Uneven acrylic laid and horrendous design

Pictures speak for themselves. This was at the beginning of the year and have had nail growth issues since. If you would like long nails, coffin shaped, (what I asked for) or you would like ANY designs, even as simple as a heart, DO NOT GO HERE. I left balling my eyes out and was so disappointed. I paid $65 for the length, design and set.

I really wanted to like this place since it close to my neighborhood and I know these ladies work hard. The customer service is poor, and they don't seem interested in doing the extra to make you feel like this is a spa environment unless you get the pedicure, which was nice. My nails were ruined twice also. They were not interested in trying to understand what I was asking for and if you tried to clarify anything, they seemed irritated, as if I am going to be a difficult customer. I think communication is key. And how about heating up the water for the nail soak, or offering a bottle of water. Nope. I tried it because my son bought me a gift certificate. they told they'd also give me a discount, which is available for new customers and I didn't get that either. read more

I was so excited to try this nail salon close to my house especially since the reviews were so good. Everyone was very friendly to me (including the owner), but unfortunately I left with nails that am embarrassed of. The nails are very thick and look super unnatural, but worst of all my natural nails are visible from the side of the fake nail. In addition to this, 3 of my fingers and 2 of my toes were cut and bled during the service. The lady who did my nails was very nice, but told me she was having trouble because my nails are shaped weird. Hm. I've been getting my nails done for years at other places and never had any issues. It's only the second day and one of my nails are lifting already. It seems like they were placed on top of the cuticle so I expect that the others will start lifting soon. At the place I visit regularly, I pay around $40 for a full set and pedi but here I paid over $75 (after tip). I'm sad to write this review because of how nice everyone was, but in the future I am not willing to pay this price for nails that I am so unhappy with. read more

Sherrell is the best person I've had doing my waxes EVER! She's gentle (if you can be gentle when giving a wax), yet quick. She's knowledgeable about the products provided and she always has me laughing during my wax (which helps because it hurts, ya know?!) I prefer Waxing the City over other establishments. The wax they use is better and less harsh on my skin. I always get in and out in a reasonable time, and the customer service from the moment I walk in, to the minute I walk out, is always impeccable. It was a little hard to find but her daughter guided me there on the phone while I was lost. Initially it was a little off putting as I thought they might not be as sanitary because the wax was dark colored. I later found out she doesn't use wax but sugar. This process reduces irritation to the skin & is less painful. In my 35 years of life, I have only been waxed once when I was 19 for a pool party. I vowed never to do it again because of all the pain & skin irritation I experienced afterwards. There was minimal pain & absolutely no skin issues after this procedures. Rudy's nail salon isn't anything fancy to look at on the outside nor on the inside but God's Angels sure resides there. Who wouldn't want to visit a place where angels chill at :) How my friend and I know? We were touch by them. We were walk-in's and sadly disappointed when Jenny asked if we could come back in 3 hrs. 3 HOURS?! We both agreed it would be to our benefit because the salon felt so warm and inviting. We respected the honesty that Jenny gave us, her honest response was they couldn't take us at that time 1. Don't tell us "30 minutes" and the wait be 1 1/2 hrs ( yall know that's how they do). #2. Respect the next appointment scheduled, people have stuff to do. #3. Don't rush through our service because you wanna make a dollar and slop up our toes (men have feet fetishes, we both single soooo). REAL talk! Upon our return, our techs was waiting on us. They took their time, made sure we liked our colors, chiseled our calluses and made sure we were completely satisfied with service rendered. The nail salon is old school, they still use Wide Rule tablets and pencils at least that cuts down on overhead prices which passes down to the customers. Shellac nail polish take off is on $5 and shalac polish $7 ( I think) all VERY old school prices. I had a broken toenail to replace was only $5 and my tech built me a new toenail free hand. NOT all techs can do that, I usually tell techs to put a fake nail because I want both toes to match they MUST look flawless. We was so happy with our service that my good friend returned 2 days later for a manicure. We BOTH returned a few days later, I broke a nail and there was NO way on earth, I was going over across several state like that. Rudy's Salon is HIGHLY RECOMMEND by Elite Yelpers and general public! As for the durability, my nails did start to lift after nine days. I had some lifting on two nails, and my sets usually last me a full month. I also noticed they did not feel as hard as my Gel X normally does. The tips felt like they had a little bend to them, which I am not used to. So are they the best nails I have ever had? My first visit here was quick in and out because I was in a rush and it was the closes Nail salon to me, HOWEVER, they still managed to do a great job so I decided to try them out again. I did both a full-set shellac and pedicure. Nail tech Katie is AMAZING! Highly recommend her. Not only was the staff attentive and was great in servicing me, they also were attentive to my 4 year old son that tagged along. Salon De Nails is most definitely going to be my new nail salon. I've been going to Salon De Nails and their other location, Nail Infinity, for 8 years. Linh does a great job on my nails, whether I'm getting acrylic or Gel polish. The pedicures are great as well and so relaxing. I always make an appointment and they have my chair ready for me. Great customer service and a high quality manicure and pedicure!! read more

I wish that Mindy would have done my fill in closer to the cuticle, but they look great. A little on the pricy side, if you ask me.
