If I could give a lower star rating I would. My wife has use this salon three time and and every time it's been an ordeal. -The first time I went with her and they stuck her with some body that wouldn't even talked to her not sure what was the problem it was the most uncomfortable and awkward situation. ($150 cut/wash) -The second time my wife was giving then a second chance so she went back and this time some how she managed to get the owner i believe to work on her her. She proceeded to tell her what she wanted (to color her hair platinum) they talked about the process and she was told that it would be two appointment for the process. Again another shitshow but some how managed to get through it. The hair was not cut correctly the job was not perfect but she had to go back anyways ($180 cut/color/style) -The third and final time WILL NOT BE EVER RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING ANYONE TO IT. So my wife had made a follow up appointment with the owner to finish her coloring and hair style appointment. 1st error owner doesn't provide a hair book, 2nd error owner doesn't remember what she had done previously, 3rd error owner spent over two hours putting foil on hair 4th error owner starts panicking because the color or what ever she is doing is not working 5th error owner is on phone asking what to do and phone goes on speaker by accident and automatic hangs up then proceed to ask my wife "who dye her hair last, what color did they used" my wife proceeded to tell her that it was her(owner) 6th error owner proceeded to tell my wife "oh your hair is is turning sea green color , let me fix it, oh sorry now it's a blueish gray oh and by the way (I'M GOING TO CHARGE YOU FOR ALL THE COLOR AND FOIL AND CRAP THAT I USED TO FIX/TRY TO FIX MY ERROR) the prices is ($300 for a horrible horrible hair coloring job and not even a hair cut just color) -So by this time after hearing the total price my wife is in shock trying to hold her anger and tears and doesn't know what to say so she pays and leave because she didn't want her hair to fall. -So now I'm in the process of getting the money that she had to over pay for someone else mistake. Salon 599 is really top of the line as far as what they offer in services. Vani, has 5 other stylists working with her. I've tried the facials, the threading , the keratin treatments, had my hair colored several different shades of blonde with foils added on several different occasions. I have had my hair cut in various styles. Vani does my makeup for every special occasion. I must say that this fabulous "Salon 599," is my favorite salon. Cheers, see you there! read more

I love Salon 599! My hair is naturally wavy, colored, and then highlighted on top -- but I like to wear in straight. And I like it lemon-yellow like sunshine. I went in to see Vani, with three months' of growth/roots, and believe me, my hair is high maintenance. I was AMAZED with the results -- she colored my hair meticulously, then added foiled highlights, all over my head. The results? I have Hollywood Hair! She was truly an artist the way she wove the color and highlights through my hair, to get uniform color throughout and how the roots then blended into my blonde hair. My hair is the most beautiful color of natural blonde, and I look 10 years younger. And the blow-dry was also fabulous. I will definitely go back to see Vani. She was great! read more

I had a fabulous experience at Salon 599! I have lived in Norwood for 2 years but still trekked to the South Shore for my hair. I tried two other salons and decided it wasn't THAT long of a drive. Two awful haircuts will do that to you! I decided to try again and took to Yelp where I found my new salon. Kara gave me a beautiful cut and the entire staff was warm and friendly! Bought a Groupon and came in for a single process and color. Day before my appointment they call to switch the time, which I couldn't, so they called back and said they could make it work. Day of I arrived at 9:20 for a 9:30 appointment. At 9:40 the stylist finally showed up. As a professional I expected her to help make a recommendation about a color, which she did now. I asked questions and she had no answer, so I finally picked one. The one star is bc she actually did a good job applying the color, so I thought I would get a good cut. I was WRONG!!! Worst cut of my life, totally uneven and botched. Then I get home and look in the mirror and she never cleaned up the color on my skin and ears, it was so bad I had to re- wash my hair and start all over. A huge waste of time and money!! read more

I had an appointment with Anna using a Groupon. The Groupon was for foil highlights and a haircut, and I called ahead to ask if it would be ok to forgo the haircut and get a few extra foils, which I was told would be fine. When I arrived, Anna immediately tried to talk me into a more expensive Groupon for a root touchup (which I've never had before and wasn't sure I wanted). As I was looking into it (still not decided), she came over with the bowl of bleach and started brushing it onto my roots without further ado. I still thought I was getting highlights, so I was confused. She told me a root touch up would look better and didn't seem to understand that since I didn't already have all-over color (I had fine highlights) that this was going to look mismatched and also cause my hair to grow out much more painfully. She replied that it was ok, I would just come back in 6 weeks. I ended up getting a haircut as well (since it was part of the root touchup group on). She cut it completely unevenly (I have a couple pieces that are a half inch longer than the rest of my hair). I will not be coming back here. read more

As a Keratin treatment veteran, I sought out a salon that used the Coppala products. Not only does this salon use the products I love, but the professional job done by Kara is the best I've ever had. Well worth the drive from the Cape ( there's always shopping that can be done!), I recommend Kara for ALL your salon needs. The small salon is calm and inviting...and a fabulous rest room with sugar scrub - available for a do it yourself hand treatment - was a bonus. I got my wife a gift card to Salon 599, I was a little scared at first because it's a lot of money to spend with an unpredicted outcome, i got my wife a cut and color and her eyebrows threaded. I had an apointment Thursday and they forgot about me, I sat there for over half an hour with no one in the salon that could cut my hair. I finally left, after being forgotten about. Even when the hairdresser was contacted that I was sitting there waiting she didn't come to see me, she didn't even bother to call me. I had to call to reschedule, the next day was a snow storm so they pushed my apt back again. Finally I had my apointment and barely got an apology. They didn't recognize what an incovienence it is for them to forget and neglect their paying customers. I was extremely disappointed in how they handled this situation. read more

Vani is by far the best person for threading eyebrows! I am very particular when it comes to my eyebrows and I've been coming to Vani for a few years now, and even travel about 40 minutes because I totally think it's worth it! I got a cut, style, and color job done by Kara. I was hesitant at first after reading the review above but still took the chance since I had purchased a groupon. I am so happy I still made an appointment because she was great! My haircut turned out exactly how I imagined. I wasn't sure what color to choose so she helped me and explained how each color would turn out in my hair. I could not be happier with the outcome and will definitely be returning! I bought a keratin blow out at salon 599. My appt was for 10.4.2013. When I got to my appt Kara told me it would be another $25 because my hair was just past my shoulder. This was my red flag, but I proceeded anyway. Wiithin 4 weeks the keratin washed completely out from my hair. When I went to Salli & Roccos, my hair stylist told me I should go back to 599 Salon because the keratin should still be in my hair. I was told the keratin applied could have been a bad batch. My gut told me she made her sale ($125) and return customers were of no concern to her. I guess her reputation Is not a concern for her either. She just wants to make a buck. She doesn't stand behind her product or services. Save your money for a salon that treats you with respect and has a reputation of integrity. I will NEVER give my business to Salon 599 again. This is the worst salon . My FIRST time coming here I had a Groupon. The stylist didn't bother listening to me or looking at the Groupon, needless to say she conditioned my hair and proceeded to cut it WITHOUT giving me the highlights that I was scheduled for. LOL I decided to give them another try. My Daughter and I both had Groupon coupons for haircuts. Upon entering the salon, NOT ONE PERSON GREETED US. BOTH stylist looked at us and stuck their noses in the air and did their own thing. We waited mortified unknowing what to do as we were not spoken to at all ! We waited about 1/2 hour and then we left. I was refunded and will NEVER EVER EVER go to this silly salon again. The chances of two strange experiences at the same salon are not a good sign. I have been trying to call the salon for 2 days. Ever since I had the Keratin done there I have been been covered with a rash on my face, hairline and neck. It started 3 days after the treatment and has continued since. I have been in the hospital for this and for a severe headache / migraine that comes and goes. You claim to use the Coppola product, but I have done that treatment 3 times before and never had a single side effect. I need to know what you use and why this is happening. I have seen Vani and her colleague, Furoz, for 3 months and I am extremely pleased with the results. I have seen a dramatic change in the condition and appearance of my hair. The salon sells many great products and one of them is the Majestic shampoo/conditioner duo which is amazing. Where should I begin...I had a terrible time here. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON. Save more money by getting highlights from someone who knows what they are doing! After tons of issues for scheduling (they never answer the phone) I had to drop in to make an appointment. There was no one there and I was told they were "too busy" to take me that day. I settled for the following weekend. Ana was late-keeping me waiting for my scheduled appointment. She tried to rush me by just doing toner. I asked for highlights which I paid for already. I said I hated how brassy my last highlights were...Now they are even worse, orangey and uneven. I will never go there again and now I have to find a place to correct the color and spend even more money on my hair. So unprofessional and terrible service. About a month ago, I was in the area for a wedding and called this salon an hour before I wanted an appointment, asking if they could fit me in. I was told yes, they could get me in. I showed up on time and was mostly ignored by the two stylists who were somehow working on three people (how is that even humanly possible?) and after sitting there for 20 minutes being ignored, I decided to leave. I scheduled an appointment for 2pm on a Saturday. I was attending a wedding in the area and wanted a simple updo with a few curls. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was seated right away. I told the stylist that I only had about an hour/hour and a half and wanted just a simple updo with a few curls. She began curling my hair for about 10 minutes, then left me to go wash the hair of another client. She started to cut the hair of the other client while I was waiting to have my hair done. By 2:20, I realized that I there wasn't going to be enough time for me to get my hair done, so I politely said that I have to leave because there isn't enough time. She apologized, but never asked if there was anything she could do. I will never go back to this place again. read more

She reached out to me after reading my review from 3 years ago and to give her salon a try. She is running a special on Keratin so I did decide to give her a try and went today. So happy I did. She, her staff and the salon are 100% focused on you and the service . She's very calm, peaceful and friendly and I not only felt comfortable but my hair looks amazing! She's very knowledgeable and offered samples of product for my scalp and hair. She's multitalented and not only does hair, but threading, laser, skin care and more. She's been doing this for 15+ years and you can tell. She will work with you on price if you are a regular. The salon is very clean and of a medium size and newly painted. It has a nice waiting room with a TV and magazines with relaxing music inside the salon. She even offered me coffee. I'm so glad to have tried Vani and will be returning. What had been a bad experience with the unethical previous owner turned into a blessing in disguise in finding Vani :) Night and day. I purchased a Living Social deal for a keratin treatment from Salon 599 earlier this summer and finally scheduled an appointment for late September. The day before my appointment I received three different messages from the salon, each with a different scenario: my appointment time had been changed, my appointment time was as originally scheduled, my appointment was canceled. It turned out that a stylist had a family emergency and would not be able to do my treatment the following day - completely understandable. The person I spoke to on the phone assured me my Living Social deal would still be honored after the expiration date since I needed to wait to reschedule. My one complaint is that it is difficult to get a hold of anyone at the salon. Usually my phone calls would go to voice mail. I was able to eventually email the owner, Kara, and she was always quick to reply and pleasant. Kara did my keratin treatment and I LOVE IT! It was definitely worth the back and forth to finally schedule an appointment. There is a nice "family" vibe at Salon 599 and the evening I was there it seemed like all the ladies in the neighborhood came to hang out there after work - very fun.
