Brooke took the time to talk with me about my hair before shampooing - this is always appreciated! We talked about how I like to style my hair and the products that I like to use. We agreed on a style and cut before going to shampoo. As a first time customer, I was treated to a detox shampoo, which was really great as I use a lot of products in styling, and it was great to get off build up of products. The results are terrific. I am very pleased with my cut and styling, and I'm kicking myself for going into Boston for cuts when Philosophe is practically in my back yard. Last note... the salon is beautiful! From the street, it looks like a ho-hum street front salon. It's not. It is gorgeous inside, and I felt very pampered in the process, which, for me, is part of the experience. Well done, ladies! Finally, a super shout out to Brooke. A wonderful young lady with a fantastic career ahead of her. Junior Stylist? She is beyond her years in skills. Brava!

Sephora in Dedham's Legacy Place is one of the smaller Sephora locations I've been to but…read morenonetheless, still a great store location! They have just about everything you would find at a larger Sephora but may have less inventory available for purchase, though I haven't experienced this issue. My favorite Sephora to go to is the Prudential store in Boston because they offer a larger selection of brands in store, but this store does the job as it's convenient for me to restock my makeup products/skincare when I'm doing some shopping at Legacy Place. Staff is super nice here and always down to help with finding products. Parking: lots of parking available but depending on the time of the day, parking spots are more limited. There is a free parking garage to park at though!

Here goes the story of my first and last visit here:…read more I came in with an allover brown color and showed Armando a picture of myself from about a year prior, with ombré hair. I asked Armando if he thought he could achieve the look and he said yes, but that I would need to sign a waiver in case my hair burned off since we were going lighter. That was a red flag - never been asked to do that before! Why didn't I leave then?? Ugh hindsight is 20/20. Anyway I sign the handscribbled letter his receptionist provides and he gets started on my hair. Only he is not using foils, brushes, a cap, etc.; no, he has separated my hair into 3 sections (left, right, back) and is SCOOPING bleach from the container into his hands and rubbing it through the first section of my hair from about my ear down to the ends. Omg why did I not run to the sink and get the hell outta there!! I check with him to make sure this is the best way to achieve the look and he tells me not to worry!! He wraps each of the 3 sections in foil, round and round and round and sticks me under a hair dryer. I am under there no less than an hour and a half. I check one of my hair sections and it is ORANGE. I tell Armando it's not lifting past orange and he slops more bleach on each section, rewraps foils horizontally, tells me not to worry, and I go back under the dryer. Came out another hour or so later with the bronziest most uneven hair. They passed the buck on who was going to dry it, obviously because they all knew how awful of a job it was!!! It should be noted that upon expressing my extreme unhappiness to him privately, Armando never apologized, and insisted it looked like the picture I showed him. I will let this photo of what I wanted vs what I got speak for itself. This is the next day at work - smh did I really let myself be seen like this(?) If you know what is good for you, you will not come here and see Armando!! He is not looking out for your best interest and he will yes you until you actually believe that you might come out of there looking even semi-okay (you won't). PS he waived the cost but really he should have been paying me the money it took to fix this hack job!

I decided to book a haircut and blow-dry with Armando Cassano because of the good reviews but that…read morewas a big mistake. I showed him a photo of the bob I wanted but he said it wouldn't work for my hair and that he knew what to do. My mistake was putting my trust in him. Instead of communicating exactly what his idea was, he cut my hair extremely short. He may have been right about my hair, but I don't know because he didn't give me the opportunity to see how the bob I wanted would look. It was very unprofessional of him not to tell me how drastically his idea was different from mine. He also didn't blow-dry my hair, so once I left the salon and it dried it was even shorter. But it gets worse. He cut my NECK. He slid the scissors along my neck and left a long cut. He didn't apologize or even acknowledge it. I wasn't bleeding so at the time I thought it was a little nick. But at home I could see how long it was and the stinging kept me up that night. My doctor said I would have needed a tetanus shot if I wasn't up to date. I called him the following day and his first response was "I noticed it when you came in". I was shocked at how easily he lied, but I guess he was prepared to do so. I told him I was worried about infection and he tried to assure me that the scissors were clean. Then he said, "You didn't see it when I gave you the mirror." (Which is true because I wasn't wearing my glasses). So, which is it, it already existed when I walked in or it was there but I didn't see it? Armando is the most dishonest and unprofessional stylist I've ever seen and he obviously doesn't care about his customers.

Ariana created lashes individually and she is an expert at this, along with selecting the right colors that would match my gown. Friends of mine that were at the Heart Ball were equally impressed with Ariana's hair and makeup. I highly recommend Ariana along with all the other reviewers here, giving Ariana 5 out of 5 stars. Ariana is consistent, talented, a great listener, with complete passion for hairdressing and makeup to make one look their best!
