I have been living in the area my whole life and have never stepped into this barbershop, until of recent. The second you walk in, no one greets you or helps you. You just wait at their mercy. It's as if they are doing you a favor. The owner Bruno is either an old nasty man, or he only treats his own kind with proper respect. My usual barbershop changed ownership and I was in search for a new shop for me and my two boys. From a business standpoint, the three of us cut every 2 weeks all year long. It really is amazing how this place has been in business for so long with such great reviews, as I have had a very poor experience. The shop has large signs outside that walks in's are welcome, however they strictly work off appointments only. It's harder to find an appointment here than my own doctor, even a week in advance. The funny thing is I walked in on a weekend, with only the owner Bruno and one other barber working, zero people waiting for a cut. Bruno proceeded to tell me he's booked for the day, and I should have made an appointment. I told him, I had been trying for a week, but no openings. So myself and my two boys walked out . There are too many barbershops in the area for this kind of conduct, especially at $30/cut. I would never recommend anyone to give their hard earned money to this business! Notes for the owner: greet your customers or future customers with a smile... a smile goes a long way. At the very least, act like you are willing to help. Have respect for every single person that walks in through your doors, the store has your name on it! If you want to only take appointments, take off the sign outside that says otherwise. read more

I have been to Bruno's 5-10 times. I have used Yuriy once, and Avi every other time. Yuriy and Avi were both very friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted. I came back because I was happy with their service. Today I used Larry for the first time, and I could not be more upset with the service and haircut I received. I have had bad haircuts before, so I made sure to give concise and simple instructions. 4 on the sides, scissor on the top, and leave the front longer so I could flip it up. I am very frustrated. Before the haircut, I even said, "better to leave it longer and have to take more off afterwards." To my dismay, even with my instructions and specific disclaimer to leave the front longer, Larry proceeded to take more and more off. I told him I had a date tonight, but as with the rest of my instructions, this information seemed to have gone in one ear and out of the other. Even after showing Bruno and Yuriy the dumpster fire that was my hair, Larry could not seem to find the word, "I'm sorry," in his vocabulary. It was not until I asked him if he wanted me to pay, that he finally conceded defeat and offered me the most half-assed and insincere apology I've ever heard. Not to mention I didn't actually get in the chair until 20 minutes after my appointments scheduled start time. I am appalled by my experience at Bruno's today, and I don't know if I will be able to go back to Avi or Yuriy. 0 stars for Larry. read more

As most men know finding a good barber is hard to find. I moved from Setauket to Hicksville and went to 6 different barber shops in that area. I was told that this place was good through a friend so off I go. I had David and he is the 3 from the door. I have gone to him for the last 3 years and think he is by far the best I ever had. I just get a low skin fade and David does it best. I have moved back out east to Centereach and still drive about 40 minutes to get my hair cut by this man. I hope if you ever had my problem in finding a good barber in Nassau he is the man to see. read more

My kids actually look forward because of the TVs and comfortable bench seating. There are usually about five barbers here so the turnover is really quick. Place is well air-conditioned in the summer and heated well in the winter. Barbers are friendly, not too friendly. They do a pretty good fade here in my opinion. Boris runs a pretty good and orderly shop, everyone has nice uniforms, all the barbers, although not old, work like experienced veterans in their 50s. There usually isn't a long wait, especially if you are open to go to the next available barber. A lot of guys come in to wait for their favorite, whenever I go, I come out equally happy with whomever cuts my hair. I think the adults get the shave treatment with the hot shaving cream and razor. That's probably my favorite part. Sometimes, I even get the little massage thing on the shoulders for 30 seconds and that's a nice thing. The place is clean, every once in a while one of the barbers stroll down and clean up all the hairs on the floor to keep this place as clean as possible. The hours are pretty good too, usually open till 7 PM M-Sat, 9-5 on Sun. Great place! read more

Great Barber shop, many barbers most are very good, prices are fair and they give a senior discount. Have been going here many years and have never had a bad haircut, most barbers are not big on conversation but they are very good at cutting hair. read more

Couple of points about this place: - all of the barbers here range in age from mid twenties to late thirties. - never had to wait more than 15 minutes before I got in the chair -family friendly. I've brought my kids here on a couple of occasions and Avi has offered to put a kid friendly movie on. -prices are reasonable. I'm out the door for $20 tip included I've been going to Avi exclusively for the past year. I was initially getting a high skin fade with a 1 clip on top. He gave a nice tight fade. Now getting a longer cut. He's good with the scissors too. Plus a nice guy. If you are searching for a quality place to get a cut like I was check this place out. read more

Been coming to this barbershop over 10 years with my kids they absolutely love their barber Yuri. Although young, cuts hair in a professional manner, very friendly and patient, a few times did pretty cool designs on one of my kids. These guys are great. They have numerous TV's playing movies or will have Pandora running in the background. Not all barbers at Bruno's are the same so make sure you try all to form your decision. I personally like Isaak or Avi the best but then again I have yet to try everyone. I never have to wait more than 10 min to get my haircut. I started coming here about 2 months ago, and damn I wish I started sooner. Okay so for the quick review, 5 stars go see Avi, he is the best at what he does! Also I a 25 yr old guy, if that helps. Now for the long review, I tried getting my hair cut one day after finals, and either everyone I normally go to was out of town or was booked. It was bad, like real bad. So I ended up on yelp saw a review kinda like this one and I was sold. I saw seen almost immediately, and it was a great cut, if you couldn't already guess. I got there half a sleep, with no idea what I wanted really, and after like 20 minutes of going over it with him, we figured it out. Like if you want a quick easy hair cut, and just need to "get it done", go someplace else. The best barber shop in Long Island! I highly recommend this place. I have been coming here for the past 10 years and this is the first time I am writing a review. This place has great barbers and amazing customer service. I specifically go to Isak. They do a quality and non-rushed job on each haircut. It's like they see hair as a work of art. They finish your haircut with a nice razor blade neck shave. They also do an old fashioned hot towel shave that makes your face feel like a baby's ass! You leave feeling very pampered. Haircuts are okay, slightly overpriced. I can only get a haircut once a month or every other month so my hair grows out and every time they say "man you need to cut it more often". No, do not tell me what I need to do, you don't know my life and when or when I can't get my hair cut. You're paid to cut my hair not to complain about how much hair I have. I am 25 years old. I went here 2-3 times. I moved here from Shirley where I used to get haircuts every week. Some better than others. This place is by FAR the most over priced place I've ever been to. I gave it 2-3 chances and the last time I went was the straw that broke the camels back. I went just for a #1 all the way around and then just to shape up the sides and front. The gave me some apprentice to do it, which whatever I'm fine with. It's a simple haircut. But this guy (and the 2 other guys) I went to there put shaving cream on my face for the razor shave, then wipe it off so they can see where they're shaving my sideburns. Then the charge you for a f'n hot shave. The most simple haircut of all time #1 all the way around and I was charged $25 without tip!! I tipped the guy at the chair before they charge you at the register. This is the only barbershop I've been to where you don't just pay the barber. Not to mention, every time my hair cuts have sucked. I admit I am pretty picky about my haircuts but at least if I get a haircut I'm not 100% happy with, I'm not getting my pockets raped too.
