This was my first time having any sort of service at Craft Salon and I was pleasantly surprised by my overall experience. I was paired with Ariana for my cut and I found her to be extremely sweet and knowledgeable. I really appreciated how she walked me through her process and explained each product that she was using it and why she chose it for my hair keeping in mind the goals I had for my overall look. So I don't have my haircut or done very often, and I went to event featuring this salon. I really loved their concept, the owner and his team. It was a wonderful event. I've been looking for a place to get my hair done. That fits me. I'm kind of picky. I've been to a couple of places so far. They were good, but they just didn't fit me. I feel like Craft salon was my fit. Everyone is super friendly, it's relaxed and it's inclusive to everyone. Not only that, but I literally called l the day of and they got me in an hour after I called. Awesome! I ran down with no make up, just out of the shower and they match me with Ariana. She is super sweet and personable. I felt like I knew her and we talked the whole time. Not only that but she did an amazing job. I am very picky with my hair and I wanted a certain haircut from a picture, but I do not have full hair . She was able to give me the cut I wanted, including shampoo and style. I absolutely love it. My groomer moved out of the city so I was looking for someone new. My wife had been into CRAFT before so I thought I would give it a try. Booking an appointment online was super easy and I did not have to schedule very far in advance for an appointment. I decided to go with Taryn as my wife told me we would have things in common. Throughout my experience, quality was incredible, the music is great for the crowd they are trying to go for and they offer a bunch of other amenities. Taryn was easy to connect with right away as she tries to find a common ground with her clients. She is very passionate about her work and takes her craft very seriously. Taryn made the haircut experience something to look forward to and instead of treating at as another appointment you have to go to. This was a great salon experience! I liked the initial request form, it felt like they were actually crafting a look instead of just cutting hair. When I walked in the door I was warmly greeted by Ashley, and was brought back to Ariana quickly. I was offered a drink and took them up on a French press coffee, a lovely touch! The wash experience was comfortable, I loved the product she used, it was citrus scented and had a buzzy freshness to it. I can't speak highly enough of how well she cut my bob! She took time and care and a lot of attention to giving it the perfect look. The precision was impressive!! She also took the time to explore my hair interests and explained the care process based on my personal wants and needs. I told her I'm low-fuss about my beauty routine, so she helped me choose a product to get me started and wasn't pushy about getting me to try multiple products. Had a great experience at Craft Salon. My stylist was Zeb & he is wonderful with curly hair. I left my appointment so happy with my cut that I promptly sent pics to my friends. He gave me multiple tips on techniques along with recommendations of products & best ways to use them. I asked his opinion on hair color & I love what he did. I was impressed with everyone that works there. From the person at the counter that immediately offered me something to drink to the person the shampooed my hair & gave an awesome scalp massage. The stylist Emily I believe was AMAZING! My hair looks great but it took a half hour and it was 82$ FOR A MENS HAIRCUT! Emily came to the front to let the other girl know it was a half hour haircut and the lady at the front. The girl proceeded to charge me $82. My wife calls up there and asks how much a men's haircut is the girl at the front desk said it depends on the girl or the stylist. One of the stylist was $82 for an hour so the girl at the front charged me for an hour. When clearly Emily came up and told her it was only a half hour haircut so I ended up paying $82 for a haircut that only took a half hour not an hour. So basically I feel like I got robbed. I have been seeing Taryn at CRAFT since she graduated from cosmetology school and she is the best of the best. Her skills at highlighting and knowing what looks good on me depending on the season and my wants shows how knowledgeable she is about hair and color. I've never had a bad experience with her or the entire salon. Other stylist like Zeb, Ariana, and Ashley make me feel welcomed and have become my favorite reason to go to Omaha. I wouldn't recommend anyone else in both the Lincoln and Omaha area for a great experience and hair stylist! Prices are very reasonable and the services available are impressive and extensive. My mom and I went here to get our hair done when we were in town wedding dress shopping. Let me tell you that our stylist Taryn did some of the best work we have ever seen. Truly, she worked magic and we have never loved our hair more. She worked extremely hard to get both of our hair done in time without forgoing any quality of the service. I was greeted immediately when I came in and then shown around the different areas of the shop. I was told that each stylist has their area of expertise, which I love, it's annoying to go to a shop where everyone does everything and the colorist really isn't, but since they are jacks of all trades they do it. Today I saw the expert stylist Moriah, my next visit I plan to see the expert colorist. Where else do you get pressed coffee, aroma therapy while I get washed, and a review of products to enhance my hair. But no heavy selling. Although my feeling of Craft Salon has not changed as they are still awesome, today was the first time I brought my daughter here for a haircut. She was very skeptical because she does not like cutting her hair at all and was worried since the ends of her hair are very dry and brittle, she would have to lose length. Luckily enough, I brought her here and she was able to have Zeb as her stylist. He made her feel at ease and made sure she wouldn't have to lose much length. He was also able to help her with her hair needs. She, now, is also a fan of Craft Salon. Today the only service I received was a brow wax, however, it was also a wonderful experience. Much less painful than anywhere else I have had one. Mariah was great and very warm and friendly. One of the other things I love about Craft Salon is they always offer you coffee, tea, or water. Craft Salon is the cutest little hair Salon owned by Nate and Zeb, formerly hairstylists at the midtown crossing Garbos (in case any of you are looking for them!) They have taken over prime location on the Dundee strip, and you can find them right next to Avoli. In my opinion, this is the best spot in Dundee- right in the middle and with their own parking. Hayyyyyy! Not that parking in Dundee is awful all the time, but it can get busy in the neighborhood and it's nice to know that there is reserved space for you when you have an appointment and the weather is nasty. Nobody likes it when their freshly styled hair gets ruined in a downpour! At Craft, they use a unique approach to hair care, and really emphasize their mapping care system, which is a consultation that identifies issues you have with your hair and gives you a treatment line that will help confront and solve these issues. It was fun to sit and take the quiz, and find out what I need for my hair to be at it's best. I recently returned for a deep conditioning treatment ($25) and a blow out ($35), which was such an amazing treat. Aaron started with aroma therapy and then carefully did the treatment and blow out. It was a blissful 1 hour+ of my time, and he was friendly and easy to converse with. One thing here is that the blowouts (unlike a dry bar) include a shampoo! $35 IS REALLY REASONABLE for a wash and style service. I still had clean enough hair and enough volume to make it another day with my blow out- which for me is great since I'm typically more oily. The services here include cuts, color, conditioning treatments and blow outs- I believe they will be added updo services in the future. I was looking into getting a small section of my hair colored and decided to give Craft Salon a try because I had gone to a previous Yelp event there and I enjoyed meeting the staff and how welcoming their environment is. Upon arriving, they asked for my name and asked if I wanted water, tea or coffee and then walked me to the work station where Stacy was going to be helping me. *Prior to my appointment I had a consultation with Stacy about choosing a color, which was helpful and recommended. Stacy is the sr. colorist at the salon and she was very welcoming and super excited to work on my hair! I was pretty excited too since I've been wanting to add some color for a while. I showed her some Pinterest ideas of the colors and we both decided on doing purple and magenta. While she did my hair she explained to me how purple and magenta would blend together and what products I could use to maintain the color. I felt comfortable asking her questions and I felt like we connected and she understood my needs. After the shampooing was done, she walked me over to their style bar where you can style your own hair. I thought that was pretty unique because they provide you with the products and tools to use on your own. Now that I've been here a few times I feel like I have ample experience to shed light on this salon! My sis and I discovered this cute place via Yelpy Event! We were certainly intrigued by the concept and loved the staff, even better, when we read their little introduction in the swag bag they gave us it really hit home with us. Especially me. You see, I have a lot of hair and it's pretty long so finding a great hair salon can be a little challenging. My sister and I scheduled the free conditioning treatment and went back later on and I had my hair trimmed. My appointment was with Aaron and he did wonders to my hair. Side swept bangs long layers. He was able to handle all my hair and gave me exactly what I wanted. The conditioning treatment was relaxing and we loved that they provide a little aroma therapy when washing your hair. It's a nice touch that I've never experienced at any other salon. I had another appointment just about a week and a half ago and cut more length from my hair and it turned out just as great. I felt bad that about 3 clients were basically finished with their appointments but my hair was still getting dried, but he said it was fine. I love that this salon treats their stylists as a team where they aren't trying to work for commission. I also like the products they use as well I just haven't purchased anything just yet but I'm sure I will. It's certainly a trek for me to get over to Dundee but the service, staff, atmosphere, and little attention to details this salon provides makes it worth the drive. read more

Being away from home for so long, I knew it was time to finally touch-up my hair so I turned to Yelp to find salons near me and I was led to CRAFT. I can confidently say that CRAFT lives up to the prestige and quality everyone has raved about on this site and here's why: First off, their website is user friendly for everyone as I was able to navigate through it and schedule an appointment within minutes. From the minute I walked in, the staff was very welcoming (and extremely friendly) - they even took the time to offer beverages and give a tour of their salon! The aesthetic and organization of this salon is very clean and minimalistic. For this appointment, I had scheduled for a balayage, blowout, and a hair cut, meaning I had two stylists: Mariah (balayage) and Aaron (hair cut). One of the things I appreciated about the way this worked was that each stylist had their own specialty, which I think is important in order to provide clients with the best care possible. When the session began, Mariah and Aaron both took the time to get to know my hair history and what I wanted along with also getting to know me as a person. Both stylists were very knowledgable and talented in their craft, it was easy to see that they (along with the other stylists there) were passionate and creative in what they did, making this experience all the more enjoyable knowing that my hair was in good hands. Both color/hair took about three hours in total, which isn't bad at all for the result I got at the end. At the end of my session I was very pleased with both the color and cut- it is everything I wanted and more. This salon gives me very mixed feelings. The employees were very friendly, but I am not entirely sure they understand clients wants. I visited the salon after another stylist referred me to them, for a color correction. I had very very dark, pigmented hair, which I understand is very hard to transition back to brown, but after my second visit with them in one week, I am now somewhat blonde, which I stressed both times I did not want. The first time I visited, I was very unhappy with my results. I had black hair with brown streaks so I called them and they were very understanding and nice so they got me back in with a complementary visit. I was told I was going to be getting a balayage with brown, and now I have black hair with a blonde mess at the ends. They also did not layer it, so I only have blonde on the first layer. This is also the first salon I have ever heard of, and everyone else I have talked to about this, that makes you pay $30 something to have your hair blown out. If you do not pay for this, they have a styling bar where you do it yourself. I was already paying $130 for 1 layer of streaky highlights and I didn't even get my hair styled at the end of it. I have now scheduled my 4th hair appointment with my 3rd salon in two weeks, with hopes of fixing this mess. Yikes, let's hope my hair doesn't fall out. read more

The concept is lean and makes their staff masters of their domain, versus jacks of all trade - masters of none, that I have seen at other salons. The black and white motif is crisp and their coffee is exceptional! Make sure to open your eyes when getting a shampoo to enjoy the rustic wood ceiling with a large skylight. They also use computer programs/algorithms to find the exact product that works with your hair. These folks have chemistry! And they know their aromatherapy! No matter what blend you chose before your wash and rinse it'll be relaxing. I will definitely be going back. Already booked two appointments after my first haircut today. read more

Super disappointed by my experience at CRAFT. I went there before a wedding in June, and my hair has never looked this bad in my life. I mean, it looked worse than when I simply blow dry it myself. I asked for nice curls (!) and as you'll see on the photo in the pink dress, I had zero curls. Some weird dry curls at the ends of my hair. My hair was super flat. Leaving the salon I was quite disappointed but had to leave right away to make it on time. There was no wind that day and I went straight to the wedding, the photo was taken upon arrival. For comparison, I'm showing my everyday hair (photo with beige coat). They did a whole lot of showing off, with the aromatherapy and the nice salon tour but if they can't get a basic styling done, none of this other stuff means anything. Aaron did my hair with help from a girl whose name I forgot. I look terrible on every photo of the wedding. I cannot believe I paid to get my hair butchered. When I did my mapping, I wasn't interested in purchasing products but it made me more aware and truly ask myself questions about my hair that I normally don't think of. I recently indulged in a hair treatment to protect my ends that had hints of aromatherapy to keep me calm and centered during my treatment.
