the freezing cold looking everywhere for the salon, tried calling three times (but it went to the automated text service) which resulted in me being even later.. now at 15 minutes. After driving an hour, sitting in traffic, he told me he would reschedule me. I was angry at this point because I was doing everything in my power to get there as fast as I could. I sent an email apologizing for my tardiness and that I would like to re schedule at a later date. He said he would be keeping my deposit and that he needed a new one because I was considered a "no-show". None of their policies regarding the deposit were explained over the phone. This is absolutely horrendous customer service and poor business structure. There are so many accommodations that could have been made rather than to reschedule. In the unprofessional email he sent to me, he said I had blocked 2 hours because I was booked for a half balayage, toner, and hair cut. The hair cut part didn't even make any sense as I had never asked for a hair cut through Instagram DM or over the phone as I just received one when I got my previous highlights done. I'm assuming it was just to try to get more money. I would have been more than happy to leave with damp/wet hair, only pop in a few low lights, etc. as I understand there are appointments after me that need to be honored. As a salon that pays for search engines to sponsor them to bring in new clients, you should be more respectful and hospitable. Instead of taking marketing classes, it may be more beneficial to consider guest relations and hospitality skill training. This is a true reflection of the salon in its entirety. read more

I got a balayage and haircut with Laura who was absolutely wonderful. She listened to exactly what I wanted and incorporated her ideas as well. She explained the entire process and gave me a clear idea of what it would look like. It's rare to have someone get the exact vision you wanted for your hair, just from description. She gave me suggestions on aftercare and products that are reasonably priced and keep my hair healthy. I was surprised that after a balayage my hair felt softer than when I walked in. Sean was even able to fit my boyfriend in last minute for a haircut while waiting for me. We both agreed they were the best cuts/color we have received to date. I really don't like to write negative reviews, but I guess I should write here since the treatment by the salon was really not good. So, I went to this salon on Nov 30 for a balayage with Sam. I paid around $300 for balayage. I did not get any color or very little color on my hair. So she schedules another appointment with me after two weeks saying that she herself is not satisfied with the front with no color. She mentioned that she thinks that back hair will get some color after repeated washing. Me being just a listener, trusted her and said ok. lets do it this way. Now I get a call back next day coz I wrote not happy in the email review they sent me. The receptionist (Nancy) tells me that she discussed with Sean and Sam. we should not do balyage after two weeks, instead I should wash my hair every other day and see if color apprears in atleast one month. She also mentioned that Sean thinks if I dont get any color in the back then they will do some foils in the back too along with front.They asked me to call back after holidays. I called on dec 15 approx... they said Nancy will call back (since she was not in office that day)...no call back...dec 30, left VM..did not hear back..called Jan 7 again...Ally tells me that she cant book a free balyage for me (4 times she said that during the call) (i never asked for free balayage). I am just being a pateint customer who was asked to call back. She also says that she talked to Sean and Sam and they do not remember saying this...WOWWW. she also says that she cant do anything since it is past two weeks. I explained that Salon itself cancelled my two week follow up appointment. Next day Nancy calls me back...she says she remembers everything, but Sean says they cant do anything now. They give me a reason that it is because I used Henna once on my hair in my lifetime. by the way, I was being honest when they asked me. why would they ask me to call back and come for follow up if they had to give that reason. Btwn I am a customer who went for balyage with them (Amelia used to work then) in 2014...loved it and decided to go back to same place for my next balayage adventure (drove 55 min for this :( In summary: if you have black hair like me - please think about going for balayage with them If they promise that they will fix it - think about it again and finalize things before leaving salon - its a pain to follow up again. of course do not pay 300 dollars like me if you are not satisfied :( I have attached the picture. read more

Girl cutting my hair had a bad attitude, tried to let me leave the salon with an orange balayage when the color should've been an ashy dark brown. Thank god for Sean telling her she needs to tone my hair more and not let me go home looking like that. She spent at most five minutes on my cut. I asked for a very simple straight cut. It is totally crooked- off by an inch on one side. Disastrous. However, my sister went in and her hair turned out beautiful- she has medium brown hair naturally, I have black. I am really happy with my haircut by Sean. I went in with a haircut I did not like and he fixed it up for me and I am very happy with the results. When he was cutting my hair he took his time to get everything just right. I also appreciated him being careful around my ear piercings, I know this is a small thing but I cannot tell you how many hair stylists have snagged on my piercing before, even making it bleed. This salon is still my go to - no matter who does your hair, they all kill it! They always offer Groupons which for frugal people like me it works great. I've always steered away from dyeing my hair because of how expensive it can be but with the Groupons it allows me to splurge on a little self-care every now and then.
