Extremely disappointed with our recent visit. The experience at this office was unprofessional from start to finish. First, a student was sent in to check my daughter with very little supervision, and when the actual doctor came in, they barely spent four minutes with her--no real evaluation, just a quick glance and a prescription before sending us on our way. Later, I realized I needed a doctor's note for my daughter and returned to request one. The front desk administrator was incredibly rude and dismissive--as if I had interrupted her personal TikTok or social media break. She clearly didn't want to be bothered and made no effort to be helpful or understanding. We'll be switching doctors immediately. I don't feel comfortable trusting this office with my child's care again. Very unprofessional and disappointing. read more

Ive been coming here for over 6 years, I have a 10, 7 and 3 month old. I come here pretty often at least once a month recently and I have no complaints. Other reviews seem to be over 1 bad experience and also I noticed it was over a rude front desk staff member, I don't think she works there anymore because the person who use to make appointments was cranky sometimes but recently the staff member who makes the appointments is great.. The worse experience I've had is a long wait time but it was one experience out of 100. Overall the drs are great the staff is nice (front desk and nurses) and wait times are good. 8 out of 10 times I can get a same day appointment if not by the next day and I'm usually in n out within 40 mins. Referrals have always been fast, I never wait long for prescriptions to be sent and Dr may not agree but respects my choice not to vaccinate. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon :) ps l never leave reviews but there ratings made no sense to me. read more

Office staff here do not give you the time of day. I ended up paying out of pocket because they literally just didn't want to listen. Our visits with Alma were very rushed and seemed as if she did not care. I am a first time mom and I never got any more information about my concerns other then "oh yeah that's normal." I ended up finding my son another pediatrician. read more

Unfortunately after looking at these other reviews I'm not alone in this but this review is solely to do with the front office staff. One woman in particular who always answers the phone and sounds like she hates her life and her job answers any question I've asked about the health of my daughter with rudeness and disdain. She is not even the doctor shes the receptionist! I ask to speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about and she claims to ask them but who knows if she even does. I have a 10 week old baby and as a first time mom I have concerns that come up and I am forced to speak to that witch every time I call. After a particularly terrible interaction yesterday I have decided to take my daughter to another office. Too bad because Dr Salazar is nice and I would continue going normally. Maybe its time to fire the problem at the front of the office! Don't get a customer service position if you hate your life and make it everyone else's problem lady. read more

Belinda and Alma are awesome but the ladies at the front desk are rude and disrespectful. They love to talk over you and make scheduling as hard as possible. The front desk girls are so incredibly rude. They do not care about you or your kid. I went to pick up a paper and she was not only rude, she's dumb too. She gave me the wrong paper. They definitely do not know what the he** they're doing. She was the one in the back w the computer in the back. So disrespectful and I cannot believe you have a front desk job. This review is solely for the front desk staff! The other reviews are true! They are super RUDE! I love Dr Salazar, but the admin people just aren't a reflection of her. Dr Salazar referred my 6 month old to a cardiologist and the front desk was supposed to fax the referral. In the midst of me calling the cardiologist several times in 1 day, every time they did not receive the fax. I was calling Dr Salazar's office to confirm and the staff claimed to have sent it twice in that day. So I decided to give it some time and call the cardiologist the next day, again they did not receive it and gave me the fax number to confirm with Dr. Salazar's staff. I call and the front desk person who answered immediately sounded annoyed with the call in general. She cut me off mid sentence and told me they faxed it several times and since the cardiologist didn't get it, I needed to physically come get the paperwork and take it to them myself. I let her know I was trying to remain calm and she was being very unprofessional and that I do not work for the office so the miscommunication WASN'T MY FAULT. I then asked her to verify the number they faxed to and behold, they were sending to THE WRONG NUMBER. That's also gotta be a HIPAA violation I'm assuming. She then told me if she GETS TIME she will send it. My poor baby has a heart issue and the pediatrician front desk staff gets an attitude over a FAX. Definitely switching pcp asap. read more

I have been going to this office for a very long time I was hoping I didn't have to switch, but enough is enough there's a nurse practitioner by the name Blinda she is nice yes but I've noticed through all these years she's just brushing things off and doesn't pay attention to your concerns as a parent, I've gone numerous times paid my copay for me not to get any results, I don't mind copays as long as I get some sort of results. Then for the first time in like 10years I finally saw the doc she gave me a referral to get labs done, results came back negative so my kid was good on that part but once again I had no answers to why my kid was going through what they were going through! So I told the M.A I wanted the dr to call me back because I needed answers 3 weeks pass no call I call back and it's like they never knew I wanted to talk to anyone! Finally talked to the nurse practitioner once again, I work in a drs office I know how things work, the nurse practitioner acting like she didn't even know anything, I asked WELL DONT YOU HAVE THR NOTES FROM THE APPOINTMENT? She answered back yes ok why are you asking questions I've already answered, she goes and says well I want to hear it from you. Finally she says she's gonna refer me to a specialist...FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS REALLY! No don't bother I'll be switching providers, to someone who actually cares about their patients needs and actually want to help someone out instead of collecting money! Please parents if you want to give your kids the best care and go to someone who has their best needs at heart this is not the place. Please don't wait as long as I did to look elsewhere. read more

My son has been coming to Dr salazar since he was born, usually my experience at this office is not too bad, the Dr is knowledgeable and I'm usually satisfied with my son's check ups, but as for the the staff they definitely need re training towards customer service and empathy, they over book their patients causing extreme a wait times, the front desk receptionist was very unprofessional when questioned about the wait times. I been coming to this place 12 years ago ..have 3 girls all of them been seen by Alma Salazar and Belinda great drs..Belinda is very professional very caring she takes her time with each child .each need and goes beyond to make sure the child gets the right medicine and gets full attention to every question we have..shes awsome .the staff is very friendly always..all the girls that work there are friendly and professional..my girls couldnt have a better pediatrician than them..if i could give u guys more than 5 stars i would..thank u for caring for my kids. read more

My daughter is now 6 months and Dr Salazar has been her pediatrician since I delivered. They are very nice and helpful. I've asked them to fill out forms before and they have filled them out in a timely manner. The P.A 's tHere are also very nice but we have our favorite of course! If you have an appointment it's usually a short wait. Whenever I have needed medical advice for my baby I call them and they always are happy to help. Very happy with our doctor and staff. Unknowledgeable and unorganized. Subjected my newborn daughter to a barrage of needless tests including a lumbar puncture and unnecessary antibiotics. Went so far as to diagnose a "suspected" seizure (though she could not say why she suspected a seizure, just that something didn't seem right) and recommended she be moved to a hospital 60 miles away for observation 12 hours after her birth. Scared new mom that I was, I consented. This resulted in being robbed of the first few days of my daughter's life (I was also recovering from a c-section), only to find out there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. Hospital staff were puzzled as to why she had even been sent there, as she was a completely normal healthy baby. A few weeks later I got a 50k invoice for her 3 day NICU stay. Thank god for insurance... A few weeks later, she subjected my daughter to a barium swallow test for acid reflux. Nevermind the ordeal of trying to get anything scheduled with staff in her office (they seem to forget things constantly), this test was also completely unnecessary. Still bitter. Don't make the same mistake I did, find a doctor that knows WTH they are doing. We switched to Dr. Shafai at IE Children's Medical Group when she was about a month old and couldn't be happier. read more

The receptionist have the worst service , every time I call they want to tell me what to give my kid but don't want to give me an appointment . I've been coming here for many years since my first born who is now 16. I now have a 5 year old and an 8 month old. Things have changed a lot w staff here over the years. All I have to say is the front desk staff are rude as hell. They make scheduling an apt over the phone impossible! Like really? This is a pediatrician office and I have a sick baby! I can never ever get a same day or even next day apt. They answer phones and says pls hold and puts u on hold for hours, they don't even wait for u to say ok ,she just sends u to hold. She's rude in person too. Makes the whole experience horrible. From asking you for paperwork to scheduling. They need new staff. Front desk lady hates her job clearly! Retire or go work retail so u can get ur ass handed to u! I never see the actual doctor either. Only np. Which I don't mind but I need the doctor at least once in a few months. After suddenly developing pre-eclampsia at 38 weeks I had Dr. Salazar as my pediatrician for the hospital visit. Our son developed jaundice almost immediately after birth. Thanks to her medical advice his bilirubin levels were back to normal by the second day of our hospital stay. She was kind and informative our entire visit. We felt that she was extremely knowledgeable and really made the birth of our first child a great experience. read more

There have been instances where my son has had a cold or cough and luckily Dr. Salazar's staff has been able to diagnose and recommend care/medicine over the phone! It's an exercise in how poor customer service and patient care can be. While Dr. Salazar is a fine doctor who does her job well, her admin staff is the epitome of unprofessionalism. Miriam may be an efficient medical biller, but as it relates to customer service, office management, and engaugment she is a sub par at BEST. We are currently changing doctors after repeadeted experiences of lack of customer care when interacting with her and encourage all to feel out the office before electing Dr. Salazar as the pediatrician for thier child. read more

Took my granddaughter to see Dr. Salazar after having to switch Pediatricians and we had such a great experience. The staff is very friendly and caring. Dr. Salazar not only took the time to answer our questions but was very thorough while examining my granddaughter. Plus she's very good with the children and speaks in a very caring and kind voice. Dr. Salazar has been the pediatrician for two of our grandsons for many years. Our four and a half year old grandson has been seeing her since birth and she has never once diagnosed his severe autism, which is really quite obvious. When I took him in a month ago for a complete physical, I mentioned that I was concerned about the lack of a diagnosis, and was immediately put in with a P.A. instead of being seen by the doctor. Alright, I was okay with that. I gave the P.A. a letter from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, to be filled out by the doctor after his physical, clearing him for anesthesia, necessary for his pending dental work. Instead of giving it back to me, I was told that they would FAX it to Loma Linda themselves. Today I called Loma Linda to see why I hadn't heard from them, and asked if they had received the release form yet, and they had not. I called Dr. Salazar's office and they didn't know what I was talking about. After checking his chart, they discovered the letter, which still had not been FAXed to Loma Linda. Seriously? It's been one month, to the day! Again, they promised they would FAX it - "not today, but first thing tomorrow morning." Trust me, I will be following up on this to make sure it gets done, even if I have to hand carry it myself. I never received an updated immunization card, which I was told they would send to me, and never received any results from all of the blood work that they ordered for him. Needless to say, she is no longer their pediatrician. read more

Three words; don't do it!!! If I could give zero stars on yelp I would have done so. I don't know where to begin with this doctor. Her husband is great but she is a completely different story. I agree that she is friendly and that is the only good thing about her since she does not know what she's doing. If you have her as your child's doctor; make sure that you do your research and don't believe in everything she tells you- your baby or babies would thank you if they could. I decided to switch doctors when I realized that she was wrong about several things concerning my newborns symptoms and health issues which thankfully were easily diagnosed and resolved with my new doctor. Even simple things she said I don't understand such as - don't give your baby anything but formula until 6 months but when my baby starts throwing up a lot she tells me to try water? That she's over eating probably? When in fact it turned out to be the formula because now she's fine. No more fussiness which she also said was colic and no. It wasn't! I wish I would have switched doctors from the start because my baby would have been feeling better way sooner. Hopefully Dr.Salazar will go back into her medical books from UCLA and try to remember what she was taught because I don't even know how she is a working pediatrician. I'm sure it's not intentional but she is unfortunately harming babies. If your experience has been better than I'm very surprised... And good luck! read more

Her office is always packed, but anytime I call and need for one of my four children to be seen she will see them. Three of my kids were sick at once, ages 3, 2, and 10 months, they all were having difficulty breathing, and i was scared. I only had an appointment for my 10 month old, but when we went Andrea Baer PAC saw all of the children at once. Both her and Dr. Salazar care about my childrens well being, which is why I will never go to another doctors office. When my son broke his arm Dr. Salazar called on a Saturday to check with me and inform me of x-ray results. They are amazing and I recommend more Doctor's to follow their example and have a heart! read more

Dr. Salazar is a great dr. i have been bring my daughter to her since she was born and now shes 7yrs old WOW! but Dr.Salazar is really good with the kids makes them feel safe and relaxed which is a good thing when it comes to kids and doctor offices. Do not go to this doctor's office. Miriam the receptionist, along with another nurse is rude disrespectful. Not only was Miriam rude to me over the phone, when I went into the office she was so mean and disgusting to a young mother of a new born. In a stern voice all she kept repeating was how are you going to pay for this? The office smells dirty. After hour emergency call back from Dr. Salazar is unacceptable.
