My primary concern was dismissed by the doctor in the first 5 min. He asked to see my skin and told me he has the same type of moles on his skin, his moles were bigger, and that they aren't connected to anything hormonal, which was my concern. This is when I should have left, since he either didn't take me seriously or didn't know how to help me with that and just couldn't admit it. Then he took my pulse and literally accused me of trying to slow down my pulse. "It was normal but then you tried to slow it down." Uhh.. what??? It made me feel belittled, again. I ended up paying for the consult and tests, went home and realized I was pretty unhappy and this wasn't going to work out. I called the next day asking for a refund and to discontinue my journey with the doctor. Came into the office, was processed the refund for the tests only. Receptionist then hands me a letter from the doctor. It was like a bad break-up letter, lol. He states that he gives the same level of care to all other patients. If that's really so, then take your money elsewhere, where you won't be dismissed for something seemingly benign. He is happy to take a pretty hefty fee of $320 and not want to make it right if you're dissatisfied. Everyone has a right to post reviews. The staff are all so kind, polite, and communicative. I've never had a call, text, or email go unanswered. Dr. Hinson himself has a very holistic approach and wants to make sure that X isn't affecting Y to get to Z. His methodologies, tests ordered, treatment plans, are all explained to you with a why and any details you'd want. I am used to a DO, homeopathic leaning remedies, avoiding prescriptions or strong meds if I don't NEED them and Dr. Hinson is on board with that - I'm given options for everything. I can not make appointments, request referrals, message my provider, see test results, etc. Altais failure to transfer my files is causing potential harm or possibly death. This is verging on malpractice.
