During check out time, the fat lady with glasses was so impolite and impatient was giving me double price than I quoted from one of the other staff same day and as well as I called couple days ago. After around 20 years finally realized my wife likes orchids.. don't judge.. anyways after this sudden realization I had kept this shop in mind as it looked interesting from the road when I visited the nearby grocery store the past year. Finally went there today and the front had gardening flowers and plants so was a little worried their cut flower and orchid selection would be small or non-existent. As soon as I entered there was a abundance of gorgeous orchids and the staff were very helpful in helping out. Totally happy with Niki Trading and will definitely be back! read more

Quality of the flowers has dropped substantially over the years. There's a good deal for 3 small bunches of flowers for $15.99 but these wither in a few days. I've bought from here over many years and have consistently been getting more and more disappointed each time. There is also now a $5 fee per bouquet if you want them to put your selected flowers together in a bouquet. For the decreasing quality of flowers and service, I think I'm going to pass on it. Hope this place can get it back together because I really did love coming here. read more

I am so grateful to Sandra at Niki Trading -- she bent over backwards to find me purple hydrangeas for my June wedding, even though it was early in the season for the colour I was after. The flowers were absolutely stunning and lasted well past the wedding. She was flexible about arranging pick up and payment, and gave excellent instructions on keeping the flowers fresh despite the fact that they had to travel to the gulf islands from Vancouver. Lots of helpful Staff, very reasonable prices and beautiful arrangements. This shop bigger than your average Florist, I think they do alot of wholesale business and pass the saving on to walk in's. After being tasked with picking up the flowers for all the reception tables, and the bride's bouquet, 24 hours before the event, a colleague recommended Niki. I visited this flower shop/nursery for the first time for Mother's Day flowers. Of course, it's one of the busiest days for a flower shop, so it was very busy. The staff were handling the rush well though, seems like they were prepared. From driving by many times I always thought this was just a small roadside stand but actually there is a large indoor area full of different plants and flowers, both cut and potted. They have vases and gifts too. The flowers themselves were nice, and I saw lots of interesting plants. I'm not much of a gardener but there was sure a lot of variety! Including food plants like tomato and squash seedlings, as well as tropical house plants and orchids. The only thing I didn't like: I think I was overcharged a bit. They had a big selection of bunches of flowers with a sign saying "3 for $12.99". I picked out three and when I got to the till they said one of them was $4.99 as it wasn't included in the sale. Ok, that one did have a sticker I didn't see, so that was my fault. But then they ended up charging me $4.99 for all of them, even though the other two didn't have that sticker. I know it's only a couple of bucks but it's just a little misleading to have a sign like that and then not include the flowers under the sign. It was so busy I didn't want to hold everyone else up so I just left it. But yeah, just watch the pricing if you do visit this shop, I guess. Oh yes, and they charged an extra $3 to wrap my bunches together, but they did add some baby's breath flowers and arrange it nicely, so I guess that was worth it. Overall, I would go back, as the selection was large and the staff were decent. The inside of the shop is sort of a mess and looks more like a warehouse, but that doesn't really matter if you're there for flowers/plants and not a high-end retail experience ;) read more

At niki trading they gave me exactly what I wanted based on a picture, was in the color scheme that I needed it. Best part is the prices cant be beat. Very good prices and lots of selection, however, only certain staff are helpful. I made a several hundred dollar purchase for roses on valentines day around a month ago, and i swear most of the people pretend they dont even recognize me. I asked one guy for prices at the back and he simply ignored me, he was the exact person i dealt with on valentines. Seriously need to rethink customer service, new customers deserve respect too, especially if they can bring you lots of future business. read more

I had been referred to Niki Trading from another floral wholesaler who couldn't meet my needs so naturally i took this advice and placed an order with Elizabeth from this company. I had very specific flowers in mind for an important baby shower i was decorating therefore i placed the order early in order to ensure i could get the flowers i wanted and was assured by Elizabeth that there would be no problem getting the flowers i wanted. it is not easy for me to get out to this business as i don't drive so i arranged a ride to take me there. I meet Elizabeth and she takes me to my flowers...with a casual 'oh yeah, i couldn't get the specific colors you wanted so i just got these ones...the flowers were not what i wanted at all and to further this frustration they were mismatched and of poor quality. There was no apology offered. Just a very dismal showing of a bucket of flowers i didn't want. I took a minute to calm myself as the baby shower is the next day and this would mean having to completely change the entire color theme and crafts i had planned to use the flowers for. I asked why she didn't call me to tell me she couldn't get the flowers i wanted!!?? She just said 'oh i don't know' UNACCEPTABLE. I thought ok, i will get another flower she had mentioned on the phone when i made my call that would be available too, and in bloom, as another option however the tiger lilies were all closed and would not be ready in time. I looked at birds of paradise and many were not open but she said she could force them open and tried doing so....that turned out to not be an option as well. After much deliberation i went a completely different route for flowers and while ELizabeth was ringing up my purchase it came to over $120...which i considerably over the quote i had been given with my original order. She then realized she had rung in some of the flowers for the wrong price. So she re rang in some flowers and it was all very confusing as to how much each flower was. At this point i was almost ready to walk out. I looked at another staff member for some kind of resemblance to competence alas no one seemed to care. There seemed to be no form of a manager around or anyone with any sense of customer service. All in all a very upsetting and frustrating experience. Absolutely no sense of accountability. It took everything in me to fight resisting giving them my money but i was in a pinch for time as i needed flowers. I really should have walked out and gave my money to someone else alas i was getting over a cold and wasn't well so i just over paid and left. I WILL NOT BE BACK AND I WILL MOST DEFINITELY ENSURE NO ONE IN MY SOCIAL CIRCLE (AND IT'S A BIG ONE) GOES TO YOU FOR ANY KIND OF FLORAL NEEDS. And any chance i get i will slag your company.
