Annie's Book Stop is a fantastic local book store providing both used & new books. If the owner,…read moreAndrea, doesn't have what you are looking for she will order it. It usually comes in within a couple days. The prices are good, never full list price (new books are usually 20% off, used are 50% off list price), and the condition of the used books is usually very good. I've gotten children's books, young adult novels, books for required reading in college lit classes, sci fi, horror, noir, chick lit, graphic novels, etc. at Annie's. Pretty much any genre you're looking for, she has. There are even out of print titles, so check here if you can't find something at one of the big chains. Ask for help finding your book & Andrea will always know exactly where what your looking for is. I think she uses the force. Where do all the used books come from? The customers. You can bring in any paper back books & get credit to use on your purchase. The credit never expires, but you have to keep track of your slip because there's no way to look it up. If you're anything like me, you might want to use your credit right on the spot to prevent losing out on savings. One more thing: if you bring in a truck load of books don't expect the store to take all of them at once. Apparently there's a limit (not a set in stone one, but whatever) to how many trades they'll take a day. This protects the bottom line, I guess. And if that's what it takes to have a cool little bookstore in Beverly, it's worth it. Still 5 stars. Almost forgot: it's right across from the North Beverly T stop & Nick's Roast Beef (yum). Parking is out back and there is a 2nd entrance back there. Go get some books!

The B&N on the South shore near me closed down and it sort of sad to see. I like the smell of brand new books in a bookstore. They have bunch of collectibles, legos, funko pops and other figurearts! The Starbucks we ordered 3 drinks, the did forget the simple syrup in two of them so it's more was definitely straight matcha which is fine, healthier without the sugar haha. It definitely took longer than other locations with no line. The cafe also offers more food the your normal Starbucks as well. Staff was alright, didn't seem the most friendly on our visit.

I questioned her and she got irritated with me. Still puzzled, I dropped it and just paid the girl with the snarl on her face. My change included 3 pennies which I added to the mystery bowl. Her face still blank. I left. Cut to today. I accidentally broke a candle in a glass jar. Bummer! I offered to sweep it up, pay for it, and apologized several times. She barely looked up as she swept. I get it. It's a total drag to cleanup a customer's mess. No one's happy in this situation. I off to pay again and got no reply. A few minutes later I purchased some items and AGAIN she was grimfaced. I apologized one last time. Looking away she said, "It was an expensive candle." So I stupidly offered to pay yet again and she said, "That would be nice". Then the owner appeared at the counter and was shuffling papers shuffling papers. No smile, no grace. I told her about the situation and she blankly said that would be nice if you paid. I think the whole situation was handled incorrectly. If "You break it You buy it" is your policy then put up a sign, or politely tell your customer who committed the outrageous sin. Horrible, horrible customer service.
