Great place for a good haircut or shave. Literally a battery of barbers available to clip and shave you with or without a reservation. Been a customer for years. read more

Needed a place for my son to get a haircut. If you know me, you know that I don't need haircuts anymore. ;). I looked for a place that was good for kids and Cool Cutz came up. The first thing that I noticed was that the shop was very clean. There are about a 1/2 dozen chairs and a plane for kids, or I guess small adults. Our barber did a great job. My son squirms all over and doesn't stop talking. He got him to follow his directions and gave him a great cut. We will be back soon because his hair grows like weeds. Everyone else there were regulars so I know it is good. read more

Cool Cutz - Barbers Near Me - Merrick, New York

It has been a few years now, many, many hair cuts (some even free with their loyal customer program), many different barbers but never a disappointment. Manny is "the man" but hard to get. Hoping that this COVID-19 issue passes soon and we can see Cool Cuts back up and running strong once aga read more

The first picture is what i wanted and the result was the second. With a full set of hair before my hair cut it should've worked to have my hair like the first picture right? No. Even the amount of times I showed him what i wanted he went shorter. Many people might say it's not bad but it's not what i wanted, im a laughing stock to my friends and it's just embarrassing looking like this. I want to fault myself but i gave the barber a clear view of what i wanted and he had one job. Other than what just happened i got the exact same cut from two different barbers and it was completely fine and looked great. read more

Finally found a barber shop for my kids and myself.. what an amazing outstanding staff.. first and for most i would like to emphasize on customer service.. the staff is very caring and take their time to provide quality work.. I'm very picky with my cuts and mike (the owner) always delivers above and beyond. Not to mention how amazing he is with 2 of my boys (3&7) always takes his time to make sure his work is perfection. The shop is very clean , staff is friends and I'm glad we found this shop. Will be recommending all my friends read more

Let me start off by saying that, on God, I have never in my life reviewed a damn thing. I tried this barber shop out because it was closer and a few dollars cheaper than my barber at Ace of Fades down the street. The guy who cut my hair not only cut my hair differently than I wanted, but he cut my neck up with his razor. At first I thought he just nicked me a little. But then he got nervous when I started to bleed. He kept saying it wasn't that bad even though I was sitting patiently watching him scramble around to clean up the mess. I didn't give him a tip because of his mistake and walked out. Once I got in my car I took a few pictures with my phone to get a closer look. Just a lil nick. Are you kidding me?! I had somewhere to be afterwards but it's embarrassing to go out with my neck all chopped up. I will never go there again, and I would recommend that everyone avoid this shop! I usually get my hair cut at Ace of Fades as I said before. They give great haircuts, beard trims, etc. for only a few dollars more. And they have never cut me once in the 3 years I've been going there. I regret trying out a new shop and if you don't mind driving a couple more minutes down the road then you should go to Ace of Fades. Ridiculous. read more

So I usually have a barber to go to for little man but he been flopping on me lately...I needed to get him a haircut and found this place on yelp. I read the reviews and saw Mike was really good with kids. Got there and he was very friendly, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he did it exactly if not better! They all have a TV by their station so he allowed him to watch what ever he wanted, to stay still. The place is big and looks clean...i have been coming ever since that day. Ive seen the other guys work and they do a good job too. Would highly recommend them they are a bit pricey In my opinion...but I like the way he works so I don't mind too much...i usually don't do reviews so that should say a lot... read more

Needed a cut before meeting up with friends and went to the usual spot but it was so crowded so had to do an about face. We were on our way to meet our friends for dinner and my wife would not let up on my over grown hair. I told her to find a place. I don't usually go to anyone other than my barber but to make her stop nagging I gave in. Well, she found this spot using yelp and I went in reluctantly. I was impressed and so was she. Fast, good price and great service. If it wasn't further from where we live I would frequent more often. Will be back for another cut when we're in the area. read more

I just moved to Long Island. I wanted something simple but sharp. These guys know what they are doing. The atmosphere here is lively with all the Tv that they have. Mike is a huge soccer fan and also gives great stock advice. On point and great value. Thanks for being my new barber. read more

Mike at Cool Cutz is by far the best and most professional Barber Shops I have ever gone too. I have been going to him now for a little over a year and not only have I completely changed my hair style by taking his advice which has got me so many compliments but he makes you feel so comfortable when your there and more of a friend / family than just a customer. If I could him him 100 stars I would hands down. I would highly recommend Mike and his staff for your next hair cut. Also ask him about other services they provide there as well which are to many to list. read more

Cool Cutz - Barbers Near Me - Merrick, New York

Guy wouldn't listen no matter how many times I told him what I wanted. Kept just telling me "no, trust me it's better like this". Cut my hair wayyyy too short, uneven cut on the top. Can hardly do a fade. Very expensive on top of it all. Regret choosing this barbershop today. read more

I am new to the area and my search for Barbershops is over. I walked in and noticed it was clean and bright. The whole staff was friendly and there was a line for the owner Mike the prior reviews said it all. I am not about waiting for a full complete head shave. It is a simple haircut. I had another young guy, Mike, from Forest Hills shave my head. It was by far one of the best shaves I had, I could not find a rough spot. I will be going back to get a hair cut from this MIKE again. read more

I recently switched my barber to Mike at Cool Cutz and I have nothing but good things to say about this place! As soon as you walk in, you'll notice how clean and inviting the shop is. Really nice and friendly place. My son is 5 and he doesn't really like getting his hair cut. He had been going to another place with a car chair but he was getting so big it was time for a change. I called to make an appointment and they don't take any but the nice man on the phone said come on in but just to warn you it's picture day so we expect it to be busy. There were quit a few people in front of him but they worked diligently to get everyone finished. My son love it, the price was right and they did a great job. My son has weird hair that goes many different ways. They are great and I would recommend them! read more

After walking out of ace of fades completed disgusted as how we were treated, a friend suggested cool cutz for our 2 and a half year old. What a difference! These guys know how to treat customers and run a business. Place was clean, everyone was friendly. Didn't wait long. They really know how to talk to kids and interact with them so they are comfortable. My wife and I are a same sex couple, they picked up on our family dynamics and was very kind and congratulating towards my current pregnancy. The hair cut came out great. I really like these guys, they are genuine good people who take pride in their business and know how to treat people with respect. read more

The owner of the shop Mike is the best barber around. I drive all the way from Jackson Heights, Queens to get my hair cut here. He takes his time when cutting my hair and he gets to know each and everyone of his customers. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for the perfect cut! read more

Best spot ever. Great crew, fun environment and everyone is nice. Manny is my go-to there.

Mike is a great guy with plenty of respect! Did a great job on exactly what I asked for. A man united fan cutting a Liverpool supporters hair is a receipt for disaster! It wasn't :)....Highly Recommend. read more

i've been getting my haircut from mikey since 2011. only guy i go to unless i'm out of town. he moved from lake success to south shore (merrick) and i followed him straight to his new place. i drive from FAR to see him. sometimes one hour with traffic. it doesn't matter bc he's the only barber i trust. he has clients from all over even jersey. he does a great job. his whole staff is wonderful, young fresh funny fly dudes. they all do a great job and they're all very kid friendly. all the time i see entire families coming here, moms dads uncles and kids. when it's back to school you have a long line of little toddlers. only barber shop i've seen that has such a wide spectrum of clients. they love what they do and never show signs of slack. mike does exactly what i ask and takes his time. all around great person also who always asks about my family, my health, and stays in touch. very personal as if he leaves town he will tell you exactly which dates he's out. he loves his business and i've never seen an unsatisfied customer! also he let me bring my dog here once and whole staff was incredibly friendly to him. good atmosphere and good vibes, and never a long wait. read more

Best barber shop in town. I take my 3yr old son here and he loves going. I get my haircut here too at the same time. Mike has cut our hair, and so has some of his other guys. They're all on point and give excellent cuts. Mike and his guys actually listen to what you want done and are capable of giving you the haircut you asked for. I made the mistake of going to the other barber shops along Merrick Ave., and they all butchered my son's hair. No one else in town knows how to give a fade like Cool Cutz. I highly recommend! read more
