This is such a bad representation of Sally's. It's not even Sally's. Dined in with a coupon for a free pizza because the last time we came here it took them over an hour to serve us. I wanted to give them a second chance. Sometimes businesses have bad days and I don't like to judge based off of one experience unless it's super bad. Well, this time was worse. Ordered the chopped salad. All you could taste was dressing and it was soggy and swimming. Barely any meat. Then the pizza came. One half had pepperoni and hot honey and the other had meatball and ricotta. The pepperoni side was literally disgusting. Like the salad, it was completely drenched in hot honey and sickly sweet. It was pooling on my plate. You couldn't taste the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Speaking of the sauce, there was little to none, had no flavor, and it was canned. I know canned sauce when I taste it. This was especially shocking because Sally's is known for their sauce. I'm very disappointed because I usually love the sauce at Sally's l, but this wasn't it. And then there's another problem: the pizza came out burnt and cold. New Haven style is slightly charred, not BURNT. It wasn't just the crust; it was also the undercarriage. See the photos I attached. It also took 50 minutes from the time our order was placed to get our one pizza when the restaurant wasn't even at half occupancy. Service was terrible!! We weren't even offered red pepper or parm with our pizza and weren't asked if we wanted dessert. Not like we wanted to stay after that mess, but it would've been nice to be asked. Our server was never near our table and it took a long time to get the things we wanted. We felt completely ignored all night. I feel like this is totally understandable on a busy night, but the place wasn't packed by any means and there were only a few tables occupied. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes after we finished our pizza before our server came around again and just handed us the check and walked away without a word. Not coming back.

Came to Sally's Apizza on the weekend with no reservations. We were able to get seated. However it gets busy and to be honest the food can take a while since it's oven fire. That's the downside and I would give it 3.5 honestly because of it. Service was alright, our waiter wasn't bad, but he told us pizza will be right out and we still waited 20 minutes. All we ordered was a small firebird pizza. Sally's apizza describes it as "Mozzarella, Sally's tomato sauce, oven roasted chicken, diced sweet and hot peppers, onion" The flavor is really good and I do like how thin crusted the pizza is. Next time I would like to try the meat specialty pizzas. Last time we got cheese and pepperoni and it was good. The pepperoni is a but greasy but it's expected.

We love our Sally's so decided to stop in for a bite of our favorite pizza! Started off with some garlic bread which per usual was great! Our server Jerica was so friendly and helpful! We got a small pepperoni pizza and a large mozz and cheese. Our drinks were great! We got seated in a booth but there was more than enough for a Wednesday night! Great date night per usual at Sally's of course we will be back!

The chicken parm with rigatoni was delicious. A good portion size with the flavor you need in a chicken parm. The breading was good too. The sauce was the star of the show. It matched so well with the chicken, the flavors dance in your tongue. Highly recommend!

Ok , so I went back the next night ( they were previously closed for a private event) Really glad we came back. The food and service were outstanding. We had a garlic bread app ( fantastic), chopped salad ( outstanding), Chicken Parm ( very good), pizza ( phenomenal) *Only complaint , the young lady at the hostess stand wasn't very friendly... and when she was , it was fake. I had a reservation At 6:15 and when I checked in , she told me "you're going to have to wait until 6:15 , we're very busy" I looked at the time , it was 6:11.... Ok Then , another guy came in and didn't have a reservation, she seemed to enjoy telling him in a condescending manner that there was no way. She seemed to relish her position of authority (twit)

No sauce on pizza when ordered to have sauce.

Ordered takeout and yet they somehow got the order wrong. Ordered a pizza with sauce and they put no sauce at all on the pizza. It might have been understandable if it was busy but it really wasn't.

Every time I come to eat in the state of Connecticut, I have to make my way for a Sally's a pizza you have to stop here and try their famous tomato pie with the light cheese. It comes out cooked perfectly every time ,well done ,crispy ,moist juicy savory. it is a reason why this Pizza place has been around for nearly 100 years. The service was fast as always, super supportive and all my needs when I ask for some olive oil with pesto on the side they took care of me very quickly. The atmosphere is really clean and up-to-date modern, easy parking right in front. Take a look at the video ..100% five star Pizza. 9.5 Mr Portnoy!!

First time here. Usually do Frank Pepe, but a CT friend suggested to give this place a try. Pizza was delicious. Maybe marginally better than Pepe. My favorite was the pepp, but everything we tried was good. Potato pizza was interesting. I believe that prices are higher than Pepe, but the pizzas are bigger too. We had 3 smalls between us two hungry guys, and it ended up being more than enough. Only complaint is that the pizza is a little slow to come out. We were there on a Thursday night and arrived before 6, so had assumed we would be in an out. I think they had a bunch of takeout orders ahead of us. Lots of parking, including a few 15min spots right outside the store for the takeout orders.

Tomato Pie

Great spot for classic Connecticut-style pizza. We tried the tomato pie with pepperoni: perfectly thin crust, chunky tomato sauce, and just the right crisp. The potato rosemary pizza was a pleasant surprise and ended up being a favorite. The garlicky white base was incredibly flavorful and paired so well with the rosemary and potatoes. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Amazing food as usual. The pizza came out quickly even though we went on a Saturday night. Our waitress who was the bartender also was so nice and attentive they ran out of the fox trot soda so she brought us other soda for no charge. And I love the ambiance very close to me and I love having sallys nearby.

"Sneakin' Sally through the alley Trying to get away clean Sneakin' through the alley with Sally When up pops the queen" (Robert Palmer) New Haven style pizza has been in the news a lot lately, thanks to Connecticut's guerilla marketing campaign claiming to be the "Pizza Capital of the United States". Targeting New York City, Chicago, Detroit, and New Jersey, their billboard campaign playfully disses other cities' pizza styles, while promoting Connecticut's New Haven-style, coal-fired pizza. New Haven style pizza has long been found in Connecticut beyond New Haven, and today we visited one of the newer locations of the state's Holy Trinity (Sally's, Pepe's. Modern) when we had lunch at Sally's in Wethersfield. They've been open less than a year. I've eaten a lot of pizza over the years, but I don't think I've ever been to a pizza restaurant located on the ground floor of a four-story "Modern Luxury Apartment" complex, but that exactly describes where Sally's is located. The Borden apartments are in a massive brick building with four floors of apartment units; and there is Sally's -right on street level facing the Silas Deane Highway. So, if you're looking to visit Sally's, just keep an eye open for that tall brick building. When you walk in, you'll see a hostess stand, spacious dining room and Sally's open kitchen. The menu has pizza of course -three traditional New Haven varieties (Mozzarella & Tomato Sauce Pie, Tomato Sauce Pie, and White Pie) plus ten or so rotating Specialty Pies with yummy ingredients like shrimp, potatoes, clams, and stinger peppers. If someone in your party isn't a pizza fan, no worries because Sally's also has appetizers, salads, entrees and sandwiches on the menu. Our server Laura started with an informational disclaimer about New Haven pizza, how its cooked in an 800-degree oven and may have a charred crust, but that's intentional. We shared a $14.75 Chopped Salad of iceberg lettuce, salami, peppers, mozzarella, red onion, olive salad, and chickpeas with an Italian vinaigrette. It was a very good-sized and delicious salad (maybe a teense spicy?) and very splitable for two people. We also split a small ($17.25) Mozzarella and Sauce Pie, and that was incredible. Yes, some of the outer crust had the black char on the crust's perimeter that Laura mentioned, but it did nothing to detract from the overall excellence of Sally's sauce, cheese, and micro-thin crust. Quite honestly, the pizza was sensational, and so was lunch at our first visit to the Wethersfield Sally's.

I like the vibe in here. Our server was amazing even w a group of 7 people. Unfortunately the pizza was just "ok" for me. For the higher prices I expected much better. I also tried a bite of my wife's hot honey drizzled pizza which tasted great but I had some sort of reaction to it (I have no known allergies!). Figured it was a fluke but when I ate the leftovers the next day it happened again. Parking here is horrible because it's a shared lot w the apartments above. You're either parking a mile away or in tight spots just asking for door dings. Although it wasn't horrible I still wouldn't recommend and probably wouldn't go back even if a group of friends wanted to eat here. Way too many other great options in town or just over the river.

We came here on a windy weekend day during lunchtime. Our experience was very positive. We were greeted and seated immediately and really enjoyed the inside decor. We were expecting it to be a little less fancier than it was. We were also able to take advantage of the happy hour between two and four on Sundays. We got the happy hour wings which were a little spicy but cooked to perfection. The pizza was very good as well. We got a large and added meatballs, and that was plenty to share with 2 to 3 people. We will definitely be making a trip here again!

It was okay. Sauce is too sweet for my taste. No chew to the crust. Will not order a $30 cheese pizza again.

Last time I got a pork belly thing that was absolutely mind blowing. Their cocktails are on point as well. This service is super. The servers were also passing cornbread with delectable chipotle butter and chicken skewers We then had a lovely 4 course meal! These were very good and the dipping sauce had a nice vinegar kick Crispy Brussels sprouts, whipped herb crème fraiche, pretzel crumb, mustard vinaigrette, kielbasa was the next plate served. I LOVE the crispness of the brussel when cooked to perfection, almost like crisps For dinner, I had the Bella Bella Half Chicken which was a fall cassoulet with Young Farms heirloom beans, root vegetables, duck bacon and chicken sausage. I was a fan of the chicken but wanted to try something new. I had to bring my dinner home at this point because I was so full and wanted dessert. For dessert we had a Tres Leches Tiramisu; Mascarpone, tres leches soaked lady fingers with cocoa powder. My wife got the Salted Caramel crème brûlée, and it was to die for! Both the deserts are very good. Overall, the Laurel does their job perfection. The servers make sure that everybody had everything they needed and kept coming around and checking on the guests. There is parking around back, so it's only a short walk to the front

Fried mozz... the flavor of the cheese was good but the pieces were over fried so it was kinda hard and tasted somewhat burnt 2. Risotto balls... those were great, just needed a lil more sauce. I would definitely order this again. 3. Spicy Calamari... There was an unpleasant odor as soon as they came out. Tasted the actual Calamari and it was delicious but the dish was ruined with all the crap that was added. The yucky slaw and the sauce/ drizzle were unnecessary and made the dish inedible. Wish they left it off or put it in the side so we could have enjoyed the Calamari itself. 4. Sweet Potato Ravioli... the actual ravioli was good. Loved the filling. But this dish was ruined by a flavorless sauce. It tasted like cream mixed with butter. That sauce should be left off. Im sure the server already knew we didnt really enjoy it bcuz he didnt even question why food was left and we didnt want to take any of it to go... Really planned to order more from the happy hour menu but after those last 2 disappointing apps, I changed my mind...
