I haven't been to this spot in many years because I moved and it was rather faraway to go for a haircut. Now that I am back in the area, I went for a haircut and I was happy with the result. My haircut was good. The barber worked quick so I was in and out in 10 minutes- which I like. The staff was welcoming and it was a good experience. The haircut was $12 which is way more then it was 15 years ago but everything costs more money than it did way back when. This is a good place for a quick, cheap haircut. I will be back! read more

We were upstate 10 yrs ago, when my wifes hair started drastically falling out from chemo. We rushed back home but on the way swang by Pats. Long time customer since when they used to be at the now defunct Pergament. These russian east european barbers are termed the 'chop shop' by some of their competitors. Obviously, this is not the place for stylish/exotic/specialized cuts. This is for people who have straightforward or standardized or more clean cut type of looks. Guys. I had my hair cut today, Sept. 4th @ Pat's Barber Shop in Levittown, NY. Today was the second time I was there. I'd had my hair cut by the female barber the previous time also, (Nina?) For the most part, I was reasonably satisfied the first time. Today though, was a completely different story. Nina took me right away, although there were others waiting, but apparently for other haircutters. Nina went through the pretense of asking me what I wanted, then apparently proceeded to cut my hair as she preferred it be done. It is significantly shorter in the back than I requested. Shorter in fact than since I was a pre-teen. I asked for an inch & 1/2 of length to be removed in the back, and for the overall hair to be thinned out. Well she proceeded to not only cut up to twice that length, but made the back so short and close to the head, as to look like a 'crew cut'. I'm not happy and would have stayed and complained to the owner/manager about the situation, but left as I was unfortunately not feeling physically well this morning. I not only feel that my money should be refunded, but perhaps this Nina has to be taught by her employees to actually listen to their customers. I've been going to Pats since 1997 when a buddy told me I don't have enough hair to go to a salon and he was right. Started with Roman and now I'm with Yuri. This place treats you like family. I've read some of the other reviews and should remind people that this is a barber shop not a salon. If you have pretty straightforward hair style that can mainly be buzzed, the value you get for their pricing is great. I like the fact that you're in there 10-15 minutes a haircut (my hair shouldn't take much longer). Not all of them do this but GET A SHAVE! It's a real awesome experience. Rose is always very nice and is not only worrying about who's "next". She takes the time to ask how you're doing, the family, etc. I'll be going their until the end and so should everyone else. read more

So I've been a regular at Gappy's, which is down the road, adjacent to the BJ's parking lot. 10$ for a haircut there, but I've generally received a better haircut than this place. To put it simple, going to this place, you'll get a cheap haircut... In every sense of the word! I gave it 3 tries... The first 2x's, I had a couple of older guys who gave me a mediocre haircut at best using a buzzer. The last time, I went with Avi, based on one of the other reviewer's recommendations...What a mistake! I don't know what this other reviewer was raving about but I got a terrible haircut! Told Avi what I wanted And even showed him a picture... He said ok then quickly rushed through the haircut apparently trying to show me what a great Barber he is with how quickly he can rush through my haircut. don't know where this guy learned how to cut hair but rushing through it does not make you a good barber! My haircut was uneven, looked nothing like the picture and was way too short. He even cut off one side of my sideburns, which I didn't want, and then he didn't even make it even on the other side! He said, "you're all set" after about 90 seconds and I had to point out that one side burn was completely cut off and the other side was completely uncut!!! So I guess if you're looking to save money, this is the place for you! The tip is to find a good barber that matches your meticulousness and stick with him/her. You can always request to see the barber you prefer even with they direct you to someone else. Most of the barbers here engage you in conversation (most likely to draw more of a tip) but it is a pleasant experience none-the-less. Countless visits ive been telling myself no more of this place.. I think Ive been coming here just to put off looking for a new barber shop. Seems every cut is worse then the last and now i got completely butchered by this new guy. Most of the barbers here are on extreme amateur levels. Ill be the guy wearing the hat for the next 3 weeks. My left side is buzzed up way too high and its just the opposite on the right and wavy like the ocean. Its very noticeable. I think ill be investing a little more on my haircuts from now on. This is a great barber shop for the price. If your not to particular which I'm not. I was using Avi but he really doesn't listen to what u say and cuts more than u would like so I started going to Joe. He's was great. He did exactly what u wanted done. I just went there and Joe wasn't in so I used Avi. I should have known better. That said I got the worst hair cut I ever had.it is so uneven and choppy. He never used a sissior. It's either cut most of my hair off to match what he did or wear a hat for a couple of months,unreal. It might as well been from a blind man. I'm not to particular and I've never written a review but I feel I had to. Stay clear from Avi unless your looking for a crew cut. It's pretty hard to mess that up read more
