If you live in Omaha, this is the barber you should be going to! I was visiting Omaha for work and needed a haircut. It was pure coincidence I was able to stumble upon Hair Is but glad I did! The shop is located on the 7th floor of a commercial building. It is by appointment only but Matt graciously took me in as a walk-in as he was free at the moment. Matt is a super nice guy, cut my hair with meticulous care, and I was completely shocked by his affordable price! 6/5 Stars read more

I can't say enough good things about Matt and Hair Is. I called in the morning to schedule an appointment and had no problems booking a time or finding the place. Matt was very friendly and did an amazing job. I haven't walked away happy with a haircut in a long time. The haircut was great and it was just a great overall experience. I would definitely recommend Matt and Hair Is!!!! read more

Matt knows what he is doing! Thank you for the awesome haircut and fun conversation. Haircuts are $13 and you should call to book an appointment but he also takes walk ins. Thanks Matt! read more

This place is amazing there is only one stylist and he knows how to do his job. He is certified and his salon is in the Woodman office building in downtown Omaha. He is very patient and knows how to satisfy the customer. He is very fair and goes above and beyond to help people with their haircut. Matt does his job well and is nice to talk to. read more

B E S T ....... BARBER IN TOWN. Matt is a great barber and makes my visits always comfortable. Appointments are recommended due to his popularity. He does not charge an arm and a leg for a nice clean cut. I have been going to this man for 3 years now, and I cannot see why I will stop. Even if I move away from town--I am sure I will make the journey downtown because Matt is the man! read more

Have been coming to Matt since my undergrad days. Can't beat the price of a $13 haircut in omaha! Always has some tv show on but it willing to chat about life if you want that with a haircut. In and out in 30 minutes. read more

Great barber/stylist. Decided to grow my hair long, all one length, a few years ago. I have fine hair, so it didn't end up great; kind of like a mophead. Matt brought me back to normalcy. I showed him a picture of what I wanted to go back to; he was 100% spot on. One of the best cuts I've ever had. read more

I had seen pretty good reviews of this place and saw that it was a good price for a haircut, so I came in to donate my hair. I was pretty nervous because it's been a while since I had short hair and I wasn't quite sure what I exactly wanted, but the guy was super nice and friendly about it. After we were done, I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it mostly for the fact that I wasn't so used to it being so short. But now that I've come home and played around with it a bit, I can honestly say that I absolutely love it! The outcome is better than I could have asked for, and I had such a great conversation during the appointment. I highly recommend this place! read more

I found this place on Yelp looking for a barber shop. This is one of the best barber shops I have been too. Matt is great at his job and is very friendly. I didn't have an appointment and walked in. It would be a good idea to call and make an appointment, but walk ins like myself are welcome. It is located in the 5th floor of the wooden tower. You just have to check in with the front desk. Keep up the great work Matt. It was nice stumbling across this place and meeting you. read more

Hair Is - Business card - Hair Salons Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

First time out of state college student in Omaha, thought I'd never find a hair stylist who'd meet the same expectations as the one I knew at home. Boy was I wrong... got my haircut and was extremely satisfied afterwards. The entire experience is comforting, and the conversation and atmosphere made me feel like I was in the right place. Even though I was slightly stressed about finding a place to get my haircuts, I'm now relieved that I don't have to look further. It's a great price, and overall my first haircut here was great. A side note is that appointments are very much preferred. The front lobby desk needs to let you past the entrance to the elevators, and for me, they said Matt doesn't take walk-ins past 2 pm. After asking Matt, he said he doesn't strictly require appointments because he doesn't want to discourage any potential customers, but appointments really help. Long story short, call Matt and ask if he's busy before you come. read more

Matt is fantastic and gives a great haircut. I hadn't had my haircut for over a year and was growing it out. It got totally out of control and I looked like a mess. Matt spent more than enough time with me to help me figure out how to make it look good and what I can do to keep it looking good. I would highly recommend him as a barber and we had a lot of fun making jokes and just having a good time. I'll definitely go back and give him repeat business. Also, 13 bucks for a haircut? Where else can you get a deal like that? I can't think of anywhere. read more

I'm not from Omaha and needed to find a place to get a haircut downtown. I looked around online and found this salon. Matt was very personable and easy to talk to. I just needed a simple wash and trim and this was perfect. The price was cheap ($18) and the salon was clean. The location is unique: the salon is on the fifth floor of the Woodman tower. I will definitely go back next time I need a haircut! read more

Hair is...shite. Walked a mile and a half to get here during business hours only to find doors closed and a phone number out of service. US Bank bldg hides this place in the 5th floor. Can't imagine a more customer unfriendly place. Thanks Hair is Not. read more

Matt is the bomb. I'd never trust anyone else with my luxurious red hair. Can't believe that I could find such a good stylist at such a reasonable price! In Omaha for work, found salon on Yelp & took a chance based on review, so had to add in another good review to bolster Matt's rating. Matt is personable, salon is clean, price was great & I was able to get a same day appt. Thank you- I'll be back! read more

I've been coming to Hair Is for at least 7 years. It's on the 5th floor of the Woodman Tower. It feels a lot like a barbershop, and it's always neat, clean, and a professional experience. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone. read more

I am visiting Omaha for two months and needed a haircut. I turned to Yelp and found this place within walking distance. It is located on the 5th floor of an office building. There is just one barber there who is also the owner. He says he's been there 10 years. He is a Very friendly guy and told me places to go and not to go in Omaha. I got a great cut for $13 plus tip. It would be best to call first but if he's free, he'll take a walk in but he's alone so he could be booked if you show up unannounced. He seems to know his regulars. The other two clients that I saw seemed to know him well. You won't be disappointed. read more

Highly recommend this shop! I'm from out of town and was in need of a good quality haircut. They were able to work me in and did a really professional job! I honestly wish I had them at home LOL read more

I was in town for work and found this place on Yelp. Matt was great. He gave me a quality haircut and good conversation. He was very attentive to detail and got all of my wispy strays that most miss. I would definitely go here again. read more

Was in town on business, feeling like Kid Rock... Needed a haircut. This place was within walking distance of my hotel, so I tried it. Definitely more of a barber shop feel. Definitely got a barber shop trim, not a stylist cut like I was wanting. Matt was a super sweet guy though! I probably won't go back because I require a little more flare, but if you're looking for a simple trim or a little off the top, Matt is probably your guy! read more

not a fan of throwing out 5 stars, but this place is it. 32" tv right in front of you. matt does a great job while throwing in some humor. excellent attention to detail. and great care in the job that he does. i would expect to pay high dollar for the cut and treatment i received, but it's one of the least expensive i have gotten. there will be no other hair places i yelp about because i will not be going to another. i hear the lady that does nails there is great too. check it out... they're on the 5th floor of the woodman tower. read more
