All I have to say about this place is I'm pretty sure it's a money laundering operation. The one kid in there who could really cut hair I haven't seen in a long time and the last time I went there the guy in the first chair didn't listen to me when I said leave the top and proceeded to absolutely chop me. Everyone said it didn't work that bad, but I knew that it was going to grow in and look awful (which it does now hence me being inspired to write this review) cherry on top would be me handing him two $20 bills for a $35 haircut, telling him to keep the change, then handing him a 20 and asking him for change so I could tip him more and he literally handed me back a five dollar bill. Absolute clown show. I hope the kid that used to cut my hair over there is in a good shop cus I know I'm not the only one who has blesses him after he finesses a cut the way he does. read more

Just moved to the area and needed a new barber. Walked passed here a few times and poked my head in one day for a cut. The guy who cut me didn't seem interested at all and made a joke how he "hated cutting hair" but was good at it so that's why he does it. Not something you say to someone who's at the will of your scissors. I also asked for a skin fade, which he said he could do, and then proceeded to not give me a skin fade. Seemed more interested with his phone and the texts/calls he was getting instead of me. Will be my only time going here. read more

Simon is one of thr best barbers I've been too. Happily keep going back. The space is also very cool and relaxing.

I have been using them since they opened and the barber from when he was at his previous place. The only time my son didn't have what I was expecting is when I sent my son with my husband and I'm sure that was my husband's instructions not the barber. The place is clean and I will always be a loyal customer. I also love that I can make an appointment and not walk in and wait a million years for the person I like. So if i was to design a barber shop it would be exactly like this. There's a old school bike in the middle and If there's a line you can shoot pool to pass the time. I wouldn't mind hanging out and having a few drinks even if i didn't need a haircut, that's the vibe. The barbers are always on point whether it be getting a shape up, beard trim, or haircut. Came here during a 'snowstorm' when my other local barber a couple of miles away posted that they were closed due to weather (really?). Their service has been lacking lately, and the last time I was there, the barber had cut my ear badly while using a straight razor. It was bleeding badly. He tried to apologize but he didn't speak ANY English, so he couldn't even get the apology across! Due to this and a few other instances, I haven't been impressed lately. I desperately needed a cut due to a work trip I have so I decided to give The Gentlemen's Club a try. I will definitely be back. Dave took his time and was extremely thorough, offered me beverages, and genuinely seemed to care about how my hair came out. He gave me ideas for the next cut and was very professional. Not to mention, they were $5 cheaper. I got way better service, an excellent haircut, and a barber that was able to communicate with me throughout the entire process (and no nicks or cuts!) Now I am Cuban-American, so I'm definitely not in the "speak English or get out" club at all. However when running a business like a barbershop, it is imperative that each barber is actually able to communicate with you perfectly. It is what it is, I hope both businesses are successful, but I will definitely continue to get my cuts at Gentlemen's Club and I'm sure more will as well. read more

Not what i was expecting! The barber was way to busy watching the football game to actually listen to how i wanted my son's hair cut. He just could not get it right despite me repeating the same thing over and over. Left my son covered in hair, uneven sides and a very scratchy and red neck. read more

Living on Long Island and out of my native Queens borough, I've had a hard time finding a barber who can do a proper fade, creates clean straight parts and edges, and who's efficient with my time without traveling far. Look no further than this proper barber shop that has a lounge feel to it. You come there, relax, play a game of pool, listen to some music while you wait, and get a quick cut and shave so you can be on your way. Because the place looks nice and is decorated doesn't mean they can charge more for a bad haircut. I paid 30, not including tip, to get a haircut that the barber messed up. He cut my hair much lower than I wanted (asked for a trim and he ended up buzzing it and charging me 30), Messed up my shape up horribly and made it uneven, and I had to fix my beard myself. Why pay so much if you're not hiring barbers that can properly cut. Poor haircut for a premium price. I only came here because my local barber was closed and I had to travel the next day. Possibly one of my worst haircuts. There may be good barbers in the shop, but this shows where their focus lies. And it's not haircuts, it's the aesthetic of the store. Hire master barbers to train these kids and not just getting experience by messing up customers hairs. Never coming here again. Also, other posters claim they have amazing customer service. I was never offered anything. It was like a normal barbershop visit, but when the gentleman that was to go after me was offered once beverages while waiting and once when he got in the chair. Don't bother! I've been here a few times for myself and my son. I was hoping I found a new regular spot. Turns out I was wrong. One visit I waited quite awhile only to be told that the man that walked in after me would be taken first. They even spent 10 minutes calling him and looking out on the street for him as I sat there waiting patiently. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed this customer was very important to them. However to return, wait again and then be told that Ray is only taking appointment today is just unacceptable. Perhaps you should mention to your clients that there are certain times it's by appointment only. So sorry that I gave such a generous tip at holiday time. We are two clients they will not be seeing again. read more

Ray is hands down the best barber I've been to, and I've been to a lot. The atmosphere is welcoming and all the barbers are extremely friendly and accommodating. Another huge plus is that Ray has started taking appointments on Friday and Saturday. Personally I find that to be the cherry on top. I never have to wait again, in and out in 20 minutes.
