I was looking for a while for a good colorist to do my hair as it was going to be my first highlights experience. Through Yelp reviews I found Serkan, and was surprised by the amount of good reviews. I was a bit skeptical, but I went. He's amazing! I can't call him a colorist, it's more of an art work. First time I went there he took it easy and more natural, so I can see and get a feel of how highlights look. I wanted to do some drastic changes and make most of my hair lighter, but he talked me out of it, and I'm so grateful. He gives you an honest opinion (which is rare) of what would work for you and what wouldn't. Then he listens to you for real, and does what you asked for, and even better. I went there again after I got used to my sun kissed look (as he described it), and we did more highlights and a slightly lighter color. It matches my skin and eyes color so well too! Very important as I want my hair to compliment my face, and not to live as a separate entity. Highly recommend Serkan. Besides all that professionalism, he's such a sweetheart, very nice and attentive and just a light positive person. Finally a stylist and colorist, who really seems to know his craft! I went to Serkan yesterday for a coloring. Not only is he the sweetest stylist/colorist I have come across in a very long time, the salon is beautiful and impeccably clean, and treats their clients with a level of courtesy rarely found these days. The shampooist Sada is a doll with a smile that goes a long way. Serkan, love this guy! Upfront about what can and cannot be done, what may be achievable in one sitting and what might not, given one's natural or pre-colored hair -all with a personality that makes you completely forget how long it all takes... no worries about the clock ticking when you're in this salon -it's a pleasure to be there! Everything about Serkan screams genuine! Regardless that I just had a haircut (elsewhere) a couple of months ago, I was completely at ease to let him correct some mistakes made by the previous stylist. I found myself completely at ease saying "go ahead, do what you think best, I trust you", rather than "no, I want this or I want that..." The first time I dyed my hair it was a disaster. I went to a salon in Manhattan, hoping to get a nice ombre and instead it ended up being a terrible fit. A year later I decided I wanted to dye my hair again and this time came to Salon Evolution. The hair stylist Serkan not only listened to what I wanted (and I asked for his advice too. because I did not want another bad dye) but he also made my hair the most gorgeous it has ever been. Since then I have made sure that he is the only one allowed to color my hair. Not only is he respectful, but he will take great care of your hair and make sure that you are delighted by the outcome. This year I came in once again to get my hair done, and this time I went for something a little different. I went lighter than ever before, not sure of the outcome, and once again he did a superb job. He also takes his time with styling your hair, which I really appreciate, because he is not just trying to get it done, but actually make it look fantastic. I've been looking for a beauty salon for a while and felt like what I was looking was impossible .... Not until I meet SHADE. She's the best artist of all. From balayage to haircut to makeup she's AMAZING. I've been doing my hair with her for a while now and each time I fall in love over and over with my hair. Everyone at the salon is so kind and pleasant from the workers at the front desk to the wonderful women who wash my hair-Shoutout to the best there is, Sevda! Serkan has been styling my hair for the last year and I can honestly say I am more than pleased with his work! He cuts, colors and blows out my hair and I love it EVERY time! Beth has been my hair stylist since I was 14 (I am now 22) and she is the only person I trust with my hair. I have very curly, dry hair and Beth has worked with me through the years to make my hair stronger and healthier. When I first went to her, my hair was damaged and wouldn't grow. Now it's long and shiny. She always listens to what you want and she is extremely talented and passionate about what she does. She is great at styling hair for any occasion and I have never been disappointed. She is extremely friendly and she'll make you feel super comfortable if you are sensitive about your hair like I am. I have been going to haircutters who constantly ruin my hair. There are not many haircutters out there who knows what they are doing. After my last miserable experience I was desperate, and being very anal about how my hair looks...needless to say I have been miserable. Today I yelped 5 star Salons and selected Salon Evolution. Thank the Lord. I was given to a Master Haircutter, Beth, who is a OCD as I am. She was masterful in correcting a horrible haircut without making me bald. She said the cut will be better when hair grows in, but I can't imagine being better than it is. Sometimes you just luck out and today was that day for me. I used to go to Beth many years ago in Studio 19 and she was the one who cut my hair really short and I just fell in love with the style. After I moved out from Brooklyn a decade ago, I was trying to find someone who knows how to cut straight hair, but apparently that was quite a challenge. The simplest solution was just to find Beth again and I was lucky enough to locate her in Evolution salon. I would recommend her to everyone. She listens to what you want and will guide you through all your doubts/wishes/crazy ideas. She makes everyone to feel special, appreciated and beautiful.She is amazing. I have been going to Beth for several years now, first at Robert Daniels and then at salon evolution! she was the first person I went to when I decided to dye my hair red, and the first person I went to when I said I wanted a pixie cut. She always does a great job when styling and giving me low maintenance options (as well as a hairstyle that will grow out well, as she knows that I can't always afford to come in more than twice or maybe three times a year). She always is a pleasure to talk to and gives me a style that both matches what I ask for and flatters my face! The salon itself is nice, very clean and well lit. Shadé is amazing!! I came here for the first time two years ago and had damaged hair from previous coloring at a different hair salon. She gave me her best advice on how to move forward and what she thinks will be safe in order not to damage my hair anymore. She went ahead and did her thing and ever since then, I don't let no one touch my hair but her. She recently dyed my hair to get me wedding ready last week and she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with it since she knew this was an important appointment for me! For a while I was mostly bouncing around different salons and sitting in different hairstylists chairs trying to find the right master to perfect exactly what I want done with my hair. I've never colored my hair before, and this time I felt that I'm ready for that. I wanted to get my sunny blond hair back, which is what I used to have before because my natural hair became darker with time. I had no doubts that Beth would do a great job. I LOVE SHADIJE. I didn't cut my hair in 2 years and had a residue of ombré in the last 3 inches. My ends were disgusting, and I had a ton of grey hair at my roots. I wanted a cut that still kept the length of my hair but refreshed the ends. I also wants a color option that wasn't high maintenance but covered my greys. She respected my wishes and cut it PERFECTLY! For color she suggested a glaze that was the same color as my natural hair. The glaze nourished my hair and made it so soft and shiny! Serkan is an excellent hair stylist. Every time I leave the salon I look wonderful. He listens to what I want and does my hair just right. I have been to many other salons and never was as pleased with the results as I now am. That is why I keep coming back each time I need my color done or a haircut and having my hair blown out. Wow! Made an appointment at Salon Evolution on the spur of the moment. Went in with an idea of the cut I wanted, sat in the chair and was just blown away by the stylist. His name is Serkan. He looked me in the eyes and said "no that cut will not work for you and here's why...". I've NEVER had a stylist do that ever. I put myself in his hands and I'm so glad I did. Best cut of my life!
