Very Noisy, Hard to relax, Most of the Noise is from Lady at front Desk, but good price for a massage if you don't noise

Wow. Massage was awesome I felt every push and ear cleaning was super little painful but well worth it

A few years ago when I discovered this place, it was a hidden gem. No one seemed to know it existed, so walk-ins were very welcome l. It was never full and the masseuses were eager to please and grateful. It seems that now that the secret is out, they got greedy. I walked in today and asked if I could be seen. The young man behind the counter replied: "one hour, right?" I said "I didn't say that. Let me think about what I want." I chose what I wanted, has a decent massage, and as I went to pay, I calculated a 20% tip and handed it to my masseuse. She had her head down, said something in Chinese to the young man, and he translated for me: "can you give her two more dollars? Otherwise she's going to be upset". So this is how it works now? I have to keep handing her money until she smiles?? So she got more than a 20% tip, and I left disgusted. What a petty, greedy place. read more

When in Brooklyn, I make it my business to go to this spa. I first went last year with a female friend, I wasn't expecting much, other than the standard spa situation. To my surprise, I encountered a relaxing massage. The price point is amazing and it's worth every penny. Just last weekend, I got a 60-minute massage and a 30-minute foot massage and it was everything I needed. The music is tranquil and the vibe is chill! The only two issues I have is the rooms are not private as the walls don't go to the ceiling and there is no door to the room, only a sheet. The folks that work there can be heard in the back talking among themselves, which doesn't always provide a relaxing atmosphere. Regardless, I highly recommend this place and will be back every time I am in the area! read more

It was my first time and I gotta say the massage itself was done my Amanda and she was phenomenal! The place is clean and the spa music was relaxing. I would give it 5 stars but need to regulate a few things I will list below! 1. The use of CELLPHONES should be prohibited-- there was a customer on her phone receiving a facial on her cellphone speaking loudly. 2. They should hire more English speaking employees 3. The rooms should be updated to closed rooms and soundproof rooms 4. The decor should be updated 5. The employees should learn to talk amongst themselves in another room that isn't by the rooms where customers or clients are receiving services. The only negative thing I can honestly say is the noise of people mainly the employees talking to each other loudly. I am Going back because the massage was great! After a long day of working remotely, I wanted to treat my fiancé to a great foot/body massage at a local spa, and happened upon this upstart spa on Yelp. When we arrived I decided, "What the heck, I'll get a foot/body massage too!" Upon arriving/checking in, we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming young lady. It was a bit chilly (which was not their issue, the building management was working on their system) at first entry. The interior décor was minimal and basic in style (plus, it was a bit too bright in the waiting area for my taste), but very clean (COVID-compliance was in full effect). When escorted to the massage area, I finally felt like we were in a spa, in that the lights were dimmed perfectly to set the mood for total relaxation! The area was clean and nicely decorated; loved the chairs provided for the foot massage. Speaking of which, one of the best foot massage we both ever had; the masseuses knew what they were doing! Tingling could be felt throughout the body, as they worked on the right areas, bringing full relaxation! We quite enjoyed the body massages as well. My masseuse (Lily) gave the most incredible head and neck massage, plus she read my body well, as my right should kept "popping," and she focused in on it, and rid me of the pain I felt in it earlier. There were a couple drawbacks to our experience: the seemingly constant chatter between our two masseuses during the body massages (we were in a couple's setting); though very low in tone and volume, as a client, you're looking for total silence, and/or soft massage melodies playing in the background. Secondly, when my fiancé's masseuse (Lucy) asked her to shift a bit, both masseuses slightly chuckled as she was moving, which made her feel very uncomfortable. They may not have been laughing at her personally, but when a woman is half-naked, she feels very vulnerable, and it just didn't sit well. All in all, it was a good experience, just some fine tuning, and they'll be the go-to spot for many! We'll be back I'm sure, as it was affordable, and great massages as a whole. read more

I've been going to this place for almost 3 years and i can't complain. Service is always good. The owner lady is a very lovely person. Always smiling and trying to accommodate customers. The only small complaint is the customers. Please turn off your phones! Aren't you there to get a massage and relax? Please have some consideration with other patrons. Came here for a massage and facial with my mom and sister. We were the first ones there so it was empty. I got a prenatal massage so I laid on each side in order to be massaged. Everything was great! I'd definitely return, especially for the price. The prices are reasonable. read more

Walked in on a Thursday for a massage and cupping. So glad I made the decision to do so. I didn't have to wait and the massage was exactly what I needed after a couple of hard workouts and a day of traveling. My only complaint is that my hamstrings weren't really attended to but the pressure used on my back and neck were great. I also fell asleep during my foot massage. The cupping was done in the same "room" once the massage was done but someone else (not my masseuse) put the cups on. I needed that pretty badly on my upper back. I wanted to try the muscle scraping but didn't have enough time for all the therapies. Prices are what they are b/c of the no frill nature. You're not in an enclosed room, but each table is separated by walls, and a curtain. You undress there, there are hooks for your things. I would come back when in town! read more

My husband and I went here the first time. My husband has a back + foot 90 minutes massage for $65 in a private room. I have a 60 minutes foot massage for $45 on a chair. Place is small and clean and cozy. Staff is nice and did a good job. Price is inexpensive. They give you one free visit for 10 visits. Will come again. read more

What a great place! I woke up feeling as though I urgently needed a deep-tissue massage to work out some knots and started to peruse the local offerings on Yelp. Tang Chao came up and I made an appointment for the mid afternoon for a 90 minute massage. Sophie gave me a great, genuinely deep-tissue massage and introduced me to cupping as a part of it. Cupping is it's own unique form of eastern medicine that seeks to draw blood closer to the surface of the skin to then be reabsorbed by the body with an array of beliefs about the resulting health benefits. I can't say it did a lot for me, but I'm glad I tried it. The place is clean, but no-frills. The table is comfortable, but each "room" is tiny. It's definitely a value-oriented place and I'm very pleased with it. Highly recommend it for what it is. read more

I was introduced to this spa a year ago by a good friend. I've been here several times since. It is wonderful to have this so conveniently located. I went there yesterday with that friend and another, and it was another great experience. We each had the full hour massages, with expert masseuses who pinpointed each pressure spot on the body. Even more welcome was the cleanliness and order. It always smells so nice there! The massage was finished off with hot stones (ahh) and a refreshing wash down. Stopped by because I was exceptionally sore from a recent pilates class and couldn't make it to my regular spa. Boy do I regret not taking the trip there! To start, the hostess that greeted me and who answered the phone barely spoke English. I asked if they took cash as I only had my card on my phone and from the broken sentences she responded with, I gathered they did but charged a bit extra for cards. I walked in and noted it looked clean and smelled nice. I requested a 90 min special (60 min body 30 min feet) and was seen immediately and led into a small wooden room and left to change. When the masseuse came in I began to tell her my problem areas and asked if she could do my hands instead of focusing on my feet. She also didn't speak or understand English and proceeded to get the hostess to ask her to translate . She managed to communicate my needs to the masseuse and we began my session. She did an ok job in terms of pressure but didn't seem knowledgeable about tension and knots; as I had to keep pointing out the problem areas she was casually rubbing over. I finally began to enjoy it because she was putting a lot of effort into my problem areas. She used her knuckles, forearm and elbows to target the spots where I was tightest so that was great. The problem was all the NOISE! I could not relax because it was a sound overload! From the stool in the room banging against the floor and wall every time my masseuse moved it, to the rickety table in the neighboring room squeaking with each movement, to the various timers beeping at different times at full volume...it was too much!The floors were like a cheap thin plywood so every footstep sounded like a teacher walking down a hallway. Then the hostess and staff kept talking to one another over the "spa music" using their full voices! Nobody ever even attempted to whisper. Then as if that wasn't bad enough a woman who finished when I was halfway through my massage got into an argument with the hostess and who I assume was the manager. The music was stopped and we were all subjected to 20 minutes of them telling her she couldn't use an old certificate she claimed she got from them. I found my self shushing them and eventually just had to hold my ears for the last 25 minutes just to tune them out and ATTEMPT to enjoy the massage I was being subjected to. My masseuse did a great job kneading the knots in my legs but I felt myself tensing up again whilst listening to the argument, stomping and general staff conversations towards the end. When I finished and went to pay, a Caucasian man who I assume was the manager told me my total ($65). He never asked how everything was but struggled to submit my card payment. Then he asked if I wanted to tip and when I said "sure put $10" had the audacity to say "oh people usually tip $15 or more"! I then said "ummm...do you have any idea how noisy my experience was? I literally spent half my massage covering my ears", to which he never apologized for just shrugged and submitted my payment and generous tip . I'm big on customer service and obviously thats not their strong suit. . I won't be going back there but the massage was "fine"...id bring headphones if you're really trying to relax in there smh read more

TOO LOUD. The workers would not stop talking during my entire massage and they were not using quiet voices at all. At one point one of the women were yelling at the top of her voice in her language. My massage was great and the woman took time on my knots and on my feet, however I kept getting distracted by the talking. Also, they charged me $15 for a lavender oil, I needed it so I agreed however that's way too much for a small bottle of oil, and it's not even organic or cold pressed, just regular oil. There was also a huge language barrier so I was not able to express my concerns and had to keep repeating myself. There are way better places for sure. read more

Super relaxing! Tangchao spa has very professional masseurs with very good skills. The store has fragrance which I really like the smell. I almost fell asleep while enjoying the massage. Feel very comfortable. A highly recommended store. read more

The place is too noisy which does not let you relax. They have to understand that during a massage, outside distractions should be kept to a minimum. Workers barely speak English and most of them are unprofessional. Instead of focusing on the muscles, the lady exerted pressure on my bones, especially the spine and tailbone which resulted in back pain the next day. She was focused only on my neck and shoulder and not paying enough attention to my arms and legs including hands and feet. I had a stressful massage and would never go back. read more

This place was wonderful. I stopped in after passing by on my way home from an appointment for a half hour back massage and they took me right away. Eva gave me one of the most relaxing massages I've ever had. The room itself was clean, had really relaxing music, and the bed was even heated! (Which was a really nice touch). She short petite shoulder length hair like a Bob style front desk came in during my massage 7/11/21 at 6:00 pm for 90 minute saying that my Massauer Peter have another appointment at 6:30 pm for 90 minute. She double book My massauer. She's very rude unprofessional. I only got 30 minutes then she got the nerve to charge me $30 for 30 minutes for her stupid mistake. The most disgusting thing. My massauer ask for his tip. I told him to ask from her. I was so mad. Absolutely worst experience in any business. This is first time I tried to use their services, asked for 30 minutes massage which is 30$, okay no problem, when wanted to pay with card, they immediately said it's 35$ plus, tax, okay not a problem not a big deal right, with tax total 38$, okay I'll pay in front 38$ let's do it, then funny part, do you wanna tip? I said when I see how the massage is I'm gonna decide , ofc it's not a big deal, then I got an answer that I need to tip up front, I said no way, if I like service you get your tip, If I'm not pleased no! Lady at front desk stated, if no tip up front no massage even if you pay, no thank you!
