Firstly we got there to "Sally's Store" to pick up our U-Haul truck we pre-booked and paid, we found ourselves at a dirty and dingy convenient store. Why does U-Haul give contracts to these places? The store owner didnt speak much english. He was Chinese-speaking, and was very rude. He kept yelling at us saying "SYSTEM DOWN!" SYSTEM DOWN!" He told us to leave or else we will just waste more time. He started to speak Chinese, how offensive. We already booked and did the early check-in before we got there, and had our helpers ready. He made us called the U-Haul head office when he should have remedied the situation. All this time he was tending other customers, being very unhelpful to us, and leaving us to our own devices. We had to talk to the head office, and they told us they would dispatch the car, but the store owner just kept telling us to leave. Head office said they would give him a call to dispatch, and after we hung up our own phone, the store owner rudely told us his own phone wasnt working when he had just called someone on his own cell phone just minutes prior. So we had to call head office again, and again with our own cell phones, and they asked to speak to the owner with OUR phone. Very unprofessional. And then he shoved the keys in our face and says ok, go find the car, it's on Trutch Street. Still extremely rude and not at all apologetic. When we got to our moving location after going through heavy traffic, we realized that they forgot to place the dolly in the truck that we specifically ordered. It was rush hour at this point and we did not want to return because it would take away one man from helping with the move. Finally at the end of a long day, after all the frustrations, we had to return the dolly at one location, and the truck at another location. When we returned the truck, the store owner was still tending to other customers, while he nonchalantly told me to punch the kilometers on his computer. This was HIS job! No service at all.
Overall, it was a nightmare. He ruined our day. read more
