This place does, in fact, deserve every star that is has... and then some! And from me this is saying something, since I have had almost nothing but bad experience with auto body shops and car dealerships. I dropped off my 2004 Toyota Prius this morning to have the front bumper replaced (after an incident in which a mack truck clipped the front corner of my parked car in January) and expected to pick up my car this evening with a new bumper. Pretty minimal expectations, honestly. But they managed to go above and beyond! They did a fantastic job on my bumper, cleaned my headlights (something that has been on my to-do list for years now, so that is a huge life saver), did an excellent interior/exterior clean, and even left a little goodie bag in the car. Let us also go back to the part where the did all of this in a day! When was the last time you had car work done in 1 day?! As an added bonus, the people there are an absolute delight to work with! My husband and I are absolutely tickled by this experience and will absolutely be using and recommending Salem Auto Body for any and all future car needs! read more

I was super stressed trying to fix my car out of pocket. Another shop quoted me over $5,100 and I left feeling defeated and overwhelmed. Then I found Salem Auto Body and Corinn completely changed the experience for me. She's not only incredibly kind and helpful but she's a business owner you can truly trust. She walked me through everything, gave me a quote that was nearly half the price of the other shop, and even found a used red door that matched my car perfectly, saving me another $200. I never felt like she was trying to upsell or take advantage. I honestly felt like she had my best interest in mind the entire time. The work done is incredible my car looks amazing, they detailed the inside, and I felt so taken care of. I loved the staff so much I kind of wish I could just hang out there! Thank you, Corinn and team I'll be recommending you to everyone I know. read more

On our way into Salem, a heavy rain storm rolled through and our low sitting sedan drove through a flooded street causing our engine's splash shield to loosen and drag on the pavement. No questions asked, Salem Auto Body got us into the shop as soon as we called, fixed the splash shield within 20 minutes at no cost to us. Friendly staff kept us company while the car was being fixed, and gave us some good restaurant recommendations since we are from out of town. 10/10 experience, thank you!! read more

Lisa at Salem Auto Body is the sweetest. My sister, sister in law and I decided to take a trip to Salem for a fun Halloween getaway, and were able to find a great parking space at Salem Auto Body. This way we were able to enjoy our plans without worrying about our car. Payment was easy and Lisa was so kind & welcoming! While we didn't visit for a car service, I can attest that their customer care is 10/10. read more

unfortunately the quality is not there. they cut corners, damaged parts and did not do the job they say they would do. even the remedies to their work were sloppy. Corrin is friendly, but "friendly" diednt replace quality work. read more

Someone scratched both of my driver side doors down to the metal on my 5 month old Jeep Grand Cherokee. I brought my Jeep to Salem Auto Body based only on their proximity and their stellar reviews. They did not disappoint. Doors look good as new, and as an added bonus, not only did they wash the exterior and shine the tires, but they fully detailed the interior! Cannot recommend Salem Auto Body highly enough! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT bring your vehicle to the dealership! I won't be going anywhere in the future...... read more

A friend's car rolled into the back of my car in the parking lot. Bumper was damaged on passenger side. Salem Auto was able to repair the dented bumper. It looks great! I completely appreciate Corrin and her team at Salem Auto Body for helping my college-aged daughter with her recently purchased used Honda Accord this morning. We just drove the car over 100 miles to Salem yesterday from CT and noticed the car was making some noise at high speeds. So, this morning from home, I started researching places close to my daughter's apartment that may be able to look at the car. After seeing so many great reviews, I called Salem Auto Body, but didn't realize they were not yet open. Before I could leave a voicemail, Corrin returned my call. I explained the car situation and she said although they may not be able to do the repair, my daughter could come in and have her mechanic look at it (who's awesome) free of charge, and this was after I asked what the diagnostic fee would be. I was so impressed and touched by Corrin's generosity and kindness and, not to mention, her offer to have my daughter come in on a busy 4th of July holiday weekend! My daughter said everyone was so friendly and helpful and the mechanic instantly knew what the issue was with the car (exhaust flex pipe leak). They kindly referred her to a local exhaust expert (Andy's Exhaust), who she will see first thing Tuesday morning. I am so thankful and grateful Corrin and her team were able to help my daughter out and would not hesitate to recommend them based on their excellent customer service, care and friendliness. Thank you so much, again and again! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Where do I begin? My car was in Jason's shop for 3 weeks, only to be return still noticeably scratched and damaged. Claimed he got a new door but just reused my old one (scam artist). Jason also swore and yelled on the phone but was nowhere to be found when I showed up and asked why my car still looked like garbage. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Jason is immature, inappropriate, and overall useless when it comes to finding solutions to issues that occur in his industry. read more

I recently took my car to Salem Auto Body for some repairs on my front bumper after a small accident. I chose Salem Auto Body based on the online reviews. I went to the right place! Jason gave me a very fair price, and my car was ready when he said it would be. They did a great job on my bumper, AND cleaned the inside of my car too !!! My car hasn't been this clean since it was brand new! Everyone I dealt with at Salem Auto Body was professional and friendly. I hope my car doesn't need any more body work, but if it does I will definitely go back to Salem Auto Body. I highly recommend this shop! read more

I have to say they are one of the BEST Auto Body companies around ! Trust me I have had my share of car accidents ! The Owner's are so polite and they work hard to make sure you are happy . They painted the car and it looks like the day I Purchased it. I own a business in Salem Mass and I love that a woman owns this one as well. She is so classy and honest and her husband so polite ! Our experience with Salem Auto Body was very favorable. I found them very easy to do business with, and my wife was both relieved and very, very pleased with the results they achieved on her damaged vehicle. It looks like new and was returned to her in showroom condition. They also provided the substitute rental, etc. and really took care of everything start to finish. read more

Brought grandson's car in for body work, car came back looking brand new . Repair took longer than my impatient grandson liked but that was due to OUR insurance adjuster not Salem Auto Body . Professional, friendly and accommodating staff that remained so even after my bothersome most likely very annoying nagging phone call(s) . 18 year olds aren't the most patient beings especially when it comes to their cars but we warned that our appraiser was very busy and difficult to reach . Well worth the wait - car looks beautiful. Thank you for a job well done and for putting up with us .Dianne Redican read more

This is my go to Auto Body shop. This is the second time I've had work done here and they always give the car back cleaner than when I brought it. It did take a little longer to get done ( mostly due to adjuster delay for supplement request). Go here if you need quality work for a fair price. read more

Could not say better things about this place. Came recommended by a friend after getting my car mirror taken off in Salem hospital parking lot while having surgery. Geico quoted me 1k deductible which was absurd. Called them and the woman was so nice on the phone. Dropped it off and was greeted by such a nice group of people, ran some errands for the day picked it up and to my surprise my car was sparkling clean on the inside! Mirror works perfect and the pricing was extremely reasonable. So happy thank you so much !!!!! read more

Went to this shop for a repair after an accident last year. They fixed my car with no problem, handled everything promptly and timely and gave me a nice rental. A bit later a piece that had been repaired had an issue and I went back yesterday, they ordered the part in front of me and it was fixed at no charge today. Excellent service and no strings attached. Will definitely be back for more repairs as needed! read more

Did some self-inflicted damage to my car with a steel pole in a parking lot. Decided not to go through insurance. I received what I felt like was a fair price from Salem Auto Body. They completed the repair exactly within the time they specified. The work was superb, looked like it never happened. They also cleaned and vacuumed the interior, which I thought was above and beyond. I love using local businesses. I highly recommend this garage. Would absolutely go to them again. read more

I can't really comment on their body work here, but only of their work ethic and how they treat customers. I noticed I had a really low tire while doing laundry up the hill from them... unsure as to where the nearest gas station was, and not really wanting to drive on it too far, I went down to ask the folks in this shop. They treated my silly question very seriously, and offered to fill up my tire for free. They did so immediately, with courtesy, and I was very glad to have decided to ask them! If I have body work needs in my future, I will certainly be swinging by with a bigger request next time. read more

Yes, folks, the five star reviews are for realz. I just picked up my car from Salem Auto Body and I kind of couldn't wait to write this review. In short, my car looks better now than when I brought it in. My tale of woe is that on Christmas Eve (yup), my car pretty much fell into a pothole at under 10 mph (seriously) and the damage appeared to be merely cosmetic. First thing after the holiday weekend, I learned that was too good to be true. When I brought my Honda Civic to Salem Auto Body, they took one look underneath and immediately told me it was unsafe to drive. That stupid pothole, more like a sinkhole, had caused $5600 damage to my car. The good news is that Jeff, Scott & Co. fixed it up, dealt with my insurance company, and in fact, walked me through filing the claim while I was standing there. They also hooked me up with a rental on the spot. I can't emphasize enough how great my car looks. (And it's driving well, too.) They even buffed out a scratch where I was sideswiped last year. Additionally, they completely detailed the interior and left a little care package on the front seat. Lastly, even though I had given them my credit card when I initially dropped off the car, they gave me a sweet discount on my deductible if I agreed to pay by check/cash. No problem. The bank was around the corner. The only heads up I will give, that did not ultimately impact my five-star rating, is that there is no set person at the main number (no "girl at the desk," if you will), so when you call, you may not get a call back immediately and/or they may not be able to get their hands on your invoice quickly. If you're the type of person who needs updates (my car was in their shop for 2.5 weeks), ask for Scott or Jeff's cell phone #. Even if you can't talk to them right away, trust that the work is getting done and is getting done extremely well. Turns out there really was no need for any updates, so I just enjoyed my little rental car and that was that. My mom recommended Salem Auto Body to me, and now I'm recommending them to you. Hopefully you'll never need them, but if you do, they'll save you a lot of hassle and your car will look terrific when they're done. Oh, and it will smell, nice, too. read more

Brought a 2009 Honda in for bumper damage and a broken tail light. Jeff and his crew were able to replace the bumper and identify underlying structural damage my insurance had not estimated. The work was still completed in a week, and Jeff took all my calls personally along the way. A great family businessman. Best part? My truck was detailed beautifully, inside and out. It's never looked so great, even the day I bought it from the dealer. I would recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Had both rotted out fenders done here, which another shop wouldn't touch. The job Jason did was a work of art. They also totally cleaned out the interior and buffed the exterior. Car looked better that when I bought it. They're pleasant and helpful, not like some places I've been. If any body work is needed in the future, I'll be back here. read more

I came to Salem Auto Body for an insurance claim repair. I was rear ended and just needed a bumper and a tail light. Not only did the repairs take 15 days, but I was not called once about the status of my car. I had to call repeatedly to find out when I would be seeing my car. When I arrived to pick it up, my trunk now made a loud buzzing noise when I tried to open it. I showed the mechanics and they tried to blame me as I was "just hit in the bumper" so this "must have already been a problem" - when they replaced the whole bumper and tinkered with the exact location themselves. They also stole all the change from my car. I will not be returning to this shop. read more

no bueno. got my car back and strong alcohol scent and a white powder substance on dashboard.

Good and Bad to say: ( Be sure to read the bad because the situation continues to get worse. This update is October 2017) The first time I had my car repaired, I felt Scott and his men were phenomenal. Upon my return as a great surprise, in addition they washed the inside and outside of the car and left it running for the air to be cool for me. I was amazed at the work and the service. Now for the part that is not good. I returned needing a new hood. While I was home healing from a right broken foot, he delivered the car in which it stayed parked for two more months because I couldn't drive it. When I did, I noticed what looked like white spray of paint on the hood. Four men including Scott looked at it and insisted it was paint chips and that rocks must have hit it. When I tried to reason with Scott, reminding him that I had a broken foot and couldn't drive, which he knew, I tried to ask if one of his guys drove it through construction work or something. I asked that because Scott was kind enough to send my car out to fix the corner of the convertible roof. He said, {{{{ this is a direct quote}} "look, I eat, drink, sleep body work and I think you are looking for a free paint job". I left without resolve. UPDATE...PLEASE read.. now, being a few months later, there are many more white chips. Apparently, the paint is bad. I didn't think of that at first. I wanted to talk it out with him to figure out what it could be but he was very annoyed and offered nothing but an accusation. It was a new hood, I couldn't drive, why would I be seeking a paint job? So now it's clear, with the hood getting worse, they had a bad batch of paint or something. Why would any car paint chip even if you were driving behind a sand truck ? I am not a liar and I felt I was indirectly being accused of such. read more

When I had some body damage on my car to get fixed I shopped around for a good quote. Salem Autobody gave me the best price out of three other shops in the area. Had the worst Thursday last week- hit a woman's car pulling into a parking spot and scratched/dented my rear passenger door, knocking the bumper a bit off. Idiotic, I know, but they do call them accidents for a reason and don't worry- I left the woman a note and we've worked it out. Anyhow, since the lease on my car is up and we're days away from taking it in, I needed it fixed IMMEDIATELY. I looked up local auto body shops and this one had so many great reviews. Let me confirm that it was for good reason! Jeff, the owner, gave me a very fair price and after turning my car in on Thursday around 2 or 3pm I was able to pick it up on Saturday morning. In BETTER CONDITION THAN I LEFT IT! Not only did it seem as though the damage had NEVER happened, but the car, inside and out, was clean. Can't recommend this place enough. He even offered someone to give me a ride home if I needed it. Very thoughtful. read more
