The book store, I am NOT an avid paper bound book reader, but i appreciate picking one up from time to time. For my taste they had plenty of titles organized well by genre. I do also like that they have manga section that myself and my god daughter etc can run thru to get her the next chapter she needs in whatever series. If they don't have it they can order it. The B&N on the South shore near me closed down and it sort of sad to see. I like the smell of brand new books in a bookstore. They have bunch of collectibles, legos, funko pops and other figurearts! The Starbucks we ordered 3 drinks, the did forget the simple syrup in two of them so it's more was definitely straight matcha which is fine, healthier without the sugar haha. It definitely took longer than other locations with no line. The cafe also offers more food the your normal Starbucks as well. Staff was alright, didn't seem the most friendly on our visit. read more

Barnes & Nobles right by Northshore Mall in Peabody served as a decent caffeine stop for us! Haven't been inside this Barnes & Nobles in YEARS but doesn't look like much has changed. It's definitely a more dated store but seemingly had decent inventory of novels + great kid-friendly selection. They have a Starbucks inside, with only two workers but only one person working the front and also making the drinks. Expect a little bit of a wait because of this. We ordered three drinks: one caramel ribbon crunch Frappuccino & two iced matcha lattes w/ strawberry cold foam. Took about 10 min, so definitely longer than your typical stand alone Starbucks. Matcha lattes had no sweetener, though it normally comes w/ simple syrup but no problem, healthier this way anyways haha. My caramel frappe was very sweet + kept leaking out of the cup. Staff was okay, didn't find them to be that friendly. Overall, I can see this being a great spot to sit + read a book as it's pretty quiet in here & has drinks + food too. Just note if you're ordering food/drinks, just keep in mind it might take some time to be ready. read more

Today, Thursday, March 12, around 4 pm, I was effectively accused of shoplifting by a female employee in glasses who watched me like a hawk. She then proceeded to humiliate me by asking me to open my bag, upon which she realized that I did not in fact place any books in there. Never again will I be spending a single penny at any Barnes and Noble store. Ever. I will continue to write review after review until I have received a formal apology from said employee and the store. read more

This review is no reflection on the staff and people that work at Barnes. They are all great and super nice. But the store itself has morphed from a well rounded bookstore that caters to everyone to a chain that caters to cat women 40 and older with way too much time on their hands. Magazines are scaled back and the same with other books and subjects. I guess you need to shop on line to get what you are looking for. I long for the days of Borders and the old B&N stores. read more

Slow slow slow, as molasses. Came to get a starbucks coffee and waited in line for 25 mins. There were about 3 ppl in front of me. I mean I understand being a little backed up, but 25 mins. There was one guy taking orders and serving, but there was absolutely no urgency to what he was doing. Clearly unable to multitask. And not only that, but he didn't bother to ask the other employee for help that was just wiping down the counters. That's service, now in regards to the "starbucks" coffee, terrible. Absolutely terrible. It was so disgusting and weak, that I did not want to take snother sip. I advise against getting coffee here .. and go when u have plenty of time to wait read more

I have been to plenty of Barnes and Nobles, this one is by far the best. The staff is more than willing to assist you and they are very polite and friendly. The vibe is relaxed and the Starbucks makes perfect coffee and the employees there are absolute dolls. I love the rows of magazines from around the world, I finally found a place that carries English music magazines! Deserves 5 stars easily. read more

I visit here a lot. I've always been a fan of Barnes and Noble because of the Starbucks cafe inside, the free wifi and the comfy chairs. Overall, this Barnes and Noble is very nice and has a warm atmosphere. The bathrooms have always been clean when I've been there too. My biggest issue with this store is that the upholstered chairs are beat beyond belief. They are so worn down that they are very uncomfortable to sit in. I can't sit in one for more than five minutes because they are so misshapen. So bad for the posture! I wish they would replace these as they are way past usable in my opinion. I always end up sitting in the wooden chairs they have, which are far better and more comfortable for extended periods of sitting. It bums me out though because curling up in a big upholstered chair at Barnes and Noble used to be one of my favorite pastimes. Another thing to keep in mind is if you are working on the wifi, it kicks you off every two hours. It's no big deal and I can't complain since it's free. But if you are on a corporate VPN, it is kind of a pain because you have to re-login to everything, which takes about 10 minutes of your time every two hours. Note that there are only four or five electrical outlets in the place too, so you need to scope those out and know where they are if you're going to be on your laptop for a while and have lame battery life like I do. If you have kids, there is a fantastic children's section and now a whole new toys area. My 2.5 year old loves to go here to look at books, color with the paper and crayons provided in the children's section, and play at the train table and lego station in the toy area....not to mention play with all the toys for sale. She is easily kept entertained here for one to two hours. I usually have to drag her out of there! I get an iced coffee at the Starbucks cafe in the store when we get there so I can keep up with her! :) read more

Still ove hanging out here and trying out new books, mostly because of the Starbucks cafe - one of my favorite places =) So - I really use my Kindle more than I buy books - but I still really like going to B&N so I'll give it 4 stars. read more

A good place to go and read Us Weekly. Don't know what's worse, sitting in the cafe and reading their magazines, or breaking out my Kindle (not the Nook). Eitherway, hospitality or apathy, nobody seems to mind. :) read more

BEWARE of purchasing books for your Nook. Barnes and Noble aren't actually selling you the books (even though the word "purchase" appears at the time). If you want to switch to another device (which I am doing because my 3rd Nook never worked correctly and I'm tired of buying new ones), you CANNOT access the books you have paid for unless you want to read them on your computer. You cannot keep a copy of the book, nor can you convert them to another device. So, instead of "purchasing" your books, you are actually renting them. DON'T waste your money. Barnes and Noble, like most book stores, are in trouble. Save yourself some aggravation and buy a different device from another company (i.e., Amazon). Truly disgraceful that you "purchase" books that you cannot keep. Shame on you Barnes and Noble for duping your loyal customers. read more

Of the three Barnes and Noble stores that I spend time in (I try to hit one every weekend!), this is my favorite. Even though it's right next to the mall, I think that having a Border's bookseller close by keeps the crowds evened out between the two stores. Great cafe here, lots of chairs around the store to relax and be comfortable in... it has a more 'library-ish' feel to it than the other stores, I'd say. Also, of the three B&N stores on the North Shore (Peabody, Saugus, Burlington), this one is the only one that has accessible power plugs in the cafe for my computer (even though B&N WiFi access is a little pricey!), which is very useful. read more

Came in for a Venti iced, they told me they had run out and asked if I wanted cold brew instead. They charged me the extra for the cold brew, which I was only getting because they ran out of iced. Every time I have gone in here they take their sweet time as well, and this was no exception. They gave me the discount for bringing my own cup though, so at least that's something. read more

The Starbucks at this location (north shore mall)was very disappointing. We went there yesterday. Tables dirty, chairs, old and very very dirty.Disgusting Charge enough for coffee and prices are increasing. Furniture needs to be replaced or at the least kept sanitary. read more

Great store and great staff. I like the selection, most of the books I'm looking for are here when i ask for them. I took away one star because sometimes it's difficult to get help. Not because they don't care, but because they're all so busy all the time. Usually very clean and everyone is friendly. read more

Ever since Borders closed down I've been coming to this Barnes and Noble. It is a great place, not a lot of good places to sit, and they have recently filled up the middle of the store with a giant Nook display which makes the bookstore look like an Apple store. Personally I don't like that. Either way its a good Barnes and Noble, the clerks have always been really nice and helpful. read more

Just left there and like many others had a horrible experience. First off, the employees have no personality. They walk around like turtles with no sense of urgency. I stood waiting for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Then, when I did order, there was no personality- it was like talking to dry paint. Then they don't call out the orders so when two hot cups go up you don't know which is which and then have to ask them... Which to them looks like a total inconvenience. Not impressed. read more

I purchased a Samsung Nook and was very confused on how to operate it. Every time I called or went to the store the staff person I spoke with was Katelyn. She was always pleasant and told me never to hesitate to call or go back to store if I had any other questions.
