Although I knew that only one of the stylists was particularly well-known on Instagram, I was assured that everyone there was experienced and that I would be in good hands. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, especially considering the price. I was asked to arrive on time, which I completely understand, but I did have to wait a little after arriving. That wasn't a big deal at all. What bothered me more was that my stylist didn't look at any of the inspirational pics I had saved to show her. Instead, as I was describing what I wanted, I was told that the style I wanted was something they do "all day, every day," which made me feel confident that I was in good hands, so I didn't press on it too much. Unfortunately, the final result looked very different from what I had asked for. I completely understand that everyone's hair is different and that a particular style may not turn out exactly the same on every person. However, the photos I had (which she didn't look at) were of hair that was quite similar to mine, so I expected at least a closer interpretation of the look I was going for. I left feeling like my vision wasn't really heard or taken into consideration. When I asked about the price beforehand, I was told it would be $100 and up. I was surprised because I have never paid that much for a wash, cut, and blowout, but I was willing to pay it for a good experience and a result I loved. The final price, however, was $150. Apparently the stylist on IG starts at $150 and "up". The price itself wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much if I had walked out feeling happy with my hair. Unfortunately, I didn't. For $150, I expected a much higher level of service, attention to what I requested, and, most importantly, a result that reflected the style I came in asking for. I don't like leaving negative reviews, and I understand that things don't always turn out perfectly. But I feel this salon is significantly overpriced for the service I received. I have NEVER paid $150 for a wash, cut, and blowout, and based on my experience, I unfortunately don't feel the service justified the cost and I don't think I will return.

It is really an experience from the moment you walk in until you depart. I sat in a beautiful waiting area and soaked in the atmosphere. My barber Yosef greeted my and it was like meeting an old friend for the very first time. As I sat down in the chair, Yosef asked me what I wanted and consulting with me, we figured out a new look for my hair. He continually said "I want to do exactly what you want so you are happy" this attitude was amazing and it showed in the care he took to his craft. I have been to many barbershops/salon in 37 years but this was different. My barber had a vision and he truly put in the work to visualize it. My cut was a processes and honestly it felt like not one single hair that was supposed to be cut was left. He did not miss and his attention and care to detail showed. The entire experience with a hot towel shave (you have to try it) was worth it and more. It is not your typical barbershop prices but given it was more than "just a barbershop," wonderful friendly staff, knowledgeable barbers, and I walked out with a new look. Roman's barbershop is hands down the best barbershop I've ever been to. Approximately a year and a half ago I began looking for a new barber/barbershop because I wasnt happy with a few things about where I was going. I've had my haircut by a few different barbers hear, all of which were extremely talented and skilled. Ronnie is definitely my favorite although hes not usually there on Monday. I discovered them on Instagram and after seeing many amazing haircut photos and my last horrible experience from the shop I frequented the last 25 years of my life I gave them a shot. The first time I went in happened to be a Monday after Avi [another talented barber] finished my haircut and shave he offered me a free black mask facial. This place and the people who work hear treat you like family, they appreciate your business, the owner adam loves and cares about the community and his patrons. Adam always is doing something for the community and customers weather it's free donuts or soda/beer/juice box for little ones. They throw amazing holiday parties, they always ask what you do for work or if your looking for work because they come in contact with so many people and want to support you just like you are supporting them by being a paying customer. I've never gotten a bad cut hear, in fact I've seen them FIX such bad haircuts by other shops I cant even count it on both hands. I'll be a customer of Roman's Barber Shop for life. I feel bad it took me a year to leave a review it's just I've gotten so many compliments since coming in thursday it be wrong not to pay homage to the ones who made this fat guy look and feel so fly! Waited anxiously for the door to open at 9am this morning Sunday 6/14/2020. I say anxiously because I too am a professional Hairstylist and am always met with some type of resistance in getting my haircut, I too deserve a nice haircut and prefer to pay for my service and my time . I came to Long Island for 6 weeks for a summer internship, and wasn't trying to get a haircut during that time since I'm fairly distrusting of new barbers around my hair. After over a month without a cut, I decided to bite the bullet and came across this spot while on yelp. Mark ended up giving me a great temple fade and line up; it was a lot better than what I expected from someone who had never worked on a specific client before. The atmosphere at the shop was also a lot more relaxed and friendly than a lot of shops I've been in. I live on eastern Long Island but I was looking for a new barber in the Nassau area near where I work. I came across Romans looking through Yelp and Google. So I gave Romans a shot. Long story short, Ive been going to Romans every week for about a year now. Adam and his crew are some of the best barbers on Long Island. The cuts are always on point & The wait is never long, which is great because Im always in a rush! All the barbers can cut any style you want. I have been a loyal customer of Roman's for over 10 years. Adam has taken care of me since day one, and continues to do so, even though I started off with a lot more hair than I have now. If Adam is not available, or I am in a rush, any member of the staff can step in and keep me looking fresh. Just a great group of professionals. This will always be my go-to barber shop. I go at least every other week for a skin fade and the top varies. I usually see the older guy in the last chair but when he isn't there I will honestly let any of the other guys do it. I trust everyone there and so far, everyone has cut my hair there and I have yet to be let down. I tell ALL my friends to go there. I refuse to go anywhere else. Also, they do not treat me any different even though I am a female. They treat everyone the same which I have had issues with at past shops. read more

Iv been going here for the last 10 years. Let me tell you, Adam is a legend when it comes to cutting hair, avi gives fire hair cuts, but my man Sean, let me tell you, this guy is my guy! This place is legit. There's always seating because they anticipate high traffic. Best fades in town for sure. Nomadic no more, this is the place I go to for my cuts. I have sat in each chair at least once thus far. All the barbers are skilled and Adam runs a nice shop. My last visit was before a company event. It is a nice barbershop, but I feel like I was overcharged because I am a woman who is unsure of what a fair price is. He did a good job but he charged me $22 for an undercut on one side of my head. He didn't even shave or shape up half of my head. It barely took 10 minutes. I knew something didn't sound right but I let it slide. Lesson learned I guess. read more

'I would recommend this place if you're looking for a faddish haircut and ready to dive into some club in the city as a 20 something. Apparently that's the clientele this place loves considering the techno music on full blast. The picture of all five of you posing is a bit like the clientele you admire: in vain! You just wait at their mercy. It's as if they are doing you a favor. The owner Bruno is either an old nasty man, or he only treats his own kind with proper respect. My usual barbershop changed ownership and I was in search for a new shop for me and my two boys. From a business standpoint, the three of us cut every 2 weeks all year long. It really is amazing how this place has been in business for so long with such great reviews, as I have had a very poor experience. The shop has large signs outside that walks in's are welcome, however they strictly work off appointments only. It's harder to find an appointment here than my own doctor, even a week in advance. The funny thing is I walked in on a weekend, with only the owner Bruno and one other barber working, zero people waiting for a cut. Bruno proceeded to tell me he's booked for the day, and I should have made an appointment. I told him, I had been trying for a week, but no openings. So myself and my two boys walked out . There are too many barbershops in the area for this kind of conduct, especially at $30/cut. I would never recommend anyone to give their hard earned money to this business! Notes for the owner: greet your customers or future customers with a smile... a smile goes a long way. At the very least, act like you are willing to help. Have respect for every single person that walks in through your doors, the store has your name on it! If you want to only take appointments, take off the sign outside that says otherwise.

My usual…read moreplace I take them in Westbury was closed and I searched for the nearest and best rated barber nearby. Only a few miles away, I headed over to barber shop in East Meadow. There was a line but Johnny, who I believe is the owner was quick and friendly to his other patrons. I have a cranky 2 year old and a rambunctious 5 year old but he was able to give them quick, effective short cuts. Without even going into detail, he just asked them if I wanted it short and he went straight to work. $25/each for a kids cut for less than 30 minutes is not bad. Previous barbers are afraid to go very short which makes me need to go in every 2 weeks. He went exactly the amount I was looking for and we won't be back for another 3 weeks. FYI you don't come here for the ambiance. You come for a straight shooter, great service and skills. The price is not bad either. I'll be coming back with my boys.
