I tried your 800 number per your request and it is not a direct line same old recording line to select options and speak to someone. Optum has run its course with me. Your staff does not communicate with anyone. Each call is a repeat of the first one as no one knows how to make notes in computer for the next person to read and no one cares about the conversation only what they are told to reply. I worked with Insurance companies for many years and don't dwell well with unknowledge, uncaring people in your industry. The appointment my husband needed to see Dr Felix after an MRI from a message left and being scheduled taking 4 weeks to see is not acceptable. I printed the report today and deciding on how to handle this issue. I asked for a call from Dr Felix your staff says is not allowed. Did they bother to refer that message to him. The people at that referrals do not look at the different plans and instead of referring to a MD in your city send referrals to MD 30 miles away. They have no regard for or concern for continuity of care or the patient. If you call them they are rude. read more

Have been going to Dr.Felix since 2017. He is a caring & knowledgeable physician. His office was on Brockton & 14th. I made an appointment to see him. When I got to his office it was vacant. They moved their office & never notified their patients nor did the office staff state that they moved on the phone. They moved across from Parkview Hospital. I recently renewed some medications. I got a message from my insurance that the doctor had to renew the prescription as there were no renewals left. My insurance stated he was not responding to their faxes. I called Dr. Felix's office and the receptionist stated that the doctor moved "Yet Again" & had joined a group. His fax & phone number changed (when you called his old number you were forwarded to the new number). The doctor nor his staff notified any of his patients that he moved & his numbers were changed & now he is part of a group. Desperate to find a new physician read more

This place is a joke. I did not get any correspondence or appt reminder for my son's appointment advising location and/or time. I googled Dr. Christensen which provided an address on Brockton where I had gone before. Upon arrival I learned he had moved to new address. I called and they provided new address and said they would advise we were on our way. Upon arrival, the snarky receptionist advised we were 5 minutes past 10 minutes late so she had marked "no show". We would need to reschedule. I said we could wait as long as needed, but we're only there to get a prescription refilled, which originally were told we could come same day anytime to take care of. 45 minutes later after pleading, they stuck to their guns and demanded we reschedule. Ironically enough they scheduled a phone appointment for the next day. A phone or zoom appointment had previously been denied and we were forced to go in person. The icing on the cake for this very unpleasant experience was the down right rudeness of the clerk at the front. Even disrespect towards my 14 year old. I was in disbelief as I observed the accolades they had posted on their bulletin board. Apparently this is one of the good places in the industry. I have never heard of Optum and I imagine it is just renaming of a previous company that earned a bad reputation for the same type of service. By the way, the next day, my son missed class and waited an hour for his 5 minutes phone appointment because they were running behind. We had no option to mark them as a no show. The medical system is broken and disappointing. Stay away from this place in particular, and good luck finding a place that cares about the patient/customer. read more

So frustrated. My husband has been in and out of the ER 4 times. They say he needs to see a GI doctor but all the GI docs have long wait lists, one has openings but requires a MD referral even though we have a PPO policy. I called Dr Felix's office and explained our situation and the women who answered the phone said "well, my next available appointment isn't until June 24th, do want it or not?" 2 weeks out? So ridiculous. No one cares and we are stuck in limbo trying to figure out what's going on and NO ONE CARES. this office was so dismissive. If you need immediate assistance and a compassionate physician office this isn't the place. So disappointed. read more

FINALLY!!! I have found a doctor who I can trust and who makes me feel confident in his care! Pros: 1. Treatment/Care: Dr. Allen is very thorough with his treatment and exams. I went in as a new patient to get a full physical. He spent about an HOUR making sure he checked the standard things for a physical AND all of my outstanding concerns. I had several health concerns which he spent a lot of time addressing (I have actually been told by different "doctor" with Kaiser that he did not have time to address my concerns and could only take time for 2 issues at that appointment, oye vey!). 1a. Referrals: 1a. Recommendations/Suggestions: 1c. Cleanliness: Although the office is small, it is very well maintained and it seems to be kept extremely clean, and when I say clean I mean I didn't even notice any obvious dust. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, so I am familiar with military standards of "attention to detail." 2. Personality: Dr. Allen has the ideal mix of personality. He is very personable and easy to talk to, while at the same time he is socially awkward enough you know he was a "nerd" e.g. bookworm who is highly intelligent. We exchanged stories about our families, but he was still razor focused and not distracted while he asked me questions and inputted that data in his computer. 3. Promptness: It is pretty standard (or at least very common) that a person waits a pretty long time to see a doctor. I will admit there was a bit of a waiting time before Dr. Felix came in to see me, but it wasn't egregious by any means. In fact, I appreciated that he may have been a little bit delayed, as he as just as thorough with his previous patient as he was with me. In comparison to other doctors, Dr. Felix would definitely be considered "early" or at least on time. 4. Education: Typically, I don't put much weight on doctor's education, so long as they graduated from an accredited medical school in one of the 50 U.S. states. However, Dr. Allen's education from USC is an added basis for comfort and confidence in his credentials and training. My only reservation is that I believe he did his residency with Kaiser (yuck), but I don't hold that against him, as his private practice is light years above quality from Kaiser. Cons: The front desk receptionist asked me about what one of my medications was for while I was at her window. This is a MAJOR concern about privacy, especially because there was somebody behind me sitting down who could hear our conversation. Overall, a well deserved five-star rating! Front desk girl would prefer to shop online or be in the phone texting than to help you out in any way. She talks bad about her patients to others in front of everyone in the lobby for no valid reason. She frustrates many of the patients I've talked to and now I've experienced it myself. She is rude if asked any type of question or needs to do anything, god forbid you need to talk to the doctor, she'll make that seem impossible. Save your self the headache, time and money this office clearly doesn't care about your well being. Find an office/doctor that will actually be there for you when you need to get a prescription, a consultation or a referral. Either way, this office will suffer if things don't change. read more

Dr. Felix is an excellent physician and has been my physician for 9 years. My review is strictly for the front office, specifically Ana. I am very reasonable person but I have had many interactions with this individual that are making it difficult to remain a patient with doctor Felix. I was seen in the ER last week. I followed up with doctor Felix last week. She was rude when asking for an update on my referral status even though I was instructed by Dr. Felix to follow up Monday. She became condescending when I told her my insurance company called multiple times to let the office know that they haven't received the referral information. Her reply to me explaining this was "Well, I 'm on the phone with you how can I be talking to them?". Along with many additional rude statements. What she didn't know was that my insurance provider was on the line with us. After hearing how rude she was, the representative asked if Id like to file a grievance. The insurance agent gave me his name and Id number to refer to as witness to the treatment I received. Bottom line: Its been 5 days since I have spoken with doctor Felix and still the medication that he prescribed hasn't been called into the correct pharmacy. read more

Dr Felix was the only Dr that got any of my diagnoses correct. After 5 years and 5 Drs later, he diagnosed my gallstones! It was an emergency surgery and I had 41 gallstones ! He helped me thru a very difficult time and I can not explain how grateful I am to him for helping me thru a very difficult divorce that takes its toll on your health ! I just walked out of Dr. Felix's office. Here is a message I just sent him that details my experience. Dr. Felix, I had an appointment to see you on September 19th at 10:00am. I arrived at your office more than 15 minutes early because I knew that as a new patient, there would be forms to fill out. I was taken back to an exam room just a few minutes after 10:00am - where I waited and waited until finally poking my head out at 10:45am to ask if it would be much longer. Your medical assistant told me five more minutes, I was next. Then, I waited until 11:00am and finally walked out. I came to your office all the way from Redlands because I was looking for a doctor not associated with a large medical group. Beaver Medical Group as well as Loma Linda have wait times of six weeks to see a doctor and I don't want to establish care with a doctor where I'm treated as a number instead of a person. I haven't had a Primary Care Physician in years; it's been so long that I don't even recall the name of the last doctor I saw. What I experienced today at your office and over the last few months in trying to establish care is precisely what is wrong with healthcare today and why I've avoided finding a doctor. No one cares about the patient! I left your office in tears of frustration over the unacceptable wait time and the apathetic, unapologetic attitude of your office manager. When I left the exam room I went to the front desk and requested a refund of my copayment and informed her I had been waiting an hour past my appointment - she offered no reason or apology and the only words she uttered were, "Can I have the card for your refund." Had there been a valid reason/emergency for such a long delay, I would have gone back and waited - I understand that things happen. I hope that this message will initiate some form of change so that someone else doesn't leave your office as frustrated and defeated as I did. I've been a patient of Dr. Felix for about 4 years now and I can clearly and confidently say he is the best Doctor I have ever had in my entire life. Very caring and able Doctor that obviously well schooled, but most importantly very proactive with regard to patients health. Trust me on that last point! I saw someone reviewed him at 1 star because of displeasure with a receptionist!? Are you kidding me??!! She could have just expressed her concern to the receptionist and I'm sure the issue could have quickly been resolved. But to fault and cheat herself out of a really exceptional Doctor for such a petty reason, make me think there are some "intellectual challenges" there, her loss. Dr. Felix is a top shelf, top notch, top floor Doctor period and I hope I can keep him for the rest of my life.
