This place is absolutely amazing! Saved my butt from looking stupid on Easter. I did some home box dye to strip out the color in my hair and it destroyed my it and left it orange and brassy and regular dye from Sally's wouldn't take. I wanted to see if they would take me the day before Easter, same day appointment, which I thought would be almost impossible but they were able to take me regardless of timing. Trying to find this place is hard but Lucy the receptionist was super nice in constantly helping me find the place every time I called which must have been at least 5 times. When I finally found the place I was introduced to Jana Park who was going to be my stylist. I told her what had happened to my hair and what I wanted to do with it. She gave me one of the most thorough consultations that I ever had going into a salon. I told her all the products I used and she looked them up and looked at the ingredients. I wanted a color correction and also ash brown hair with ash highlights. We decided that because of the damage I had done the previous night that it would be safer for my hair to just color correct it and come back for highlights and dimensions later. That way my hair can rest and recuperate. But we did agree that he orange just had to go! My hair was being so difficult and it took 3 different times and colors to try to cancel out my crazy orange. She told me that she tried to make my hair as ash as possible. When we finally blowed dried my hair the color looked fantastic! It was warm tones mixed with ash tones. I loved it! Although we didn't get to do all the highlights and what not she was still able to fix the crazines that was so hard to fix and did an amazing job! Instead of just putting dark brown in it to cover the orange which other salons suggested Jana did all she could to not only fix he problem but still give me what I wanted which was ashy and cooler brown hair. She even trimmed my hair and made me look as fresh as possible. Thank you so much Jana from saving me from lookin tow up on Easter! This was my first time at a real salon. It's more $ than what I'm used to spending, but it's so worth it! I was happy with the service and am definitely coming back. Location: Conveniently adjacent to the Ala Moana shopping center. Technically they're not in the mall, they're in the Ala Moana Pacific Center (same building as Shokudo restaurant). Best way to get there is thru the rooftop parking by Macy's, there's a connecting walkway with a few steps up and an escalator. Handicap access is thru the main elevators via the ground floor lobby. There's no restroom inside the salon, it's actually down the hall. Only a few steps away but can be embarassing to be seen with your hair wrapped in foil or plastic in the main hall lol. Ambience: Very bright and clean. More practical/functional than pretty (which I liked since it felt less pretentious than other salons). Waiting area has metal chairs (your s/o might not wanna sit and wait there) but I was taken in right away and didn't utilize the area myself. The actual styling chairs were very comfortable. Some stations had large windows with a view of the shopping center and ocean, other stations had nice frosted windows. The stations are crammed kinda close together so don't expect a lot of privacy. Varied clientele came thru, which was really cool. Older women in wheelchairs, kids, working professionals, men, trendy girls, everyone was welcome! Service: Excellent. No frills, but the stylists are all very skilled and competent. I felt like I could trust my stylist and just relax. Refreshments offered were water and coffee. Shampoo, blowdry, and styling were included with my coloring appointment. The owner, Henry Ramirez (aka Uncle Hanalei), greeted everyone who came thru the door and also walked around to check how my experience was going. The stylists are eager to please and will cater the conversation from chatty to gossipy to relaxing depending upon your individual expectations and mood. Stylist: Malia Amaral @maliaamaralhair for coloring. Local, very approachable demeanor, licensed professional. She did a fanastic job with my botched box-dyed hair and transformed it into *exactly* what I wanted. I now have even color and it looks so healthy and glossy (not fried at all!). Now I know why it's better to see a professional expert instead of trying to DIY. Malia responded quickly to my texts for an appointment (super convenient!) and gave me an honest price estimate. Before we started, she asked if I had any skin sensitivities (I do!) and she really listened to what I wanted. She is fastidious with her work (bordering on OCD) and a perfectionist. I really felt like she knew exactly what she was doing the entire time and I didn't worry about my hair at all. She even gave a quick scalp/neck massage during the shampoo which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. She was also very careful to protect my skin and clothes from getting ruined by dye with extra capes and plastic wrap. She did a great job styling my hair at the end and it really did feel like she sincerely wants you to look your best when you leave. I got compliments on my hair all day! Price: It seemed high for me since I'm not used to salon prices... but after calling around it really is a fair cost and Malia was able to do my hair in one 4-hour sitting instead of 2 sittings that other places said I'd need. Even my husband said it was 100% worth the money and he's encouraging me to make Malia my regular stylist. I have always done my hair in San Francisco, California. For the longest time in Hawai'i, I have been trying to find a hair dresser who could retouch or do my hair. I went through many salons on yelp, hair stylist accounts on Instagram, and reached out to several hair artists. In the beginning, the stylist who's work caught my eyes, was Dee. I did reach out to him, but decided to just go back to San Francisco and get my hair done there. Since I live in Hawai'i, I knew I eventually had to find a stylist here so I reached out to Dee again. This time, I secured my appointment and I was NOT disappointed at all. I am so glad I went to get my hair done with Dee. I had about maybe 4 inches of grown out root, but he worked magic with my hair. He melted it so well. I was very surprised and excited about my results. Dee knew exactly what he was doing and was extremely knowledgeable. I really appreciated that he walked me through the entire process, and also told me all my options and made sure I was ok the entire time. There are many hair artists who just do it for the money and don't care much about their clients, but you could tell Dee was extremely passionate about hair and his work. It's nice to see people who actually care. This was my first time with Dee, and I plan to continue to go to Dee for further appointments. I'm glad I finally found an artist who is worth going to. I came here by recommendation of my friend. I was looking to add some color in my hair and get some layers. I called and was booked with a woman name Janet. The receptionist gave me her number and told me to text her pictures of my current hair and what I would like done. This was awesome because when I came in for my appointment, she already had the colors ready and we got right to work. I spent about 4 hours in the salon chatting with Janet. Very nice woman and she did amazing on my hair ! It was the first time I had ever went to salon to color my hair and I'm so happy I went. I went in with my hair really messed up ! Came here after a horrendous experience at Dada Salon, hoping to achieve my hair goals of taking my hair from black to a subtle balayage brown in time for my wedding this summer. Malia was a breath of fresh air! Like talking to a friend, it was so easy to tell her exactly what I wanted. She listened intently and sympathized with my bad experience at the other salon, and explained the process with her and expected result clearly. She was so attentive to me the entire time, explaining that she works 6 days/week and spreads out her balayage clients so she can give them her full focus. And man, did she deliver! She was able to take my frequently dyed hair (just ruined last week by the other salon) to what I wanted and more, throwing in a deep conditioning treatment at no cost to me. She showed me the depth of her technique, that the highlights would frame my face nicely no matter where I parted my hair or if I had it up for the gym or for my wedding. It was a little pricey, but she was upfront and honest about the price before I booked the appointment. The price was also not surprising in comparison to where I've been in California. Jenna Tongg (Tokujo) is one of the best in the business and Salon 808 is so lucky to have her! She suggests I come in with a few Pinterest pics of what I want my hair to look like. After a brief consultation, she gives her recommendations on what she thinks would be best for me and she is always right on what looks best. The past couple of visits with Jenna were for an up-do and some makeup. Jenna once again WOWed me with results. Check out the pics of the amazing finished product. My gf didn't have a good experience the last time she went when they were by Ward Theater and waited years before setting an appointment with them to give them a second try... once again she was greatly disappointed. She wanted to get her hair done by Salon 808 not someone who rents a chair there. She came at her appointed time and it seemed like they weren't ready for her as she waited about 30 minutes before getting work done. The service wasn't great (waiting a lot) and she didn't find out that the person who was helping her wasn't a Salon 808 worker until payment at the end, very misleading! read more

When I went to check in the staff was extremely helpful in finding out what had happened and accompanied me in what turned out to be a walk in at that point. I saw a couple of kids walk out with great haircuts and absolutely was not disappointed in the one I received either. My stylist was very friendly and gave me an excel hair cut, I got a hair wash, scalp massage, beard trimmed and hot brushed for about 35$, absolutely amazing. I've tried a few salons on the island, & 6 months ago I had tried the celebrities salon, and was unsatisfied with the way my hair looked flat & without a whole lot of difference in my bangs like I wanted. I did a bit of research with salons before I chose Salon 808, because a majority of of the 1 star reviews here seem to be for when they got their hair colored and didn't like it... so I can't speak for those who do the coloring and what that experience is like. For a regular non high maintenance cut, this seems to be the perfect place. Their stylists: Salon 808 is a big salon, and I had called a to schedule an appointment a couple times but they were booked up for the days I wanted in the same week until they finally had one opening for the week. Call in advance to make sure you get the person you want! They have about 32 stylists, some of them specialize in different things such as cutting curly hair, Asian hair, long hair, coloring etc so if you have special requirements then ask about who does that! Location: you know where shokudo is? Outside there's an elevator, go to the 7th floor-- I had a little trouble finding it at first. Service: I had Quyen (quayan? Pronounce Quinn) and she was so nice!! She explained what she was going to do & recommended what she thought would look nice in terms of length/style for my bangs based on my face structure. I had asked her the same thing as the celebrities salon-- shorter, relaxed, laid back vibe, with shorter bangs that aren't too obvious but definitely there, small layers. My stylist, Louie C. is vain. I've had Louie style my hair twice and love it. I usually go every 3-4 weeks since my hair grows quickly. Louie just needs me to explain a little of what I want and the style is created with perfection, style and poise. Louie has a lot of openings in his schedule so I don't have a problem booking or rebooking when my schedule gets busy. Louie is meticulous in precision of his cut and you just feel sexy every time. Louie also washes your hair very good. When he puts on the conditioner, he gives a soothing head massage, which is amazing that I am getting a 5-min high quality head massage with the hair wash and sometimes I just want to fall asleep. I am in love with this salon! My mom has lung cancer and just started a new round and new type of chemo, which has caused her hair to fall out. She toyed with the idea of getting a wig, but had no idea where to go or how to go about it. I asked around and a few of my friends said that Henry, a co-owner of Salon 808 cuts and styles wigs for people with cancer. They also said they didn't know how much he charged, but that it was really inexpensive. I got in the phone and scheduled an appointment for my mom and waited anxiously for her appointment day to arrive. We arrived at the salon 30 minutes early (my mom is notorious for this) and were greeted warmly at the front desk. Henry's assistant came over quickly to greet us and tell us it'd be a few minutes. We waited about 5 minutes before being escorted to Henry's station. Henry came over and was very friendly. He asked mom a few questions about style and color, then brought out some wigs so mom could decide on a color. He then fitted her and styled the wig. They gave her instructions on how to care for it and how to style it. The bonus was that he only charges $20 for the wig, styling, and if needed shaving your head. I am so thankful for this amazing service and will patronize/promote this salon because of Henry's amazing gift to people with cancer! read more

Dee is such an amazing person: he is a great conversationalist and AN AWESOME HAIR STYLIST. i got a balayage, and the process was very long (about 4 hours) so we talked stories about food, family, school, basically everything; he's such an easy going guy!!! Dee pays very close attention to detail: he believes that things this intricate & beautiful take time. He turned my old, ugly hair, into something so beautiful! I truly appreciate Madoka @ Salon 808 she just knows my hair strand by strand! I could never find the perfect hair dresser (until now) they would give either give me bad advice and make my hair look crazy or not understand my hair or my wants and I'd end up with more crazy hair. But the worst is when you find that perfect hair dresser and they get promoted to a salon in the mainland. Ok back to Madoka, I've been going to her about 2 years now and I am very satisfied with her work! Now lets just hope she doesn't move. She understands what I want when I describe it to her, and I trust her enough that when she ask me "So what do you want to do today?" I just tell her to do whatever just leave it kind of long, at the end I'm happy with my new "do". Madoka also does my straight perm, which doesn't damage my hair. She uses Yuko which I believe is from Japan. It's a very mild product that she uses because whenever I do a straight perm it's like nothing! it doesn't burn your scalp or eyes thank goodness. I really like it because even days after I wash my hair it doesn't look or feel fried or damaged. There's nothing bad to say about Madoka or Salon 808. Salon 808 I was pretty disappointed with my stylist. I went there thinking I was going walk out with a new cool looking hair-do but then I walked out looking like a fool. Place is overpriced and the service was mediocre. I grew out my hair just to get it murdered! As soon as i got home, to be honest I shaved everything off. I dare to say my stylist name, Angela, she was nice but didn't capture what I wanted. I notice that she was good with shears/clippers but terrible with a buzzer. Jason Victorino is by far the BEST stylist there!!! I have been seeing him for yeeeaaars ... And now that he's at Salon 808 it makes the experience even better He is fantastic! I pretty much let him do whatever he wants ..... I know my hair will look fabulous regardless. The charges arent really high and it is well worth it ... I think he charges $35 for a cut and $60 for color ... Honestly I never pay attention when he tells me the prices for what he's doing. I'm always happy with the results .... I only wish I had taken a picture of my before and after so you could see how awesome his work is :( But again ... Go see JASON VICTORINO!!!!!! He's the best stylist there ... I went to Salon 808 to get a new color. I wanted something lighter, but wasn't certain how light I wanted to go. I was also a bit uneasy about lightening it because I really didn't want to damage my hair. My stylist Louie sat with me and we looked through some pictures together over coffee. By this point I was already enjoying my day off, which only got better after we started the process. I felt like I was in good hands and a sense of family in the Salon...they all seemed to help each other out including one stylist Janet who helped to dry and style me when I was pressed for time. Louie reassured me that his techniques would offer me the lighting I wanted, but still keep my hair healthy. After leaving I was given just that! Lighter and healthier hair! I had an appointment with Dee for a "Root touch up" This was my first time getting a root touch up considering up until 6 months ago I had virgin hair. Im very protective of my hair so I looked through a lot of salons and a lot of different hair stylists. DEE has a lot of work posted on Yelp so I was confident in choosing him. I thought I had a pretty good idea about what to expect. I thought I would show the color that was used previously so he could know better what it might fade into so it would be easier to get the right color as close to the rest of my hair as possible. He said it didn't matter because they use different products anyway. He asked me if I wanted to do all my hair or just my roots. I was a little confused by this question because I scheduled for a root touch up. So I confirmed, I want a touch up.... so let's skip forward past all the petty complaints I could make because I'm angry and just go to the ROOT of the problem here. After the dye, wash and dry was complete I noticed the color was off. But I still had full confidence and assumed it would fade after a few washes. I washed it three times and the color was still a ridiculously darker color than the rest of my hair. I would completely understand a shade or so off but these are completely different colors! I have chestnut red on top of medium copper blond!! I called twice to get ahold of his assistant who told me that Dee had offered a full color which is crap, he asked if I wanted full color or roots. With no explanation as to why it would be best to do a full color. She also said that there was no way for it to be an exact match because the products are different. To which I bring up again, I understand a shade or so off but these are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLORS! I asked her what can I do? How do I fix it? She said I could come in and dye all my hair. To which I asked if I would have to pay for that. She said yes. UNACCEPTABLE! You charged me 130$ before tip to screw up my hair and now you want me to pay more to dye ALL of my hair a color I never wanted to begin with. THAT is your solution? No, absolutely not. EDIT: I changed my rating to a 2 from 1 because I still believe Dee does really good work. I believe my case is unusual for him. He was really pleasant during my appointment, the salon itself is pleasant and all the workers are very nice. I had been growing my hair out for quite some time now and after looking through Yelp I decided to go with Salon 808...specifically Jason Victorino. I had to make my appointment 2 months in advance because he is kind of popular. The day of my appointment It took me longer than I thought to find this place, it's located on the 7th floor of the Shokudo and Pietros building. When I walked in I noticed they had many stylists and also found they had wi-fi. Overall my experience here was amazing, I had a picture of the hair color I was aiming for and Jason was able to create a gorgeous color. Indoors is appears to be dark red, but once it hits the sun it become this bright shiny red almost like a violet color. As far as the hair cut goes he gave me layers and was able to keep my length which I really appreciate! Him and Sheldon, his assistant, were great throughout the whole process. Although it took about 3 hours, it was totally worth the wait. The price was affordable in comparison to other stylists doing similar cuts/dyes. What's a girl going to do when she moves away from the island, back to the mainland and leaves her friends and...wait, more specifically, her hair stylist?!?! She hopes and waits until she knows she is coming back to visit then crosses her fingers, checks her magic 8 ball and pray he has an opening! Thankfully, my stylist, Dee just happened to have a cancellation and was able to squeeze me in. Mind you this was roughly 30 days advance notice! Did I say this guy is busy or what?!? When you're good, you're in demand and Dee is in demand! Dee came to me through my friend's high recommendation and we'll after I saw her hair... I was like I need that person ASAP in my life! Prior to being a Yelper, I had used his expertise about a year ago and was craving another hair change. Dee has such a wonderful personality and so much knowledge about hair (coloring, trends, hair types, etc.). He works very hard on keeping up on current trends and techniques. And honestly when have Asian hair, you don't just go anywhere to get your tresses colored! I came armed with photos on my phone of exactly what I was looking for and what I did not want so he was able to see the difference. Dee is very patient, understanding and helpful. I feel it's important to know exactly what you want so it will allow him to create what you're looking for, so photos are very important. Dee had informed me at the time of my appointment he would only have time to color and not cut my hair. I was fine with that, I mean beggars can't be choosers, so I made sure I had it trimmed prior to going there. Dee is easy to talk to and takes serious pride in his work. Just ask any lady who has had their hair colored... good things take time. I knew from last time it's about 3 hour (plus) process for all the magic to happen. Luckily, I came prepared with my phone charger (just in case) and some snacks because I didn't want to be all hangry. It was totally worth it and I walked out 3 hours later with a gorgeous chocolate caramel balayage. He knows how to make a girl feel like a brand new person. Mahalo, Dee! Fantastic! Thank you, fellow Yelpers, for writing such thorough reviews. As usual, you didn't steer me wrong. Salon 808 is an awesome little jewel of the city. Since moving on Island in August, I haven't gotten a hair cut or touch up on my highlights. After a semi-permanent box dye faded to a gross orange (complimented with ample split-ends) I called the Salon on a Wednesday hoping to god I would look good again by Sunday. My appointment was with Yonna -- an experienced veteran of hair originally from NYC. She didn't want to divulge how long she'd been in the biz ("I've been doin' it longer than you've been alive" was as much as she'd say), and her lighting fast, perfectly stacked foils and meticulous cutting were evidence. Turns out Yelp has increased their business a lot, according to Yonna, and most tourists or new clients that end up in their chairs have done so by browsing Yelp. Anyway, Yonna was on-base with exactly what I wanted. To correct the horrible dye job with some all-over blondes, a few peek-a-boo dark chocolate browns, and a base color of medium brown. It turned out BEAUTIFUL. Shampooing was a treat -- they have chairs that support your legs and feet so you're basically reclining, and you get a mini neck and head massage. Feels great after having 8 pounds of foils in your hair. Her blow-outs are amaaaaazing! She taught all the younger staff to follow her technique, which she says they "just don't teach in school anymore". She uses several round brushes at a time to give your hair a bouncy flip. While one area is cooling to the shape of the brush, she works on other areas. It takes a lot longer than a conventional blow-out and you wind up leaving the salon feeling like a million dollars. The whole experience took about three hours, but the time flew. We had a great conversation and I left a whole new person. She was genuinely happy to work on me. Walked out paying about $300, but here's the break down: $150 for color (it took forever, she foiled my whole noggin) $50 for haircut (not sure if it's like this across the board but she's been doing it a while) $40 tip (I believe in 20%) Assorted Redkin products. I ALWAYS forget to write reviews, but considering the fact that I have my favorite hairdresser from here in my phone to text in case of an emergency, that kind of says something. DEE HONG does an amazing job. Let me tell you one story quick kine: So I am obsessed with colorful and mermaids, so in my head, I had come up with this amazing AF 'do. Think like, Teal-Blue hues that make me look like an underwater Goddess from Pintrest. One problem: My hair is black strands of coarse hair that could've easily been mistaken for black floss. So as soon as that image of me walking down a catwalk with teal hair and throwing it over my shoulder like a VS model floated through my mind, I texted Dee right away with pictures of what I wanted. He actually went on his own time to go get the colors because Blue is not in their normal color wheel, which I thought was really something for a hair stylist to do--it shows how much he cares about his clients. I went in early because this kind of color job easily takes hours. He started with the bleach which he "paints" on. It's called Balayage (I'm so sorry if I butchered the spelling), and it created a nicer flow from the black to blue colors later. After the bleaching was done, he started to color my hair. If you didn't believe me earlier about my thick hair, I will inform you now that my hair took THREE tubes of blue hair dye, and we were worried he'd run out before he was able to do all of it. But alas, he finished and also styled it for me! I feel bad every time I subject Dee Hong to doing my hair just because it's like a jungle to go into, but he does such an amazing job! Sad part is that I got hired later at a place that doesn't accept teal hair (WHAT), so I went back to him soon after to also get it turned back to black--The poor guy. :( Let me tell you now that he is well worth the price and if you have bangs, he will trim them for free as long as he can fit you in! I highly recommend calling and making an appointment with him because so many people go to him for their hair that he can get filled up pretty fast. Madoka!! I was referred to this amazing magical stylist by my girlfriend who is an assistant at the salon- specifically cause I have thick wavy hair and I am starting to get picky with the way it's cut!! Trying to keep my length (I really wanna grow it out) and my hair damage-free.. is a very difficult task. I came in with the intention of a trim, thinning, and possible highlights or color- where I'd leave Madoka to make the decision because I was so indecisive. The moment I got to her chair she noticed everything I wanted to fix, the fact that my partial highlights (under my head) were dried out and causing split ends, that my hair wasn't evenly blended and was causing breakage, and most importantly... That the fullness of my hair came mainly from the top of my head-- and she knew just how to work with it!! oh the joy. So she suggested we skip the highlights, trim and texture my hair and instead do a deep conditioning... Ooh ahhh-- felt so nice after her mini massage, I could literally feel my hair absorbing it! The whole time she was giving me tips and hair facts that confirmed she knew how to deal with my type of hair on a daily basis- realistically knowing I'm lazy and don't always want to go through the home care process Madoka was able to blend and texturize my hair and bangs just the way I envisioned and more! I got a lots of v-shaped layers, just what i want. This is my first review ever! It's just that good! (review of Tuesday, Jan. 19 visit) BACKSTORY: My last haircut was about two years ago where I let my hair grow past my butt. I developed a sort of protectiveness over my hair -- my last cut didn't go so well -- and stayed away from those scissors for as long as I could. Two years was way too long! With my birthday coming up, I decided it was the right time to finally chop some of it off. I turned to Yelp and I AM SO GLAD I CHOSE THIS SALON. When I called to make the reservation, the receptionist was very kind and friendly. I couldn't get her name but it was one of the best customer service I've received on the phone. I called around noon asking if they had any open slots around 4. So thankful that they did! She paired me with MALIA, and I didn't know it then but I swear it was fate!!! Desperate for a new do, I locked in my appointment. I found the salon easily with the help from Terri L's review. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was taken care of by Malia immediately. She knew that I was nervous about cutting my hair and did not fail to make me feel at ease. I appreciated how she explained everything step by step and always checked if I was fine with it. I asked her so many questions (again, very nervous and overall curious about how hair works) to which she answered swiftly. She knows what she is doing! Malia is an extremely easy person to connect and talk to. I had no trouble communicating with her. She went in-depth into explaining how I could keep up my hair style and offered future hair care routines. While talking stories with her, I told her I usually put my hair up in a bun and she noted that she'll keep it long enough for it to still be put into a bun. Completely blown away at this point. I don't know if I've hinted at this enough, but ASK FOR MALIA! She is the absolute best!!! Her ability to offer suggestions that are the best for you without compromising what you want is amazing. She was very professional, yet I feel like she's been a friend of mine for the longest. She even gave me this hair serum as a birthday present! Question: Why do women go and get their hair done? Answer: Because they want to feel and look great! Question: Why do I get my hair done at Salon 808? Answer: Because, damnit, a guy can want to look and feel great too! I've been searching for a quality salon that can actually handle cutting guys hair for a few years now. I've bounced around to a few different shops and hadn't yet found what I would consider my ideal stylist or my ideal style. Yelp let me to Marisa at Salon 808 and I'm incredibly pleased with the results. I look at my styling and cutting experience as a two part process: First, there's the wash and head massage. My god, that's why I pay the money for a good haircut. I love head massages! I'm getting melty just thinking about it. If I could get an hour of head massages I'd skip the whole haircut process and come back the next day to pay for it again. Anyway, I like getting my hair washed. Salon 808 wasn't the best I've had in that department but they weren't the worst. They did just meet me, so we can't expect the world yet. Second, the cut and style. Marisa did a great job. She listened to what I wanted, turned my words into a practical, workable style, and was friendly and chatty the whole time. They have a huge salon just off from the Ala Moana upper-deck parking. They've been around for a few decades (yup, decades) and everyone was friendly, stylish, and the prices were better than average. So, I'm happy to recommend Salon 808 to all you guys out there who secretly want to look your best but don't want to pay the Paul Brown prices to do so. I decided to finally write a review about this place. I've always heard about 808 salon but it probably cost me an arm and a leg to get my hair done. hah 1 year ago I stepped foot in here because I needed eyebrow waxing and that's when I met Madoka. She did my brows precisely how I imaged! She then looked at my hair and said it was so long but looked really damaged. =/ oh boy was I embarrassed. Somehow I ended up letting her give me a trim (I love my long hair and I was so scared), once she was done it looked "AMAZING" you know that feeling of lighter head because of all that chopped off yup! She gave me long layers to help my hair look like it had volume and not so dull. The next time I saw her was to get a color she gave me helpful tips to making my decision firm. Originally I wanted to go lighter from a dark blonde and add highlights. I showed her a picture and she could instantly tell what the girl had in here hair and gave me suggestions. Once the hair was done it turned out way better than the picture and I ended up not having to get highlights... Conveniently this place is in the same building as my office =) Sometimes during my lunch break I would see her for my brow waxing. Since then I have been going to her for my brow waxing and hair. Each time I see her I am very happy with my hair. It's just a relief to find a stylist you can just go to for everything and she knows how my hair is. It has taken me years to find a good stylist. I have always switched from salon to salon. Before the year of 2013 was about to end I decided to go from light to dark! I had a grown out ombre effect going on but over the year of touching up the light color my hair looked so damaged... The turn out of the dark color made my hair really nice! read more
