I have been coming to Salon Dyjo since they have opened and I have been going to Paul even before Salon Dyjo existed. Paul is by far the best in the area and not only he amazing at hair, but he is a kind and sweet person who really cares about his clients. My entire family comes to him, husband, wife, and kids. In addition, they do amazing eyebrows, again the best in the area and at a better price than nail salons. I will never go to anyone else for my eyebrows. I highly recommend! read more

I've been with Salon Dyjo for about 7 years now: Paul is amazing - he is up to date with everything hair and color related, very knowledgeable and skilled. He is a great person and always makes sure that his customers leave happy. Thank you Paul - we love you! read more

Paul is still at it! We both think he is the best hairdresser around. He provides outstanding cuts, suggesting the best style for each individual and how and where they will be seen. He always pays attention to his clients' desires and they get what they want. The shop is smallish and busy but Paul greets each arrival and no one feels ignored in his shop. The music is upbeat and the atmosphere lively. Thanks Paul for your friendship and skill over the years. read more

I got lucky booking a weekend appointment after letting my cut from my old stylist out of state grow far too long over a year. Paul and the stylists were quick, pleasant, and clearly KNOW what they're doing. I will be coming back without question to keep this up, my hair feels and looks wonderful. read more

Salon Dyjo - Paul is hands down the best hairdresser I've ever had. He is up- to-date on all of the styles, is a great colorist and an all-around good person. He clearly wants to make sure that his customers leave happy. He has my total trust. I can't say enough good things about Paul! And his staff! Thank you Paul. read more

Paul is great / and bc he has staff so things go by quickly. When you go to salons that is one person- that double book you but take forever - but not salon dyjo - since they have multiple assistants- he can see multiple people quickly and get everybody in and out in a great time. Plus prices are very reasonable. read more

My mother and I stumbled upon Salon Dyjo 12 years ago when I needed an updo for senior prom. We noticed that everyone was walking out of the salon with haircuts that made them look like a million dollars--everything from teenagers to soccer moms to little old ladies with thick hair, thin hair, grey hair, curly hair, you name it. My mother and I have very difficult hair--the Polynesian genes make our hair very thick, coarse, frizzy, and wavy--so we booked appointments for haircuts a few weeks later, and the rest is history. Although I'm a loyal client of Paul's, everybody's clients seem to walk out looking fantastic. I'm to the point where I just tell Paul to do whatever he wants because it always turns out well. Over the years he's done edgy and fun styles when I was a college student, elegant and easy styles when I started teaching full-time, and now that I'm a grad student with a limited budget, he does styles that will grow out exceptionally well so that I don't have to come back often. Paul's also an incredible colorist; I've done everything from deep reds and maroons to honey-blond highlights to various shades of brown to black with an edgy bluish tint. Considering I'm a wash-and-wear person (as in, it takes a very special occasion for me to even blow my hair dry), it's a miracle that Paul manages to think up so many cool ways to style my hair. I moved from Virginia in 2004 and have since been flying from Ohio and Michigan to get haircuts from Paul when I visit my family. My cousin in Oklahoma and my sister in North Carolina also travel to Paul! I used to think we were weirdos, but one day I sat next to a client who said she'd flown in from Paris just to get her hair cut by Paul. Because I live so far from Salon Dyjo, I have tried other stylists over the years hoping that I can save the cost of a plane ticket back to DC. It never works out, and I go back to Paul who just smiles and fixes the train wreck. Paul feels more like a family friend than my hairstylist, and while I'll be very sad if he ever retires, I have a feeling I'll be flying to Salon Dyjo to get haircuts for as long as it's open. read more

I decided last minute on a Sunday afternoon that I was sick of my current hairstyle and color and on my way home from brunch, I saw Salon Dyjo. Despite already having 2 customers he was working on, Paul, the owner, gave me a brief consultation within 10 minutes of my arrival. He then proceeded to color and highlight my hair and give me an amazing new haircut, too (see my profile photo on this site). The salon also has a good deal for new customers which includes a free haircut w/ purchase of color or highlights. read more

Paul is the best! Very kind, very talented. I love how he does hair color and style. When you ask Paul for a hair trim, he will give you a full haircut. So don't tell him you want a haircut unless you want more than 2 inches if your hair gone! Over all it's well priced and they are open to walks in. In all honesty I had travel overseas to have Paul coloring my hair. read more

honestly I've never been so appalled by 70$ haircut in whole life. Paul did not do a good job he butchered my hair style. I wanted curtain bangs but thats not what I got. I got a clumsy uneven bang that went way too far my middle part. If you want to spend 70$ on a straight haircut this is the place. but if I have a something more advanced, you're only coming here to waste your money on A VERY disappointing haircut. read more

I visited Salon Dyjo about two weeks ago. I showed Paul a picture of the ombre highlights I wanted and I also wanted bangs and a trim. The photo was a girl with brown to blond highlights. I mentioned twice that I specifically didn't want blond, I wanted my hair to go from black at the roots to dark brown to light brown at the tips (standard ombre style). He said "whatever you want, you're the boss". I was there for quite awhile because it seems Paul is the only one actually styling the clients hair. After the shampoo, a lady was blow drying my hair but in the middle of it, she said she'd be back and went outside and I could see her sitting on the bench outside. It didn't appear she was on the phone or anything. She looked like she was just sitting there. The client next to me actually went outside to see if she was okay. It seemed many people there are familiar with them. The client came back and said she'd be right back. I thought it was strange but maybe she was feeling sick or light headed or something. Whatever the case, she was gone for about three minutes and I had no complaints. It wasn't until my hair was trimmed and blow dried that I noticed exactly how blond my hair was. Not to mention the ombre was done the wrong way. He made the blond on the underside of my hair, left it black on top, and mixed some brown (which looked the same brown from my previous highlight job) in between. I expressed my unhappiness with the color and said I wanted my tips to be light brown and not how it was currently done. but Paul tried assuring me "this is how ombre should be done". I have seen ombre highlights a thousand times and this isn't what it looks like. It just looks like a regular highlight job. When I called to make the appointment they acted like they knew exactly what ombre highlights were. I'm definitely disappointed with this hairstyle. I feel like I completely wasted my $120 I saved to do these highlights, (including using yelp discount). I only gave three stars because of how nice the staff was. And I will say my hair does look nice, it's just exactly NOT what I wanted. And he forgot to cut my bangs, but by that point I just wanted to get out of there. read more

Paul is by far the best hair professional by far. He does the hair of my mom, aunt, and all of their friends. I have grown up going to Paul and will never go to anyone else. After growing my hair out for years I wanted to donate it but was hesitant on sporting very short hair. Not knowing what exactly I wanted Paul cut off 13 inches to donate and gave me a great short look! Also, on a different occasion I decided to color my jet black, very thick hair and again, without knowing exactly what I wanted to do Paul added beautiful highlights without damaging my hair. He is very professional and amazing at what he does! read more

I am so thrilled with how my hair turned out after visiting Paul the other day. I showed up with a brassy, orange mess, an unfortunate product of my former hairdresser at another salon. Paul was able to turn it back into the perfect ashy blonde along with giving my hair a healthy trim while leaving plenty of length. I have been going to Paul on and off over the last 12 years, and every time I come back I wonder why I ever went elsewhere (mainly because I am not close to Springfield). He is so warm and friendly and he is so good at what he does. The salon is a little far for me, but well worth the drive and I fully plan on returning! Thanks again! read more

Paul is amazing! He cuts, colors, and styles better than anyone I've ever been to. I have been going to him for over 10 years and every time I leave the salon I feel like a million bucks! Paul listens to what I want and gives suggestions as well. He is the only hairdresser who blows my hair out the way I like it and my cuts grow out beautifully (the sign of a really good cut!) so I'm never in a rush to get back in and I'm never snipping my own hair in between appointments. He has plenty of assistants and so I can always get in to see him quickly. I highly recommend Salon Dyjo and Paul read more

Paul us the worst. Beware-- if you want to keep any length to your hair do no see Paul. But if you do want to have very short hair Paul will gladly hack it all off. I went for a TRIM and he chopped two inches off the length in the back. He is a stubborn old man who does not listen to client requests. Hope he retires soon and doesn't cause any more havoc to women's hair. read more

I'm giving this place two stars because Paul was nice and he offered I come back if I didn't like my hair and the lady who blow dried my hair was amazing. I thought I liked my hair when I got an amazing blowout. But when I got home, I saw the back and looked closer at my uneven choppy layers in the front. I hate my hair so much I'm not going to risk going back or getting it fixed until I grow it out. The layers in the front are so short that I look like there's a mushroom growing on the top of my head. This is what happens when you wait last minute to schedule a haircut with your usual hairdresser and call around and take an appointment elsewhere. He also cut more off my head than I anticipated, probably 3 inches if not more. I mean I did have badly damaged hair but damn, what happened to consulting the client? Gosh I hate my hair but I'm not going back to get it fixed. It's such an inconvenience and I don't want my hair to be any shorter. read more

I don't get my hair cut often maybe 2 times a year. Paul is someone I always went to and i was always happy with the end result up until my last visit. I came in for a color and cut. Everything was going good until they washed the color out. They didn't put any products in my hair !? They always do. Paul cut my hair really fast and I could tell something looked wrong but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. But next thing you know he was done and passed me over the blow drying girl. And it looked horrible. I got straight bangs and they didn't even flat iron my hair like they usually do. I went home and freaked out because I had no layers just bangs and length. I was so upset so I decided to come back in and have him add layers. Bad idea .... He cut my hair dry the layers are off with a razor and now my hair looks rigid and when I wear my hair in a pony tail you can clearly see 2 different lengths. My bangs are also way to short.. I'm overall unhappy and will not return.. I'm not sure what happened. I've been wearing my hair up in a bun for weeks because it looks so bad. I'm scared to go somewhere else and have it fixed because I already took off so much length. read more

Nagi has been doing my hair for years. I have curly and thick hair and he is the only hairdresser that knows how to cut my hair. He does an awesome job blow drying it straight too. I get compliments all the time. You won't be disappointed. read more

Paul has a talent for making you look and feel beautiful! Well worth my 180 mile drive. The entire staff there makes you feel welcome.

Salon Dyjo is the only place I trust with my hair, I've been going to Paul since I was around 5 or 6 and whether he is doing a cutt, color, or updo, he never lets me down, he is one of the only stylist I've met who tries to mantain a personal relationship with his clients, every client who comes in has the same love and admiration for Paul and his work, he is amazing! Trust me Salon Dyjo will not let you down! read more

Had a haircut done by Maria. She used a #4 clipper on the side, which surprisingly was not too short, and did a sissor cut on the top and sides. I have slightly wavy hair so it's hard for most people to cut it evenly but Maria did a great job. I'll definitely go back again. read more

I have been going here since primary school--Paul is fantastic. Cuts are wonderful, but I'd be wary about color. The salon is not as up to date with more modern looks (ombre, darker highlights, etc), but is still my safety! I love this place and definitely recommend it if you want a fabulous cut (I have only ever had my hair done by Paul). Be sure to make an appointment because they seem to be short-handed a lot of the time. Bottom line: Great for cuts & color if you're not looking for something super modern. read more

This was my first visit and Paul made me feel like I was one of his long-time customers and he did my hair the way he wanted. And he is right, after I shampooed myself this morning, the hair looks fantastic! Too bad that I don't live near by, but I may drive 30 mins to there just for that ! Thanks Paul! read more

Nagi is my stylist. He is absolutely amazing, and does wonders with my hair. I would recommend him to anyone. :-)

I have been going to Paul for 18 years and I have NEVER left unhappy. My daughter leaves there feeling beautiful every time as well!

This is one of the most unprofessional salons in the norther virginia area. Paul cut my hair in a matter of 8 minutes and messed up by hair. He did not care to follow my instructions and practically shaved my head. Please if you want to avoid dealing with incompetent people, avoid this salon. read more

Paul is amazing. I have been going to him for over 15 years. I accidentally stumbled on his shop when he was in Springfield Mall and I have never gone anywhere else. I found Naji a few years ago when he worked at Salon Virage and followed him to Salon Dyjo. If you are looking for someone who can do hair color and make it look like you were born with the color or add highlights or just give you a fantastic hair cut--make an appointment with Nagi. I always have people ask me where I get my hair done. Fantastic hair designs perfect for any special occasion. read more

I LOVE Paul he is knows what your hair needs and he delivers a five star service. Go see him and he will work his magic on you

Hi, I had recently paid a trip to salon djyo, I've been going for a few months now and my visits have mostly been sketchy. One time I went , I wasn't answered or helped until I had gone into the back room myself to find that they were having brunch. Secondly I was given the wrong exchange and overcharged. Paul said the prices have gone up. I used to pay 25$ for a men's haircut and shampoo and he had raised it to 35-40$ !! To me that was unacceptable and when I had to him it wasn't a fair price he said find some place else. I couldn't believe he had said that to me , I think you could find better service at a hair cuttery down the road from salon djyo. I've noticed he has ALOT of first time customers that never come back because of his prices. He's too overrated and doesn't meet the qualities of a professional hair stylist or what people make him of. I wont ever go back there again, in my perspective I think Paul's a THEIF!!!! I tell you hes a THEIPPP!!!! read more

I highly recommend this salon! Paul is fantastic! He can make you look great if you give him control of what hairstyle you need. The best part for me is that I am very bad about getting regular haircuts so when I go for 4-5 months between cuts...it still looks nice. I get compliments on a REGULAR basis from complete strangers ..in the elevator, on the street. It really is amazing. If you want to look good...go to Salon Dyjo and ask Paul to make you beautiful! read more

I have been going to Paul for many years and i have never been disappointed. I am not one to want a hair cut that requires much maintenance and I fail to get it cut regularly enough, so I need something that is easy and can last 3-5 months. He always comes through! I have strangers tell me I have such a great cut and that it never looks bad even though it is growing out. I cannot recommend him enough, although Saturdays get kind of busy! read more

I have got the worst hair color and cut in my entire life.I went to Paul on June 2015 and my hair was jet black and I asked for dark cherry black or eggplant black. He bleach my hair and I do not know why.?It is not that I wanted to go lighter color and he had ten more client to take care.He does not say no to any body and his help is shampoo girls .He does not respect your time and all he cares is making more money. The result of my hair was disaster and he care less.He left bleach on my hair for almost two houres until I complain that my skull is burning .When he checked smoke was coming from my hair and he made a joke that I can fry an eggs on my head.I hate what he did to my hair and it has been almost six months and my hair still damage. He never apologize or admit his disaster work.I am still very angrey and he creat a lot off cost for correcting my hair.Paul you should be ashamed of yourself. read more
