Our group of 16 adventurous women experienced the thrill of Class III and IV rapids while surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. We were accompanied by five exceptional young men who were the epitome of true gentlemen. They took amazing care of us every step of the way--preparing five-star breakfasts, lunches, and dinners complete with appetizers and delicious desserts, setting up our tents, sharing fascinating history about the river, and, most importantly, keeping us safe on the water. Their professionalism, kindness, and hard work made the trip even more memorable. Each day brought incredible wildlife sightings, including bald eagles soaring overhead, ospreys, an otter, great blue herons, merganssers, and bighorn sheep. Evenings were spent relaxing around camp with great food, plenty of adult beverages, wonderful conversation, and sleeping under a sky full of stars. The rapids were exhilarating, the scenery was spectacular, the company was unforgettable, and the memories will last a lifetime. The cabins are also cable ready, but the wifi is a bit spotty and you can only check email. However, you're on vacation, so detach from the computer or smart phone and take a walk to the lake to enjoy the other fabulous activities in the Wallowa Lake area. The resort is centrally located within walking distance to the lake, mini-golf courses, go carts, shops, restaurants, the marina, the tram up to Mt. Howard, and much more. The Wallowa Lake resort has a spa on the property as well, so bring your suit. Dogs are also welcome for an extra fee and you will be provided with a dog pack that includes a sheet, treat, and other necessities. Just be sure to keep fido on a leash while on the property or in a crate if you leave them alone. Otherwise, they're very accommodating here. I would definitely stay here again. She claimed this never happened and they had no idea until the day before. They also never got us a contract and would take several days before returning phone calls. We were told there would be staff to help with set up and take down and no one was there. Included in the wedding package was a breakfast for the couple the next morning, this never happened and when I asked Vicki about it, she said no one said anything about it so she didn't do it. If it's part of your package, why would the bride and groom need to check with you to make sure it's happening?! The outside area of the lodge was also dirty, we had to sweep and pick up fishing gear and clean windows and dump bird baths. There was supposed to be a beach where we could take pictures, but it was completely overgrown and unkempt; there's no way a bride in a long dress could have walked down there. The wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch, but no thanks to the lodge owners and staff! NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!!

No explanation and no offer to help. Afterwards, I sent an email to Jane, the woman I'd coordinated with for weeks asking her to just explain what happened. Her response? Crickets. Not enough professional courtesy to even respond to an email let alone offer an apology. Being ghosted after your group has been treated rudely and after spending hundreds of dollars is more than a lack of courtesy. It's the mark of a poorly trained staff. I'm sure dinner for two they can manage but don't take a group there.
