It's a very pleasant atmosphere and was greeted right away. The pedicure stations were open and clean. The area where you got your hair washed was very well lit and the water was just right. My daughter came in to the salon for a Deva Curl cut. I do not believe, on any level that the woman who cut her hair a) actually performed the service for which we were charged or b) has any idea how to work with or take care of curly hair. She ruined my daughters curls. Her healthy bouncy curls were left dry and frizzy without any treatment or product what so ever. She bluntly cut her hair into a triangle and left no style whatsoever. Let's just say that waxing is not their specialty. It was my first waxing experience and it was lackluster. The sheets on the table were stained from massage oil and the floor was dirty. I was not comforted by the fact that my wax specialist said verbatim "I'm not good at waxes." It made for awkward conversation. The whole thing was a horrible experience. I left not wanting to come back but then remembered I bought another Groupon through the same salon for a different service. Hoping they are better at facials so I can update my star review. The receptionist was friendly enough, offering me a beverage as I waited but also had to rebook me same day due to poor time management. I reviewed this already a month ago, but for some reason, it doesn't show up here, so here it is again, after 6 weeks of growing it out. Bella does great nails, but don't let her touch your head. In spite of repeating my words back to me multiple times, that I wanted to darken my overall shade to a cool brown and to color melt a slightly lighter shade through my ends, she returned with only a cup of bleach. I explained again, and again... and. Again. Before asking another stylist to intercede. I left with wet orange chunky hair. I returned the next day, as she didn't have enough time to finish my appointment the night before, and asked her to tone the ugly orange (with clear lines across my head where she stopped) and again had to ask another stylist to intercede. Bella thought the color I wanted was too cool for me, and again opted to dye me a shade of copper. She then went to town with a razor, leaving random bangs and in unmanageable layers I didn't want. She kept repeating: look how pretty! I mean, not now, but when you wash it a few times, it'll look better. But look, it's pretty! I originally called with a groupon, which they instructed me not to purchase and said they would give me the cut/balayage/style at the $80 groupon prices. Ultimately, $150 and 5 hours so I can avoid mirrors for the next few months. Awful. read more

I wish i saw reviews before going there , i went to cut my hair and wanted layers , very nice girl and all but my hair was super uneven i went back and she was going to fix it only to make it worse , after telling her many times it was un even and her admitting it was she kept cutting and cutting and still uneven , i just said ill cut it myself at home i wanted to cry instead of having my hair how i wanted it was left 10x worse , literally $50 thrown to the trash now i need to go elsewhere to get my hair fixed i would not recommend this place its really a waist of time and money !!! read more

Attention CURLY & WAVY HAIR ladies!!! Pick up the phone and make an appointment for Virginia, the wizard!!! She performed a magical Deva Cut and wash on my medusa hair. My original stylist quit, leaving me high and dry with no one and a hot mess of hair. I have been to 9 stylists in a period of 3 years. No one could cut my weird locks correctly or at least to where I was blown away. Stylists claim on their website to be proficient in cutting curly hair yet several I went to didn't have a clue. I'm sorry but If you don't ever wear your hair curly why should I believe you know what you're doing? When I found Virginia-it was a blessing. I had been looking for a Deva Cut specialist in Omaha and thanked the Heavens I found her. She knows what she is doing and that is probably why she is booked up for at least a month in advance. Since I was new she came in on her day off which is just unheard of. What a wonderful surprise. She truly takes pride in her craft and was even talking about how she would love to expand Deva Curl in Omaha since it is not well represented here. It does take a while to cut (my first was over 2.5 hrs with a wash) and it isn't cheap ($65-80 depending on if you get the wash or not) but your curls will love you and it's worth it. She gave me some wonderful tips that have made my hair healthy and I don't have to go as frequently for a trim as before. Salon aura did my daughter's hair today. The stylist had my daughter pick her own toner which ended up costing her an additional 50 dollars. When done, her hair looked grey. Was supposed to be blonde. I called them and they had no compassion or concern whatsoever. In addition to that, blamed my daughter. We took her to another stylist 2 hours later and they were appalled. They said the haircut was awful and the toner all wrong. Had Salon Aura been one tiny bit understanding and compassionate the ending could be more positive. I would do my own hair before ever sending my daughters there again or myself. The worst hi-lights I've ever received. My stylist was 10 minutes late for my appointment and I was her first client of the day. She offered no apology and still didn't start on my hair for another 15 minutes. I'm not sure if she decided that she didn't need to use a toner on my hair because she was trying to make up for her tardiness and not put her behind for the rest of her day. I hadn't had a haircut since February and it was really getting unmanageable. I called Salon Aura and my old stylist was no longer there. I decided to take a chance and go with Nicole. I was the first one there and masks are a requirement which is great with me. I can tell that they care and are attentive to keeping everything clean and sanitized. About the haircut. I love it and it is often very difficult to get someone to cut my hair properly. I am very and will go back when I need another haircut. I have had some really good stylists for my naturally curly hair but Virginia is AMAZING. My hair has never looked better. My curls have never looked healthier. And people notice.....at 46, I have never had so many people compliment me on my curls. (Ok, that may be a stretch, my mom said people stopped her all the time and commented on my curls when I was a toddler!) Other things I like about Virginia ...... I called on Friday for an appointment the next day, Saturday. I needed a highlight and a cut because I had a job interview the following Tuesday, September 6th. Nichole, the owner, was booked except for a thirty minute time slot...not near enough time. I took it anyhow thinking I would at least get a cut. I was thrilled when the owner called me at the end of the day Friday and said she would try and work me in at different times on Saturday to get it all done. I went here in 2018 the chick that did my hair did amazing. I just went back after a year cuz I was growing my hair out and I had a pixie hair cut previously. They lady was no longer their so I tried a different person that was recommended by the receptionist. It was horrible the color I asked for was not right and she cut my hair and it wasn't even she messed up the color and she even realized it and said to come back later I said no today it's getting fixed and it still wasn't when she was done with it it. It looked nothing like I wanted I even showed pictures of what I wanted so Their was no question of what I was trying to describe. I wanted full color and she just gave me highlights. I am disappointed cuz I spent $150 dollars on my hair. I don't recommend this place. At less she was truthful in saying she messed my hair up. I did not calculate timing correctly for my appointment and had to reschedule for my shellac. I went back for the Groupon but honestly would rather pay full price somewhere better. I had scheduled a manicure and pedicure and arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, my lady (Jessica) wasn't even at the salon. I took my daughters & myself here. We had 3appointments booked at 11:20, we didn't leave until after 7pm. The lady who took me back to do my hair tells me oh I don't color hair (um our appointments were set up for hair color.) We sat around waiting as they did other peoples hair. One of my daughter has dark hair, they bleached her whole head to turn it dark again & add blue. It was supposed to be midnight blue, it was varied color of blue & is already faded it hasn't even been 2weeks, plus her skin continued to be blue. Also the bruised the back of her head on the sink. They bleached my roots but not full strands of hair so the top is bright rose red (which was supposed to be burgundy) & from the crown down it's faded brown looking. My other daughter wanted the top of her hair left black & the bottom half silver. Instead the lady kept trying to get her to change her mind & it ended up being a dusty purple. We left saying it's ok, but it's pretty bad when people in public make comments! We have been dying our hair for years, thus was the worst experience. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more
