Dr Vanessa Ho is a one Dr office and in the past 8 years she has been outstanding in her expertise, caring, and communication. Her office staff are organized, efficient, and caring. The portal is user friendly and she or her staff respond to within a few hours. She anticipates my needs before I ask and provides referrals, orders for tests, results of previous tests and a date for my next office visit before I leave. The other day I went to the office to pick up a firm and they had gone to lunch. I returned to my car and heard a tap on my window and the secretary had seen me and brought the form out to me. Dr Ho and her staff are so good in every area, I don`t get the bad reviews. Three of us go to her and we all like her, she is a major relief to us. The staff and doctor are incapable of completing forms. They don't answer the phone or call you back. They are short staffed so the staff is impatient and rude. I have never experienced such dismissive and unapproachable front office. The stress and anxiety caused by this office is unacceptable from a provider that is supposed care about your health. I'm writing this review on behalf of my elderly mother who has stage 4 Lung Cancer, is currently under Chemo treatment, and sitting next to me while I'm writing this. Dr. Ho, is actually a great doctor and treated my grandmother and uncle with great care but something shifted since then. The patient care is absolutely horrific, incredibly abusive, demeaning, and in my opinion needs to be reported to the medical board for abandonment of a patient who has chronic diabetes, Stage 4 Lung Cancer, and other medications needed in order for her to sustain her life. You can not get a hold of anyone in the office and when you finally receive a call back, the office manager/front desk lead berated my mother cutting her off, letting her know that Dr. Ho has dropped her as her patient and didn't allow my mom to explain her current situation. I have NEVER heard of a doctor cutting off a patient who has been struggling to survive for the last year in the hospital, going thru radiation and chemo treatment with her oncologists and then treated her like a common criminal. She tried to make her appts with Dr. Ho but is has been very difficult for her to make it to the office as she has been fatigued and sick from the Chemo. Not to mention the long wait to be seen when you finally make it to the office. And then, to even try & figure out how to get on a Tele-Health zoom call with a senior citizen is debilitating for her. How about just a simple phone call Dr. Ho? How dare you treat my mother this way? You got her so upset that she could barely function after her phone call with your staff today. I will make sure that this story is written about how a medical doctor decided to drop an elderly woman with chronic disease and stage 4 cancer was treated. The staff claimed they had sent letters letting my mom know they had dropped her 4 months back, but there were no letters. They lied because just 4 weeks ago Dr. Ho's office refilled her on-going prescriptions but decided to pull the plug and refused to help her with any refills for a chronic disease without any warning after just refilling them 4 weeks ago. And now we are scrambling to find another doctor who will refill her prescriptions with only 3 days left before she runs out. It's not like all of sudden my mom woke up, the diabetes, and her other health conditions went away. What do you think would change in one year?? Really?? Maybe you just don't care that she might die in the end. You figure she has Stage 4 Cancer and old. One less patient for you to treat. Right? Shame on you. Shame on you! read more

Never have I ever been treated so horrible by a so called MD. After 3 years of seeing Ester, who is no longer with this office, hmmmm, wonder why, I finally see Dr.Ho. She quickly negated all my on going medical concerns and demanded more testing before refilling my migraine medicine as well as my muscle relaxers, and diazapam because I'VE BEEN SICK. I'm not a pill seeker, in fact, I refuse 75% of drugs. Three surgeries, including bicep reconstruction and shoulder repair, I only took pain pills for one week. I have never heard nor seen a medical professional put me off for autoimmune disease because I WASN'T WEARING A MASK!!!!!!! So now after almost 2 years my migraines back,sinusitis, and tension headaches never go away. I literally have a reaction to the Sun nowadays and get sick super easily that leaves me bed ridden for weeks. I was just in the ER twice in the last 10 months. I'm a long hauler from COVID because I'm immune compromised and got it on my last visit. Oh I was wearing a mask that day. That bout left my in bed for weeks... After me explaining to Dr. Ho that Ester had already done everything Dr. Ho was suggesting Dr. Ho got frustrated with me and said "If you don't like my approach you can find another Dr." Wow, all because I called out University Pain as a pill mill. So I now I have no Imetrex for this building migraine that's competing with my sinus and tension causing absolute panic attack. All while my legs are visibly cramping. At this point my wife is on the phone with my insurance because this is my 4th medical professional replacement in as many years. 2 of my Dr.s were arrested and I continue to stuffer now with no Dr. as Dr. Ho tosses my to the street because she really never looked at my files rather just signed it. How do I know this, because she told me she did. Since she knew NOTHING of my situation and blamed me for her offices short comings. She is what's wrong with the medical field. They don't want to actually help you. Instead just pass you off to the next office billing my insurance for the same stuff over and over again. Now I am forced to redo everything again after 13 years of verifiable medical records. This lady took an oath to do no harm and yet here I am having to get off benzos COLD TURKEY. Lucky for me I don't take them daily or depend apon them But I'm willing to bet she would do the exact same thing to another who is. FOLKS THE LAW ONLY ALLOWS ONE YEAR TO FILE A MALPRACTICE LAW SUITE. Don't miss the boat cuz this Dr. needs to be investigated for her treatment and lack of effort in the cases she overseas. read more

If I could give a no star review I would. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Ho's for close to six years and the service has become less than satisfactory. My dad has suffered with arthritis for as long as I can remember, and she had prescribed him a medication to help with the pain, and he had run out of refills and called to see if he could get his prescription sent over since he had been on it for a long period of time and refused to give him it since he hadn't been seen in a few months. I guess arthritis can just go away in a few months. My dad also went in for an appointment due to his hip bothering him and he wanted to get an X-ray to see what the issues was and was asked if there was any other pain, he replied that his wrist had been bothering him as well and was told "we cannot do anything about that today since there is no prior record of this in your file" so apparently if you're having multiple issues you can only be seen for one of them, it seems that their main priority is getting your money via copay. My mom has had hormonal issues that have grown to be much worse, and rather than running tests and whatever needs to be done to reach the root of the issues she just suggested my mom in her 50s start taking birth control. Any normal doctor would want to find out the issue rather than slapping a bandaid on an issue that clearly has a much deeper rooted issue. Then this morning my mom had an appointment to deal with her migraines, and after the pre appointment workup was done and she had been sitting in the room for almost twenty minutes to have a nurse come in and tell my mom that Dr. Ho no longer wanted to see her as a patient, and refused to speak to my mom as to why she was being cut as a patient. Now myself, I've suffered with symptoms that seem to line up with endometriosis since I was 16 and I've had to be on birth control since then to help regulate my hormones so I'm not having multiple periods a month. My body has come to reject birth control after a year or so bringing me back to multiple periods a month like when I was 16, I am now going on 23 still suffering with these issues. Dr. Ho has never once ran blood work, so see what the issue is with my hormones, or anything to help the issue with my periods has just switched my birth control every year. I have been on 5 different birth controls since being a patient of hers, and when I ask to have any blood work done or to have an ultra sound to see if there's issues with my uterus which could be the issue with my periods I was told "oh no your birth control hormones are just too high" then once the hormones are lowered I am getting multiple periods again, I had to call and basically yell at the receptionist in June in order to get a referral for an ultrasound because I had just been in a week prior for this issue, and they were refusing to give me a referral because I needed to be seen for the issue, when I had just been in office not even seven days before. In conclusion, Dr. Ho is only interested in making a quick buck from a copay as does not even the bare minimum when it comes to your appointment, if at all possible stay away from her office it is not an environment you want to receive medical care. read more

I left Kaiser because they wouldn't give me back my anxiety medication because I was taking Xanax and the doctor wanted to put me on some thing else even though I have had panic disorder since I was 26 and I am almost 60 this medication has been working for me but I have lost a daughter and my husband and all the traumas I've been through I think they should just leave my medication alone at Kaiser so I had to leave because they were trying to take it away so I went to see Dr. Vanessa ho after I got Medicare and Scan Health Care in the visit was OK but I don't think she liked me because I have tattoos I have a portrait of my daughter and flowers with my daughter other daughters name no bad words no skulls nothing bad but she totally profiled me and said I lied to her that upset me so bad because I am already feeling like I'm having a nervous break down so now I'm afraid to go even look for a doctor and I told her I was taking 6 of the white Xanax but it wasn't enough because he kept taking them away from me so she took me from six and only gave me two then she made me appointment with what I thought was a psychiatrist but he was a nurse practitioner then she called me and said that I was a liar and I showed her my bottle that I had before from Kaiser and it said take to every three times a day that six a day? And she said it doesn't matter you lied to me and said you were taking six but you're not go find another doctor and I have fibromyalgia and joint disease but I can't find a Doctor Who will give me pain medicine and Xanax even though I have a chemical imbalance choose One that said so I'm either in pain or I'm in the corner curled up because I can't function without Xanax or I have panic attacks my brain doesn't produce the chemical that makes you calm!!! Since my first visit back in 2016 until January of 2020 Dr. Ho was my PCP. What started out as a rocky first experience turned into a 3 and a half year relationship. Due to being forced to get a new insurance with my employer I am no longer under Regal Medical Group. Dr. Ho provided me with excellent care, follow up and referrals whenever I asked, no questions. I had my PCP updated to Dr Ho after relocating to Riverside and the experience of even trying to make an appt is enough to make me change PCP's. I was in the hospital with pneumonia and was required to have a mandatory PCP follow up visit. I tried contacting her office for 2 weeks to schedule the appt which was very time sensitive and was forwarded to an answering service. The agent told me that most of the time, I will have no direct contact with the doctor's office and all they could do was leave a message for someone to call me back. Needless to say, no one ever called me back even after I told them it was an emergency. This office should not be listed as accepting new patients if new patients can't even get in touch with the office to make an appointment. Changing my PCP as soon as I'm able to research another in the area. read more

I have never seen a doctor's office that is so unprofessional, unkind, and unwilling to accept responsibility for their mistakes.Some people are just in it for the wrong reasons. It must be wonderful to screen all your calls, gathering notes from patients to give them a sense that the provider's concern for them.Calling the office, playing phone tag, and having to leave a message for a call-back that may take up to 24 hours or not at all is annoying. Then, for a tiny office that probably sees no more than 20 patients each day, your office takes a two-hour lunch break. Her bad attitude and professionalism are reflected in her team. If you don't lead by example, your entire office and staff will think it's OK to treat patients the way you do. As a physician, you should have known better. For the sake of the patients' safety, if you're burnt out from the pandemic maybe you should stop seeing patients. Vanessa Ho is a rude medical professional who only helps those she wants to help. She will leave the room and summon her assistant if she decides she doesn't want to hear what you have to say any longer or agree. She hurries your appointment. Doctor Ho is a great doctor, but they have no walk in, which sucks if you live a busy life and had no plans of getting sick. Most appointments are a week back, so by the time you get an appointment you will be healed and no longer need to go in. Also, you get charged $25 for no show appointments. I feel like their system is stacked against you and overall inefficient. read more

I used to LOVE this office, but things have changed. With me unable to get an appointment to see my primary, on more than one occasion, due to poor office staff & unavailable doctor. The wonderful updated phone system, that leaves you holding so long you can watch the phases of the moon pass. Not recommended. Urgent care my husband went to them 1/22 the doctor gave him cough medicine and he wanted antibotic, she tells him if cough medicine doesn't work and he gets worse text her and she'll give him antibotic have already texted her twice haven't from her. The doctor tells you that you have breast cancer and diabetes and that something is wrong with your kidneys and send you on a quest to get about 10 labs done so they can bill your insurance and charge you hundreds of dollars. Don't go here they lie about their appointment policy and make you feel as if your health is in danger. They don't care about you and they would rather squeeze money out of your insurance but you work so hard to pay. I agree with what everyone is saying - things have definitely changed at the office, and not for the better. Been going for about 8 years and it seems like they don't care anymore. I went to an appointment yesterday (Not able to get in to see Dr. Ho for over a month, so I made an appt with the nurse practitioner - even that took 2.5 weeks to get). I showed up early, but still waited about an hour and a half. I checked to see how much longer, and they said it would be another 30-40 minutes!! NOPE - I was done, and left. Having to wait in the lobby 2 hours and who knows how long inside the exam room - NO. Time for a new doctor. When I left - not even an explanation as to why the wait, or an apology :( Frustrating waste of all that time for nothing. So, in my opinion, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Ho anymore. I have recommended more than a couple people to her, but I won't do that anymore. Disappointing!!!!! read more

Horrible customer service, I spoke to her staff today at 2:30pm and was okayed to bring my son alone with me to my appt that was scheduled for 4:20pm. When we arrived we where told we can not be seen because she has an appointment at 5:00pm. Doctor or the staff do not call back. Hard to get a hold of someone at this office. My daughter had lab work done 3 weeks ago and has not heard from the doctor's office about the results and has 3 messages so far and so response. The whole practice seems like has attracted a lot of patients since it opened up-(that's when i became a patient) and now it's too overwhelming for them to take care of everyone's need. When i voiced my opinion to the office manager one day since i had to leave work and be there for a prescription refill, i was called in the back office, and was told by the manager that the doctor overheard my conversation with her and refused to see me. My issue is that I was there, why could the doctor not talk to me directly and solve the problem rather than the office manager letting me know. I told her I had taken time off from work to be there and not seen by the doctor was really unprofessional. To wait 3-4 weeks to get lab results is very unprofessional as well. i would hate for anyone to go through all the pain we went through with this office. So careful when you choose them. First few visits will be awesome and then back to what they do best - nothing. read more

It is baffling to encounter a doctor that would be so disregardful towards their own patient. This negligence only goes to show that just because the tittle of doctor is handed out does not necessarily mean that our primary care doctor ACTUALLY CARES for our well-being. The fact is that we do not know her work load nor personal life, but do not call yourself a primary care physician when all you do is charge us and our insurance to only send out referrals and then demand that we change doctors when we ask for CARE. This doctor is at the office 3 days a week--so, if you're looking for treatment it better be Thursday, Friday or Saturday. read more

I have never been treated so terribly by a Dr. Office ever. I call Monday to see about a TB test, they tell me I can walk in whenever and it's free since it's a nurse visit. I go in Thursday, and the receptionist tells me I can't just walk in. They are busy. (I didn't mind waiting, and TB tests take a few seconds). So she says to come tomorrow. I ask if I need an appointment, she says no she will remember me. I go in today, they tell me it's $25 and claim they just got a notice that they charge for Vaccinations. What a bunch of crooks. The reason they take on more than 3 problems/health issues would be because more than half ( my opinion) do not care to take on more than that many health issues. People are sick lady! And I appreciate when they take two hours to call my name as long as I get the same treatment like everyone else is getting there. I've been to so many doctors here I. I did pull my children out of Dr. Ho's office, but for convenience sake I remained. Some issues came up and I needed a doctor. I have noticed that after the many changes in the office were made things started to iron out a bit. I still don't feel that the care is personal or friendly. Its still very routine and very methodical. However, I do still feel like Dr. Ho is as good a doctor as I did when I wrote my original review. I still wish the family atmosphere was there. Like I said in my first review : If you want a good doctor that will look at you diagnose you and send you on your way then dr. Ho can do that for you. read more
