Wow, I can't believe this place even exists in Riggins! I stay at a lot of hotels for work, and I can honestly say the suite I got was much more than I had anticipated. The rooms were clean, updated, and spacious. I liked that they provided dishes for guests to use, both glasses and silverware (which is nice because at most places you have to stab someone to get this). Our suite included a huge hot tub style bath, although water pressure could of been better to fill this faster. The views from the balcony were nice, even if you were watching some of the locals down the way get buck wild drunk and light fireworks off while it is still a couple months until 4th of July. All in all, I would definitely visit here again. I had no problem with services, but would note that if you're from a larger city and visiting here expect small town hospitality, they wont treat you like you're the King of England. Intend to visit again for some R&R. read more

Great location and very friendly staff. I especially enjoyed the spacious pool and the back patio overlooking the river--it was a relaxing place to unwind. A few things to keep in mind: the hotel does not have an elevator, so carrying luggage up and down the stairs was inconvenient. The beds in our room were also extremely firm and not very comfortable. Breakfast was fairly limited, with just a few basic options. Overall, it's a decent place to stay if you're visiting Riggins, especially for the location and scenic views, but there are a few areas that could be improved. read more

Very clean and pleasant staff. Great views and breakfast well stocked. Appreciate this lodge and will stay again. This lodge is likely the best resort type hotel in the area. That said it needs some new mattresses, a bit lumpy, uncomfortable. Neighboring room plumbing, shower, is quite loud if trying to sleep. Some maintenance looks to be a bit behind. Our bathroom could use some fixes, but clean otherwise. Riggins is a small city, in a rugged area, and lodging like this is appreciated when in town. I still think it is a nice place; keep expectations reasonable. read more

SERIOUSLY?! Very Beautiful property, but NOT dog friendly! Or even guest-friendly! Maybe people and dog TOLERANT, but not FRIENDLY!!! Apparently once upon a time some dogs caused some damage in a room and now, for all time and eternity, current dog owners will pay for that damage, financially and emotionally!!! We have a 6 lb Maltchi and a 12 lb mini Schnauzer. Both very well behaved and potty trained. We ALWAYS PICK UP AFTER OUR FUR KIDS, and honestly, my dogs have better manners than some people's children! The fee for pets is $25 each, per night. Spendy, but we agreed. Then the paperwork. Wow! NOT your regular paperwork. Harsh, but... whatever. Agree. Sign. Then, because I was curious about the intensity of the agreement I just signed... I asked why so much, why so harsh? Almost nasty?! Whew! We stayed, but my irritation grew when we went out to potty the dogs. There was a huge empty field that would have been perfect for the dogs. But we weren't allowed to use it. There was a small semi-circle, about 15 ft across, weedy, yucky area. I had SIGNED and agreed to not take my dogs off leash! And potty in the specified area ONLY. So... when we went to check out... I asked why we couldn't let the dogs off leash if we were guaranteeing their behavior, as per the signed docs. AGAIN!!! The whole once upon a time story!!! It's the ATTITUDE as much as the ridiculous fees ... the property is 5 Star, the management's attitude and dog policy... 0! And FYI we spoke to different folks each time... so the attitude is pervasive. read more

The lodge looks very nice and lobby is gorgeous. The rooms were adequate. My complaints have to do with service. We were a large group with multiple rooms spending a night before multi day raft trip. We pulled in with temp of 105. 4 of us (out of 20) asked to store a small lap top or high end photography equipment inside for 3 days due to expected high heat and no covered or shaded parking. This was refused. First with reason of no space and then with reason of not willing to take liability. No bargaining or offer to pay changed answer given with a pretty negative attitude. the manager acknowledging that she fully agreed that this equipment would likely be ruined in locked cars but still offered that as only option not wanting liability We were also not allowed to move a rollaway from one to another room on second floor (no elevator) to accommodate our party when someone ended up in a room with just one bed . we offered to move it ourselves and return it or just move mattress this wasn't allowed. this might have been a reasonable policy without elevator but it was authoritarian negative attitude without any effort at empathy or understanding of situation Breakfast was typical fare with a number of and written signs telling you what you can't or must do: do not to take coffee mug to room, clear all your dishes and scrape them before stacking in bin, don't microwave eggs, etc ...and of course a tip jar. Overall just had a very unwelcoming feel and no effort to cater to tourist issues despite being a tourist destination. Felt like there were doing me a favor to allow me to stay overnight. I would not choose to stay there again and cannot recommend it for family/groups read more

My BF and I stayed here 2 nights last May, while we were looking at properties in the area. Def a nice place to stay! Rooms are spacious and the views are not bad at all. It was awesome to hear the river at night, so peaceful. No complaints at all! Everybody was very friendly and the place overall was very clean. The gym could be bigger and better equipped, but, this is coming from a person who works out for a living now, so take it with a grain of salt. I hope to stay there again this summer, as we'll be back to look at more properties. read more

We will stay here again. Clean, quiet and a friendly staff. The ladies were so absolutely lovely. One in particular even looked up the weather/road conditions and gave me advice. She was genuinely concerned that we drove safely. We ended up staying again on our way back through town. We swam both times and the breakfasts were good. Everything everyone else has said about the staff, notice it goes back for years, is absolutely true. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I couldn't check out fast enough (literally there less than 12 hours) I was barked at about don't expect turn down service, the breakfast we advertise isn't available, don't fill your personal coffee mug with the lobby coffee - use our 4oz paper cup with no lid, no you did not make a reservation for a dog room. Had I not been on the road for 13 hours by the time I checked in, I would have left in tears and headed anywhere else. I was so tired my jaw was on the floor just getting through check in. Pros? -Perfect location for people who know and love the access points in the area (me!) -Beautiful lodging -Outdoor spa and indoor pool makes for a nice nighttime treat -Wonderful view of the hills, with sun shadows all day long, boasting perfect conditions for watching elk wander in and out view -Close to the river, which means prime relaxation sounds -Free cookies and milk in the evening -Lovely continental breakfast -The lounge area is comfortable, with an immense window so you can look out at the hills over the river... the perfect place to relax -Staff is helpful and friendly Cons? -Well, it's hard to stay here for a pricey fee when I can camp... Came through on our way home from a rafting trip down the Selway. We originally reserved a river front room but changed to an inside room because we arrived after sunset and left before sunrise. Very friendly staff . Nice size, moderate priced, clean rooms. Good firm beds. We did take advantage of the outdoor hot tub which was amazing. Skipped the indoor pool as the chlorine smell was overpowering. Yes, the various taxes added another $25 plus to our room charge but there is not much this hotel can do about that. Breakfast is self serve and was fair in quality but ready for us at 5:30am. Nice great room where guests eat. Based on a quick drive through town, this looks one of the nices places to stay in Riggins. read more

Lete start by saying, I reached out to the manger via the "contact us" button on their webpage and have not received a reply. So why 2 stars? Let's start with hotel positives. It's a gorgeous location. The breakfast was good. The room was clean. Nothing fancy but comfortable enough. So why so little stars. It's a whole bunch of little things. When arriving we were meeting my mom and asked the room to be split between two cards. They said they couldn't do it. Really? Dutch Bros can split your bill. Not a huge deal, but have me an off-putting feeling from moment one. I also asked if we could see a room with a view, to determine if it was worth the extra cost, I was told the view and non view rooms are identical, except the view so I didn't need to see one. Well that's not true, from the outside of the room you can clearly tell some rooms with a view clearly have a gorgeous river backdrop while others would be blocked by trees. I wanted to see what I was paying for. Nope. Onto the pool. Holy hot room! And signs everywhere not to open the windows or doors. As a parent you want to just sit there while the kids play and it was unbearable. Sheesh, let us open a window up for some air. The coffee and hot water were completely cold. Not even warm enough to dissolve a packet of hot cocoa. There was a microwave in the lobby, so not the end of the world, but I didn't want the coffee as I thought, "how old must this be if it's stone cold"? Also no hot cider, like advertised. When I asked for it for the kids she abruptly told me we don't have it. Also the "warm cookies and milk in the evening. Nope. Cold. Before checking out we asked the maid who was in the room next door, what time check out was. She said 12, so we headed down to let the kids swim one last time (at 1030). We stopped to get our pool towels from the front desk and they said checkout was 11. I told them we were just told 12, and they said "well she's new and doesn't know". Way to throw your employee under the bus, wouldn't it have been easier to just say "actually check out is 11, But I'm happy to give you a late check out of 12". Easy, customers happy, housekeeper is reminded privately of the check out time. Instead the kids got to swim 15 mins and we rushed out of our room. Again, a lot of very small things in the scheme of a hotel experience, but with so many small things they start to add up to a less than special experience. The absolute biggest issue was the hot tub and deck. THEIR Google ad, as well as all their third party websites ALL say OR have photos of a gorgeous outdoor hot tub on the river, which is the reason I booked this property. (I have included screenshots from THIER Google ad). I do understand that guests can add photos of the property to your Google ad, but as a small business owner myself I know how much you have to pay for your Google ad and you have to keep it up to date! If you have old photos that no longer represent your property you need to delete them. most people are visual, like me, and I go straight to the photos to determine what type of property they are choosing. There were multiple photos of your beautiful hot tub. So disappointed to see the hot tub in the condition it was, weeds and green slime. Again when asking at the front desk I was met with an abrupt, yah it's been broken for a while. For a hotel that is supposed to be so upscale, all the little things matter. And the icing on the cake, I sent this same list of issue to the management a week ago, haven't heard a word. I tried to let them do something to make it right before posting this. Just one more bad feeling to round out the stay. read more

The lodge is nice, but, as other reviewers have noted, the staff should be fired. My mother complained to me about how bad the service was. I experienced it myself when I called to inquire about a book I left behind. The first time the lady told me she'd ask and call me back. She didn't. When I called back a few days later, the lady who answered was snotty at best. Not terrible, just not good. read more

The worst hotel experience I have ever dealt with in my life. Stayed in the hotel March 6th noticed bug like bites on March 7th and 8th. On March 14th was diagnosed with scabies. Contacted Victoria the general manager on March 16th to try and come to a resolution to the situation as I am dealing with a very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. And as it was the only place besides my own home I stayed during that time and none at my house has any signs of scabies it's pretty obvious where it was contracted. Victoria flat told me it wasn't their problem that I contracted scabies and told me that the only way to contract it was via human contact which is a lie. She repeatedly told me that if I have a problem to get a lawyer that it's not their problem and that I lied about getting it there. I think this is an isolated incident in regards to the infestation but the lack of compassion and empathy and human decency was not. I had hope to come to a reasonable compromise about this issue but they would rather treat people terribly and without compassion. I recommend people stay at any of the other Riggins motels as this experience should never be experienced by anyone. Shame on you staff Salmon Rapids lodge read more

The lodge was amazing: absolutely stunning views out back, nice patio out back, all the services you need (laundry, pool, etc.), close to everything, and even a complimentary breakfast and lots of coffees to choose from. Riggins Idaho is well known for it's Salmon and Steelhead fishing. Recently my Brother and I stayed in the river front rooms at the Salmon River Lodge. Our room had a balcony and a view of the confluence of the Little Salmon and the Big Salmon rivers. We also fished along the banks of the lodge as guests are permitted to do so. The room was one of the best we ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and professional. If you ever get to Riggins Id. we highly recommend this place. read more

Totally worth a stay here, the staff goes out of their way for you. Very different then many other chain hotels.

Stay at this hotel if you want to stay at the nicest property in Riggins, on the river. Do not stay at this hotel if you want to sleep, that probably won't be possible; the hotel recently changed all their bed mattresses and insodoing put in every room concrete-like mattresses. Our "goto" hotel for our summer visits and honestly the only hotel in town I'd ever stay at. Staff is nice and the rooms are clean. My boys enjoy the free breakfasts and love the nighttime cookies and milk. Free wifi is nice but spotty in some of the rooms. read more

What a great place to stay! Very nice accommodations for a rural area. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was good and served in the lovely lounge with huge windows facing the river. Indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. Ditto to everything the previous reviewer wrote. Can't say enough good things about this motor lodge at the confluence of the Salmon and Little Salmon rivers. The rooms are spacious; the staff is MORE than helpful. When I came in this afternoon, the desk clerk informed me that the power company had phoned (!) to inform them of a power outage from 5 to 8 pm. As that is dinner hour, I asked about places to dine in the absence of electricity. The clerk called around to the local restaurants and gathered a list of those equipped to serve during the crucial time. read more

Took my wife to Riggins for her birthday and we stayed here - casually mentioned that it was my wife's birthday and we were surprised in our room with a birthday card and a bottle of sparkling apple cider in a bucket of ice with two wine glasses. The staff is wonderful, the amenities are great and the birthday card and cider were a nice touch that they did not have to do. This is the best place I have ever paid money to sleep at - outstanding location, clean (very clean) rooms, comfortable...everything a person would want in a motel. read more

Very disappointed with this place. Always have wanted to stay here, but not now. There was hardly anyone at the lodge and the front desk person put us at the end of the building so we had to walk further and carry our suitcases, etc. up 2 flights of stairs. She said since I booked online the room couldn't be changed. Yeah right. Now we find out the TV doesn't work and she says she has no one to call, but now she can switch rooms. For $100 I think we will stay someplace else next time. Not impressed. What would they do if it was the busy season. read more

Great place to stay, this quality hotel ( even has warm cookies and milk free each night!) is clean, warm and very friendly. Staff was wonderful and they pointed me to a great place to eat just down the road. Great hotel and good food makes Riggins a must stop place if your doing the I95 north south drive. read more
