As a first time client (and very picky) i was nervous to try a new place.. but as soon as i walked in i was treated so well, the energy was amazing and i immediately knew i made the right choice. When i sat in the chair Alex was so friendly and listened to my requests. He explained to me what would look best with my face shape, my hair type etc. I trusted him and he executed to a T! He is very knowledgeable, sweet and cares about his clients. I would recommend him 10000%. Overall experience was phenomenal. Nube absolutely saved my life!! I had an awful experience with another colorist and went to Salon Prime for help. Even from the first call and consultation, they were so comforting, and they assured me they could fix this terrible dye job I received from another salon. Nube and her assistant worked for hours on my hair, and the finished result was so amazing I could cry. They gave me a balayage I spent years of trying to achieve from other stylists. So Saraí, the office manager, reached out to me. We had a really good convo and she kept apologizing and said she would be sending out products to help my hair get their curls back and I could come back in to have someone else fix the color with a toner. I told her I was honestly scared to go back. So I'll update again with photos if I go back. Then I receive a text from Saraí stating that she also refunded me. I never requested a refund. They honestly went above and beyond to make me feel better. I should've reached out to the salon first and then wrote the review. I'm leaving the review for transparency. Sometimes when you're frustrated you just act. Hopefully, in another month, I can review something even better. Was so excited to try this highly rated salon. Went for a consultation and was encouraged by the stylist's assurances that they could definitely create great color, cut and styling for my problem hair. Had loads of great sounding suggestions. Went back for my appointment about a week later and the stylist clearly had no idea who I was. Thought I was a client they already knew. Asked me if we were going to go with the same color as last time! The stylist never checked on my color the entire time. When my timer went off I had to look around for a couple of minutes before someone finally said to go to the sink where I sat for a least another 5 minutes. Finally someone noticed I was getting visibly agitated and came over to wash out the color. Then came the cut. And I mean cut. I've never had my hair cut like this especially since the consultation conversation was very specific about not doing what was done. The 'styling' had me in tears in their bathroom afterwards. At checkout I was asked if I wanted to make my next appointment. Seriously? Two stars for the lovely person who washed out the color. read more

This isn't a salon, its an experience. To start, the aesthetic of this parlor is gorgeous. As soon as I walked in I was in a positive, clean, and crisp atmosphere. I was greeted instantly with a smile and a warm greeting by reception where I was offered a cappuccino while I waited for my cosmetologist. Within minutes I was taken back, with a cup of coffee in hand, to my salon chair. Alexa was the true MVP of this experience. She brought me back and had such a positive attitude and chill vibe. She listened intently to what I wanted to my incredibly damaged hair and took my concerns into consideration before beginning the treatment. Only after a thorough assessment of my hair she began dying my biggest insecurity away. Within the next hour my hair was literally transformed from a shaggy brunette to a beautiful blond. After looking in the mirror I felt my confidence rise and had the biggest smile on my face, and I wasn't done yet! After Alexa finished the coloring process, Nathan came over, offered an introduction, listened to what I wanted, and successfully delivered. I had the most amazing experience at Salon Prime. Parking is a bit tricky around this area, as it is right inside downtown RVC. But there is paid muni parking right behind the salon. Everything looked fresh, bright, and clean as soon as you walk in the door. All of the stylists and assistants were very courteous. I had a gift certificate for a hair cut. No problems at all getting it redeemed and no one made me feel like I was getting any less of a service because of it. My stylist was Noah. He was very enthusiastic, and you could tell that he has great passion for his craft. They have a ring light and white back drop for before and after photos, if you want to get those shots. The service was very quick and efficient. The salon was also more spacious than I thought. I imagine they get pretty booked up on the weekends, but you should not feel crowded here. All of the people who work here were very enthusiastic, which made me even more excited for the first haircut I was getting since COVID started. I walked in with a horrible haircut from the day before by a different salon stylist and Nathan (the owner of Salon Prime) fixed it. He was honest with me because he told me to grow out my bangs instead of cutting them just for the sake of fixing it. He gave me a seamless and well blended haircut and I couldn't be happier. The only thing I was unhappy with was the cost of the service. $85 for a haircut is pricey and very unreasonable. Otherwise, my experience was great and I highly recommend. read more

I made an appointment to with Alexandra to correct previous blonde highlights on my brunette hair that I didn't like. We spoke about what I was trying to achieve and I asked her for some guidance as well since I wasn't quite sure what was possible with my current color. We ended up doing a full head of highlights with a glaze. The end result came out BEAUTIFULLY. The difference in my color is night and day, I have already received so many compliments. Alexandria is extremely skilled at what she did was and I would highly recommend her for any color service. She also does extensions! She was very kind, attentive and professional as well. Afterwards I got a haircut from Alex who is also lovely and gave me a fantastic haircut. He has a vision for each persons hair while also taking into account their personal goals for how they want to look. This review is long over due. I came here a few weeks back in desperate need of a miracle. Lets just say I watched 1 too many YouTube videos on "at home bleaching" and ended up with a big ball of orange hay on my head. With my best friends wedding two days away, I knew I had to fix my hair asap. Within a few minutes I stumbled upon Salon Prime - and thank Goddddd I did. I called them immediately letting them know my situation and without hesitation they booked me for that same day. Finally a Long Island salon that gives you a true NYC salon experience!!! From the white washed wooden floors to the ready made cappuccinos - they do not play here! I was lucky enough to get John to color my hair, who made me feel so comfortable answering all my annoying questions, putting all my nerves to ease. He definitely knows what hes doing and it shows with his work. He turned my nasty looking reese's cup head to a beautiful, rich chocolate brown - I was (and still am!!) so happy with the results. My hair felt so silky and soft from just the short hour I was in his chair. Next I was off to Nathan. Gurrrrrrrrrrrl he is something else. He started flip flopping my hair back and forth, chopping away and I was living for it. It was hands down the most entertaining hair cut I've ever had. I am crying over the horrible result I got from this salon. I came in with a blonde balayage (from a different salon) and asked for a blonde balayage that started closer to my root as well as a medium shag haircut. I also asked specifically for a shag that does not look like a mullet. (It's important to note, that my natural hair is dark, but it does not have any previous black/dark dye in it.) After 8 hours spent here, I really tried to convince myself that what I saw in the mirror was what I asked for. I tried to remain calm and didn't say much because I was in shock. My stylist tried to fix my over toned hair by toning it another 2x afterwards with zero improvement. I think he knew how bad the result was and this impacted the haircut he gave me - a mullet shag. What did I do to deserve this?! I'm not trying to sound like whoa is me, but I received the complete opposite of what I asked for. I walked in with long blonde hair and left with a grey washed out mullet. I called first thing this morning for a total refund, but they were only willing to refund the color and cut minus the olaplex treatment. Why not refund the olaplex treatment too? What's the point when my hair looks and feels like shit now?! I am not being vindictive; I truly am upset over this. Yeh it's just hair and it grows back, but I hate how I look now. Update: The owner contacted me and asked if I would be willing to come back in a few weeks to make things right. He never apologized to me and he gave the excuse that some clients are not always happy with their results. That's a great freaking explanation from a salon with a verified license. Wth does that even mean?! It sure as hell doesn't mean anything after they butchered my hair. The only positive thing is my olaplex treatment was refunded as well. I can't go back to this salon because my experience was an absolute nightmare. Two days later, I went to Aria Salon in Roslyn where the stylist was forced to cut inches off in order to give me a semblance of a haircut. Hakan from Aria Salon showed me how much damage Noah (from Salon Prime) did to my hair. Almost all of my hair is broken and I have split ends everywhere that look like winter wheat. I am so angry and literally the only thing that would fix this is getting the most shortest pixie cut or shave my head like Britney Spears. I took down my review initially, but I decided it is fair to share my experience. This was my worst hair color and cut ever at a salon. It will take at least 3 years for my hair to grow back to the length it was initially, especially since it continues to break off every day. read more
