Well, let me start off with I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MISTREATED IN MY LIFE BEFORE, neither has my 13 year old.
We got a Groupon for partial highlights for my kid. I dyed my hair when i was 12,( 35 now) and I come from ussr, Soviet union. So I'd assume it's OK for a 13 year have a little but of partial highlights for the summer, consider she's been good in school and has very unmanageable hair, so its time for refreshment and a cut. But according to this awful place SHE'S TOO YOUNG. upon entering the place, you expect "hello, how are you, welcome.." right!? WRONG. NOT AT THIS DUMP we were greeted with a drawn face of our hairstylist who had obviously been having a shitty day already.. When she asked who the appointment was she responded with, mind you, the face is till a frown "OMG SHE'S JUST SO YOUNG FOR HIGHLIGHTS" Umm lady, if your salon has age guidelines, OK, I'll follow them, just say so, BUT IT DOESN'T, SO HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECTING ME AND MAKING MY KID FEEL LIKE SHIT!???? what is wrong with you!? I respectful said "it's OK, we're not getting a complete transformation here, it's just highlights, will you take her or not?!" she said "fine, OK.." OK so from this point on, there should be no problems, no issues NO ATTITUDE, right!? well, not according to our hairstylist. When she asked what we wanted I said " something like this" and showed a picture my daughter and I had previously selected.. To which the stylist protested with "but this isn't highlights, it's blah blah, something different" OK lady, I said " fine this is what I was told, that this is highlights, that's why we wanted setting LIKE THIS." I didnt say WE WANT THIS EXACT THING. I said "something like this.. This color is pretty" to which she proceeded with arguing about the style of the hair on the picture and that I'd have to pay extra if I wanted that exact thing.. OMG lady, you are dense and I feel sorry for your clients, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S A YOUNG CLIENT LIKE MY TEEN who's never had her hair done and Im, as a mother, simply trying to give my daughter a special gift for her bday here, for the love of God.
I replied with "OK, you're not understanding me. I didn't say I want EXACT SAME THING. FINE, OK, THIS ISN'T HIGHLIGHTS. BUT CAN YOU HEAR WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY!? WE WANT THIS COLOR OR SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR" i didn't yell lol typing in caps Cuz I WANTED TO YELL. I'd never start a fight with a person who I'm never going to see ever again.. Not worth it.. Plus my 13 year old is sitting in the chair, she's more important than a haircut or color.. But I want to make sure I spent all this money on something my daughter is going to like, right!? So u continue trying to explain the lady that 1. I'm not a hair dresser, I don't know these colors, styles.. So if it's not highlights then can you just do something SIMILAR TO THIS PICTURE!? 2. I know what I paid for, I didn't pay for balyage, no need to make me feel stupid. I get balyage done every 6 months, I know the difference between balyage and partial highlights. She continues insulting me, smirking at her friend, stylist, who kept rolling her eyes on me WHICH I CAN CLEARLY SEE. even my kid noted that as well. I'm, at this point, completely out of breath and very upset. Not yelling, just trying to get to the bottom of this issue that the dresser for some reason kept having. Basically, the owner of the place came up to us and asked what's up. I explained, she explained, we put an end to it. You know how!? SHE LISTENED AND DIDN'T ARGUE!!!! that's all! She allowed me to explain what we wanted without judging my daughter age and making me feel like I'm a bad mother because Im lettingy kid to have partial highlights which is clearly 1.none of your concern 2. Every 13 year old has some sort of crazy shit happening to their hair these days and my kid all of a sudden is being judged for it!? Wow! I'm an amazing mother and raised my child on my own to be a decent human being. I do spiritual work for homeless and diseased. I work with every age every stage of PEOPLE, I get my hair done at different salons every 6-8 months because of Groupon deals, trying to save some money AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED LIKE TOTAL SHIT EVER IN MY LIFE BEFORE. you have no rights talking to me the way you did upon me entering your salon, making me feel so unwelcomed and humiliated because I showed you a picture and didn't know the details... So what, you asked me what I wanted or had in mind.. So I showed it to you... Then, you proceeded insulting me, smirking, rolling your eyes with your friend and telling me I was doing something wrong when in reality I was trying to convey the message for my teen. Your job was to greet me with a smile, offer me coffee or water, without judgment or hesitation offer my grown kid to go to her chair, allow me to explain what I wanted without assuming I didn't know what it was and what I paid for.. If you couldn't understand me you should've asked me read more
