Went in today for some highlights, a root touchup and a haircut. My hair is ridiculously short. No prices were posted anywhere. Nobody explained what the cost were. The total came out to over $360. That is an insane amount of money for short hair with color and a cut. This is not a high-end shop. It looks worn out. People are dressed like slobs in there, and the mere fact that I was charged what I was charged is inexcusable and when speaking to the owner, she offered nothing but to pay for my next root touchup which would then lead me to be charged $290 versus $360 to get my hair done. I have been to many high-end shops in Garden City, New York, which is a high-end town and have never in my life been charged this much in the 40 years I've been getting my hair done in salons. I would stay clear of this place. If you're gonna spend a lot of money don't do it here it's not worth it. read more

I have used this salon for a few years for highlights and cuts. For that, I have had no problems. I would recommend justin highly for both... however, I had a wedding to attend in Florida. I went for a consult, and with naturally wavy hair, 5-6 stylists all agreed a spiral perm would be a good way to control my curls etc. they made my appointment for 3 days prior to trip. Tammy did the "perm," and it was a complete mess. I went in the next day, and was told I should have had a cut first? That wouldn't be done right away? If I believed my hair would like like crap, I would have gotten highlights (which I could finally get done now after about two months. I've always wanted a long, spiral perm. They are coming back in style, but where they would not refund the money, they instead sent me home with different products. The amount of hair cut off means I could not get that done. Wow, justin is amazing here! During my lunch break I needed my hair blown out, so I Yelped some local salons. Now I have never been here before, but I decided to give it a shot. I called the salon day of, and was able to get an appointment. The salon ktself has a small parking lot, however there is street parking. Upon walking in, the salon is pretty big. To the left they have a huge makeup station and a backdrop for photos. Theres at least 10 stylist chairs. I checked in and wsited to be taken. Justin greeted me and escorted me to the back to be washed. She was super thorough im washing my hair and even gave me a great scalp massage. I have alot of thick curly hair, but Justin blew out my hair in 30 mins! I loved the way she blew it out with a curl at the bottom! The pricing was amazing too! She is so nice, and for only $25 for the best blowout ever, i don't know why you wouldn't get one every week! I also saw her for a quick updo, and got so many compliments!! I'm confused how this place has any legit reviews. I am from Southern California and when I spend money on hair/massage or nails, usually the person performing the service is somewhattt friendly. Salon Beyond completely missed the mark on that. Salon Beyond is BEYOND BELIEF AMAZING!!!! I was in town for a wedding nearby and LUCKED OUT by finding this salon. I've reviewed luxury high-end salons as Luxury Travel Editor of a magazine and this salon rivals any!!! The colorists are sooo talented. Chrissy there gave me a beautifully precise haircut with glowing STUNNING highlights. --after taking a flight from LA to NY, my long blonde hair (truthfully) looked a mess. No one there blinked or looked nervous. (And now I know why!) ---they are experts in hair!! For the past 10 years I have been traveling from Queens to Long Island to get my hair done at Salon Beyond because they're just that GOOD! I've loved every single one of my experiences here so far. The vibe is so friendly and chill, I look forward to coming in. I have never been kept waiting on any appointment. If they say 11:00am, they are ready for you at 11:00am. My hairdresser is Chrissy and she is FANTASTIC! Every cut/color/highlight/styling I've ever requested her to do, she's nailed it. She does exactly what you ask her to do with your hair with such perfection. Sometimes, when I go there, I don't really know what I want and she is always full of great ideas and makes sure that I'm happy with the end result. She's also a great human being and she has such funny stories.....I look forward to our chats. LOVE HER! The rest of the staff is great as well. No one snobby here. When you walk in, you'll find Moselle at the front desk who is always there to greet you with a warm smile and some good humor. Paulette, the owner, who is also a stylist there is so down to earth and cool. She makes sure that all the clients are comfortable and happy. As a matter of fact, ALL of the staff is very attentive and courteous to their clients' needs. Whether you need a magazine, a beverage, something to munch on, or even some privacy to undergo your maintenance, they are happy to oblige. The place is always packed with clients and they do get busy but I've never felt rushed while I'm there. I don't know how they do it, but sometimes I feel like I'm the only one there because of all the attention. The décor at the new location in Carle Place is fabulous. Hardwood floors, lots of natural sunlight, brick wall, beautiful oversized mirrors, trendy lighting and stations. Very Soho chic without the attitude! The staff also adds to the décor. Such a wonderful place! The staff makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. There is a warmth to the place as well, I'm not sure I can explain it. It's comfortable, clean, nicely lit, and not stuffy. My hairstylist is Sammy and she is amazing! She always has a smile and makes me feel so glam. Been to their old location in garden city and was not super impressed. I asked for a shade lighter than my dark brown hair and ended up with orange hair and paid $300 for it. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I tried them again at their carle place location. I simply asked for jet black hair, cut and blow, it took me four hours to get out of there. I had color all over me and my "stylist" passed over my blow dry to a new girl that took 40 minutes to blow out my hair and I honestly could have done better. Additionally, for $160 I should have been informed that the black dye they used was semi permanent. I found out the hard way when it wouldn't stop washing out of my hair for 3 weeks. First let me start with how I came to Salon Beyond. A couple of years back I needed a cut and living in Manhattan at the time I didn't greatly have. Apple that could provide me with what I needed on Long Island. I was searching for a place and came across Salon Beyond, even though they were busy they still were able to squeeze me in with Lauren(more on her later). This all occurred at the old location but first and foremost Lauren took the time to truly understand what I wanted. I will be honest I am a difficult customer I'm 100% sure of that. I am not very patient and want my hair styles a very specific way. Lauren was 100% patient with me and made sure my haircut and styling came out exactly how I wanted it. I couldn't of asked for anything more, well actually a nice glass of Scotch couldn't hurt(just kidding. Once I left Salon Beyond I couldn't recommend it to enough people and I could y recommend Lauren to enough people, she was truly amazing. Fast forward to today and for all of those who are living under a rock and did not know they moved. I honestly like the new place way better I love the cozy feel and I love the setup. This place must have a better ventilation system as well since you barely, if any at all, smell the chemicals. The new place also looks way nicer, well mainly because it's new. Other then the aesthetics of the new place you are getting exactly the same service with the same great people. I still go in every few week and get my hair cut and styles by Lauren and very single time she does a perfect job. I also enjoy my time in the chair because Lauren pays attention to me and we discuss a variety of different topics other then my hair. One of the worst salons I have ever walked into by far. The owner has no sense whatsoever of proper customer service and relations. She cares more about what she is going to charge you than about making you a satisfied customer. I have walked out time and time again dissatisfied, prices included. Absolutely ridiculous. Customers beware, don't listen to a damn word their receptionist says over the phone about pricing. You'll be paying double that by the time your hair is half dry. A piece of advice to the staff from someone who could have sent tons of people in as referrals but realized it wasn't worth having them be as upset as I have been - check your attitudes. I am a not a regular customer at Salon Beyond. I live in NYC and was on LI for a wedding. Traffic made me two hours late for my appointment and made it tight to get to the reception on time. I was sweaty and harried but they were wonderful. They had no problem adjusting my appointment. I was walking from my hotel and got lost. I called and they talked me through the directions. When I did get there they welcomed me. Samantha sat me in her chair, got me some water, talked to me about what I wanted to achieve and started to work on my hair. She kept checking in and asking if what she just did was what I wanted. She HEARD me. She got me out in record time without making me feel rushed. She was amazing and so were the other stylists. And my hair was perfect. I walked out feeling confident and sexy. I received so many compliments. Samantha had given me extra bobby pins in case I needed it later in the night. But I didn't. My hair stayed and that NEVER happens for me, NEVER. I still had sexy hair after a night of dancing! I am considering making Salon Beyond my regular place. Beyond happy with my hair cut! First off the place inside is really nice, clean, modern and friendly atmosphere. This was my first time there. They have a convenient parking lot right on the side. Ahead of coming to town for a wedding, I scoured Yelp reviews for guidance selecting a salon for a blow-out, and selected Salon Beyond and Justin for do my hair. I'm pretty fussy about both style and ongoing hair issues (thinning and frizzy). Justin seemed pretty no-nonsense/get-to-work and definitely has vision, but was great about making adjustments mid-way through to suit my tastes. I got a GORGEOUS blow-out: full of body, movement and shine. That, plus an unexpected dusting of colored powder to further mask the thinning (SO thoughtful). I immediately relaxed when Justin finished. On a windy day walking back to my hotel (are there no available cabs in this town?!), my hair held up beautifully for the wedding and I felt very confident and pretty. Days later, my hair still looks terrific; I ran into the owner of my trusted salon back home in Philadelphia while out shopping, and she complimented my look!
