I was frustrated with mediocre haircuts by barbers close to me so I searched on Yelp for higher rated barbers in a further radius. It's worth the 30 minute drive! The barbers are friendly, professional and hard working. My barber Robert meticulously cut my hair and did a hot towel shave. I have very sensitive skin and he did touch up work to make it as clean as possible. This barber shop is absolutely a cut above the rest. read more

Jacob is a great friend and a great Barber who I have known since his beginning. He is a great guy & an excellent Barber who provides a very high quality and exceptional hair cut. He performs a great hot towel shave as well too. If you have the time - stop in for one of them. His teams includes a roster of very friendly and highly skilled "Former Soviet Republic" hailing men who are always smiling! Pick any of them - you can't go wrong. He also has a few young and trendy barbers working for him as well. This place is very family oriented! All the barbers are family guys! If you are new to the neighborhood - I urge and advise you to stop in. This is the place to go; you will not find any better. Jacob cut my son's hair today and I can't stop raving about this place. My son is 14 months old and is scared of anything new. Jacob was so warm and welcoming. I've been going to Jacobs barbershop for years. The whole staff is really nice and do a great job. Since COVID, the pricing went up which is totally understandable. But the price of a haircut from 2020 to now is almost a $10 increase. It's $28 for adults and $24 for children. I would bring my son to get a haircut as well. But by the time you tip everyone and such, it's like $70+ every two weeks. It's just gotten too expensive to justify for me. If you have the means to do it, then go for it. But unfortunately as a long time customer, I'll have to be going elsewhere. read more

I tried Jacob's for the first time and I was very happy. The place is clean with big TVs while you wait. Everyone is extremely friendly and they give a great hair cut. I love that they use the hot shaving cream with a straight razor to straighten out lines. They also offer a hot towel after words. While you have the hot towel in they have a machines that gives you a shoulder rub. I left feeling great. The also offer shaves. Parking can be tough on Bedford Ave but there is a town Peking lot about 1 block away. read more

I took my 17 month old son here for his first haircut and had a really great experience. Jacob really knows what he's doing when it comes to toddlers (as I'm sure you know can get squirmy!!) They cut his hair in a race car with working buttons on the wheel that were GREAT for distracting my son! We also got a cute certificate and my son got a toy car when we were done (as I noticed all small children got these when they were done) AND of course the cut itself looks great. It was a great experience for our son's first haircut that we would recommend to anyone. read more

I really wanted to love this place because I trusted my fellow yelpers, however this barber shop lacks customer service skills. I was looking for a new barber for my 2 year old son and came upon this location, which happens to be about 10 minutes from my house. I quickly searched yelp reviews and saw that they had a coupon for a new hair cut for new customers only for $7.99. So i ventured over with my 2 year old. I came in and said "Hi How are you. I am a new customer and I want a hair cut for my son and I saw a coupon on Yelp for new customers?". Everyone pointed to the guy that is in the first chair, I assume is Jacob the owener. Jacob said "that coupon is old". and I showed him the picture of the coupon because I could not read the expiration date but then he nodded to the young guy to use the coupon. He didn't say welcome or hi or smiled at me or my 2 kids. The young guy that cut my sons hair was Arnold and he was very friendly with my son. Hes very kid friendly and did a great job with my son. He was talking to him and asking him if he liked mickey mouse or minnie mouse. My son was in a car beeping away so he did have fun. I showed Arnold 2 photos of the long layered boys cut that i wanted but he didnt cut my sons hair that way at all. I was a little disappointed but my son was so happy and Arnold was very good with him that I would've been ok with visiting this location again to see Arnold. Arnold gave my kids lollipops and a little toy for my son. When I went to pay Arnold, the owner, whose now in the other side of the room yells out "The haircut is $14 dollars next time" Well that did it for me. I will not walk in here again. Did he think I was just walking in here because i had a coupon? Was he upset that he had the coupon still up on yelp? Its old but why was it on the yelp website? Theres a little button thats called "Delete". Learn to use that button and learn to be more pleasant with your new customers especially when little kids walk into your business. I am in the customer service business so I understand what it takes to win a customer over and this location has a great employee-Arnold but a horrible owner and for that reason alone I will never walk into this establishment again. The owner needs to learn how to treat New customers and their families and how to be more friendly. As a read through some of the reviews, most of them were his friends or family. read more

I brought my almost 2 year old son to Jacob's and will definitely return for his next haircut. Arnold cut my sons hair and he was so nice and friendly to him. They had a helicopter and car for him to sit in and when my little guy got bored in the helicopter, Arnold picked him up and switched him into the car.
