I love this shop. It has wonderfully curated bouquets of flowers, choices of cacti either potted in a nice selection of containers or imported. There are other small plants and you can ask for flower arrangements to be made. Also, it smells lovely in the shop. On one side of the shop, customers can also buy cards, candles, fragrances, wrapping paper, etc. The service is great. I had someone helping me immediately and received advice on how to care for the flowers. A limited number of people are allowed in the shop at once, and it supplies masks as well as hand sanitizer during Covid times. I recommend stopping in this shop if you want a nice selection of flowers or are looks for quant little gifts. read more

After running around Vancouver for a flower shop (with bad luck, all the shops we went to were closed), we decided to drop in. Super glad we did! First impression when we walked in the shop was that the front area looked like they had minimal selection. The florists greeted us and asked what kind of flowers we were looking for. We told him that we wanted a bouquet with a red/pink arrangement. We asked if they had roses and they said yes. We didn't see any roses in the front, so maybe there were more flowers in the back of the shop. We gave him our price budget of $30. After waiting 10 minutes, we recieved a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The arrangement was so pretty and the colors blended in so nicely. We were happy with the work they did for us and definitely worth the price. They wrapped our bouquet up quite nicely as well. We left the shop satisfied and loving the flowers we recieved. This shop will be our list should we ever need another bouquet. read more

This bouquet was three days old. Kept in a cool room away from the sun. We were told this was to be expected because we didn't request the "longer lasting flowers" and we should not expect them to last more than 3-5 days. We order fresh cut flowers from all over and have never heard this before. Response to our complaint was to blame us for this result (in a condescending way). Poor customer service and short lived flowers is what to expect from here. read more

Not good. Went in and it's a bit of a wide-open mess. There's no pre-arranged anything to explore. Random dying plants off to the side, then single various flowers/branches in random containers strewn about. I asked the girl at the desk if she would make me $50 bouquet, nothing more, nothing less, no special requests. She indicated it would take 15minutes. I come back and she asked me, did you say you wanted to spend $40 or $50? I said I indicated $50. She then handed me a bouquet and rung it in at $50 plus tax. My only query here is whether I said $40 or $50 I was still getting the same bouquet? So did I just get handed a $40 bouquet and pay $50 for it? Poor way to handle that situation, good way to really show that the value of a bouquet is completely arbitrary. Overall the flowers were okay. Nothing extraordinary or mind blowing included in them. I'd definitely look elsewhere my next go round. read more

Counted a dozen men inside this store yesterday, all scrambling around, no doubt-- at 4:45pm, did they get off work on purpose!? It's one of the bigger ones in this area, & found they were pretty helpful despite the mayhem. You could tell they were rushing & putting flowers together but good selection. No doubt I saw some eye-gouging prices for a dozen roses $90 or so, and other pink/red flowers in a basket for over a $100 at the front window. Metered parking right in front. read more

This review has been long overdue. I had my wedding this past July and my experience with Flower Factory was nothing but wonderful. Gloria, although always busy, was a pleasure to meet with on my consultations for my floral arrangements. She listened to my thoughts and helped me narrow down the style of flowers I was looking for. Each time I left the shop, she always sent me along with a sample bouquet of flowers, which only made my day that much more cheerful. By the time my wedding approached, I felt like I had made a new friend and was almost sad that our meetings would end. It's now November, and people who attended the wedding still mention how beautiful my flowers were. My husband knows not to go anwhere else for special occasion bouquets. For $40 dollars + tax they will make you a beautiful, classy bouquet on the spot and in about 10 minutes, max. A perfect place to stop before going over to Mom's for Thxgiving or otherwise. Sure, you could spend less at a local mini-mart, but why bother? I have to admit, I'd be afraid to see what $20 would get a person here; hence the decision to double it. But when it's for Mom or anyone else, and when you're going over for a nice dinner, it's worth it, don't you think? Choose from an array of classy flowers, have it done up with the cellophane which comes complete with a trademark sticker/ribbon and complimentary mini card if you choose. (Admittedly, these aforementioned cards aren't much to write home about.) Recommended by me when you don't have a lot of time to think about it. Parking is usually pretty easy here, too. Now, I just need to get the report of how long they lasted before I can give it a perfect five. read more

I was in the store two weeks ago and was extremely unimpressed with their level of service!!! I wanted to rate them as zero stars but I had to select one as a default! After I forgot about my 6 month anniversary with my girlfriend, I felt like a total shithead. Only newly moving to main street I remembered having purchased flowers here a few years ago so again, I return to the scene of the crime. I notice that one of the employees is already helping a customer so I look around the shop. Another employee is buzzing around, helping the same person. I'm a pretty patient person so I look around, poke my head into one of the flower cases, play with a bunch of plants. I paced back and forth for at least 15 minutes. After 15 minutes of being completely ignored, I left. I'm a reasonable person. I waited for someone to something, anything, absolutely anything to me, but after 15 minutes I figured they didn't want my business. The very least that you can do is ask me if I have any questions or that they'll be with me in a minute or two. I guess they don't need my business. I've heard that they have a lot of commercial clients and that friends weren't so surprised that I was ignored. I went up the street to the Rainbow Flowers who greeted my immediately, asked how my day was and if they could help me with anything. Within minutes I spent $150 on an amazing bouquet that was custom designed by the great owner of the flower shop. I will continue to go to their shop because of their amazing service and attention detail. I would suggest that the folks at the Flower Factory learn what customer service means. If your commercial clients mean more to you than random walk ins, then why even have a store? For your flower needs on Main Street, Rainbow Flowers it is!! read more

To be up front: I can't comment of their actual flowers because I didn't end up purchasing from this store. I went in on to discuss ordering wedding flowers from this shop. No I didn't have an appointment. However I went in mid-week as was in the area and liked their work I've seen on social media. The staff were so unwelcoming and unhelpful and made me feel like I was really interrupting their day. They made me feel like an idiot for not booking an appointment to meet with the "designers". She said that the designers meet with clients generally on the weekend. I explained I couldn't come in on weekends because my fiancé and I both work on the weekends. She just sighed and said MAYBE they could accommodate another time. She took my name, number and the number of arrangements I would need and said someone would call me back that afternoon or the next day. I really didn't even want to speak to them since the staff were being so rude, but I didn't want to be rude back. It took almost 2 weeks for them to call me. read more

I am not sure about this - I want to go back an forth from 2 or 3. I wish I can give it 2.5 star, but I don't want to provide 3. Here is the reason: This review is for the store experience during 2013 summer. There are bugs in that store. Way too much for my liking. I have bought potted plants (pots and plants and they potted for me with a small fee) only to come home to find one of the plant was infested with bugs. I have to chop off so much branches. Also, when I am inside the store, I can see ants running up the seat against the wall. Which make me concerns if I order flowers here for wedding - would the bugs fall from the flowers to the dinner table? Overall, I think they have beautiful flower arrangements, but I don't want to pay handsomely for beautiful flowers and have bugs infestation like how it did to my potted plant. Maybe cause my potted plant has soil? I think this is a question I will be asking all florist before signing a contract. How they ensure flower arrangements are bug fee or if there is a clause in the contract. Lastly, I did notice it is a bit pretentious. The girl who did the potting for one of my plant was a bit pretentious until I complement her on the arrangement. I don't know, maybe cause she was young. read more

I won't deny, my green thumb is actually more a shade of black. I kill cacti. Somehow. I decided that my terrarium and I were best suited to air plants. I was actually surprised how inexpensive the selection was. I've seen air plants in glass bowls with pretty rocks selling for a significant price. The young man who served me was so helpful. I got some moss and even some little rocks to layer on the bottom. He told me all about how to care for my plants. He even assured me that they could easily be revived without actually implying that I was likely to attempt murder on them too. At the end of our transaction he sweetly let me know they were just a phone call away if I had any questions. There might be hope for my thumb getting a bit greener yet! read more

Beautiful space, way over priced, lackluster customer service. I have been here about 3 times now, and I am not the biggest fan. It's the customer service; you are greeted by employees who make it feel like helping you, a walk in, is a burden and that it's taking them away from more important things. The most BEAUTIFUL flower arrangements I have ever seen in Vancouver always come from the Flower Factory...I was shopping on Main with a good friend one day that had been informed that they do most of the arrangements for big business' in Vancouver...they do them on Sundays for Monday pick up..and it just so happened to be Sunday..off to Flower Factory we went to gawk at the purdy flowers..and purdy they were..big, opulent, original and just out right stunning...*sigh..if only I could afford to have a fresh bouquets of flowers weekly for my home....according to Oprah it's a good idea to treat yourself to such things..mayhaps I need to talk to the hubby about a flower budget:) The staff are great..very helpful and willing to do their best to put something together for you that is unique..they listen to what it is you want and you and trust that they will deliver something amazing... read more

Every year for Valentine's Day I get a gigantic bouquet from the Flower Factory, and it fills my whole house with a wonderful floral aroma. It's the one day of the year that I get treated like the princess that I am! Yay! This year Cupid came late, a week late.... and with flowers that the BF unwrapped and put in water before I could really get a look at them. The bouquet was big yes, however something was missing... As the days passed and I waited for my lilies to bloom, I noticed instead that they were dying. Was it because I forgot to put that little packet of minerals into the flower vase before filling it with water? Was it because I didn't cut the stems to make sure the ends of the flowers were fresh? No, because the BF did these things. The reason my flowers were dying was because they were IMPOSTERS! These flowers were not from the Flower Factory! There was no pink ribbon around the bouquet with the name of the store on them. Not only was Cupid late, but I had been deceived on the one day of the year when material things don't matter because love is all you need. What a cruel joke. The moral of this story is that if you buy a girl flowers and you expect a steak and BJ on March 14. those flowers better god-damn-well-be from the Flower Factory! read more

These flowers are definitely pricier than your average Safeway or Save-On Foods flowers will be. But they will also last a lot longer than those ones. And you can be sure the quality is going to be great. Plus they are so knowledgeable about what they're doing, and always come up with great flower arrangements. The owner grew up in the flower business so this is a natural fit for him. They put together the floral arrangements for my sister's engagement party and they looked amazing! read more

I was checkin out my new hood, well my soon to be new hood and I stopped in at Flower Factory to see what's up. The first thing that hits me is the smell... it's soooo amazing, so amazing I swear I would give up everything to work in their shoppe. I was reminded of this project I worked on a few years back with the Dr. Peter centre here in Vancouver. It was an event to help raise money and awareness for people living with HIV. The people who donated the flower arrangements were these guys, I remebmber them being the coolest little things. They took a square vase about 4 inches high, cut some limes in half and filled the edges of the container with them and then topped off the vase with the most briliant fuscia flowers around, very low, very graphic, and very cool. I think what caught me the most at the time was the style, most flower shops tend to be big and flowery and usually the same old crap... well I can tell you for sure the Flower Factory does not produce the same old crap! read more

What I love most about this flower shop -- and there are so many to chose from- is that you can custom order flowers for someone just by describing them. What a great concept! I ordered my girlfriend flowers for her birthday by writing a little description of her, and she got the exact flowers she wanted. And they were colour coordinated. Other than that, it's a unique store that makes funky arrangements and has a loyal following because it's been in business for a while. It's contemporary but not over the top (no staples in my flowers, thanks) and creates colours and combinations of flowers that are very chic. read more

I can only speak for the two air plants I bought the other day, but I had a great first impression with Flower factory. It smells heavenly inside and all of the sales associates seemed genuinely caring and helpful. I did not find exactly what I was looking for, but I was assured there would be more clear glass bowls after the holiday season. The plants I purchased were very healthy and at a low cost (I couldn't believe some of the prices at another succulent/tillandsia store on Kingsway) so I will definitely be back. A sweet touch- even though my plants were teeny tiny, the associate made sure to include some gift wrap and a ribbon at checkout since I was planning on making a gift. read more

FF gives you more bloom for your buck, and they have a wide variety in colour, shape and texture so your arrangement will be eye-catching. I came here as it was across my favorite record store. I needed a pure white rose for a science/art project that I wanted to work on which was making "rainbow roses." The first thing you notice in the store is the blended pleasant smells of all the flowers. It was like heaven. Normally I am allergic to flowers, however, for some reason never felt a sneeze come on or a scratch in the back of my throat from the fragrance. I am not a flower expert. In fact this is my first time actually purchasing flowers, therefore, I am not sure if $4 for a single white rose is a good price or not. They did wrap it up nicely with water to take home. The lady at the til was super friendly and answered my burning question that I've had for years as to what certain rose colors mean. While I was waiting I saw another girl make a beautiful bouquet for the lady behind me. P.S. It was nicely hydrated and wrapped that it made it safely in one piece all the way home. read more

Flower Factory was recommended to me by the lovely Alicia Keats when I was discussing floral options for my June wedding. I was a bride on a budget and planned to create my own bouquet and centerpieces; however, Alicia suggested that I talk to the folks at Flower Factory first about what could be done with the floral budget I had. I ordered a birthday bouquet from the Flower Factory recently and was really impressed at their work. I called, spoke to a staff member about the flowers and colours and picked them up the next day. They created a beautiful arrangement for my fiancés mother and she talked about how pretty they were for weeks after. Prices were reasonable considering how long the flowers lasted. They are patient with answering my questions about flowers and plants. This place is a disgrace. We had a very aggressive sales pitch for flowers, were attempted to be Shamed in buying those beyond our budget and were spoken to rudely by a very coarse girl. The flowers were all shoddy in the shop and the prices quoted unbelievable. In the same afternoon we found another florist with about 40 % Less who was recommended to us by the Terminal City Club. We were delighted by the contrast. AVOID FLOWER FACTORY at all costs. It is absolutely the least professional establishment we have ever encountered. The bride and her mother are both docters and can certainly afford the flowers presented but the EXTREME overprice turned all of us off. SHAME on them !! read more

I recently had a wedding consultation at the Flower Factory and was completely unimpressed. Firstly, the woman providing the consultation kept me waiting for 15 minutes, even though she was in the store. While I was waiting I overheard one of the florists tell another new florist that since they are so busy in the summer, they make wedding boutonnieres 3-4 days in advance and use a spray to preserve them... not what I am looking for. The consultation was fine, although the woman was more interested in telling me what they generally do, as opposed to inquiring on what I was looking for. Now the quote was the best part. The woman didn't even ask me if I minded waiting while she turned around and spent another 15 minutes typing up the quote. Then, despite asking how to spell my fiancé and my names, she spelt them both wrong (and they are very common names)! The quote itself was extremely over priced. 15%-20% more than other higher-end Westside shops I had also consulted at. Delivery alone was $250-$280 for a church and reception venue 15 minutes away!! Maybe they increased the price because my venue is swanky, but that doesn't mean I am going to be taken for a ride. Nice flowers in-store, but nothing special and not worth the mark up for weddings. Brides look elsewhere, such as Buy the Bunch or Garlands. read more

The Flower Factory was my first choice in florists to book for my wedding until I called in for an adjustment to my first consultation. I was looking to increase my spend with them. I was shocked at how rude the lady was on the phone. I didn't get her name but she told me that they don't re-quote and if I wanted any changes I would have to sign a contract and pay a deposit first. How could I possibly have made up my mind when all I had was a 20 minute consult and rough costs? I expected more from them and am so disappointed at the way I was spoken to on the phone. The person was so rude and short with me. I didn't realize that by wanting to spend more money meant I got treated worse. This experience had totally put me off from ever wanting to support this business. Really sad because they were the florist that my fiancé bought me my first bouquet of flowers from and I thought it would be so sweet to book them for our wedding.
