I ordered a salad with spinach, romaine and a few other random ingredients. I had basaltic vinegar as my dressing. The issue with my salad was that the spinach did not taste like it was clean. It had a gritty taste (spinach does naturally) but there was also visible substance in the creases that I could scrape with a fork. I talked to the manager, he said that they do not wash their food in house. They come prewashed. In this day where E. Coli can easily be transmitted from items like spinach, I would not recommend consuming the spinach at Salata as there is no guarantee that the spinach arrives clean. Hmmm... This location is new, clean and nice. Service was reasonably good, but nothing to write home about... They are pretty stingy with servings of everything, down to the cilantro (which is about .50 cents a bundle at the grocery store ).. And the salad had about 8 cubes of chicken...... I dine at Salata pretty much once a week or once every two weeks (for my vegetable intake :D) and tend to go to whichever location is closer to me at the time. Since I was in the area, it was lunch time, and saw that this location just opened, it was a sign that I should stop by and call it my lunch break. Once I walked in, a server immediately greeted me, and I was surprised to find 4-5 servers behind the counter (usually, I see 1-2 at the other locations). Since this is a chain restaurant, I expected the offerings to be the same, which it was. The place was spotless, the servers were nice, and they even played classical music! Hopefully, it stays this way, and the manager doesn't start cutting costs as time progresses because this is probably the best location I've been to. read more

Oh how quickly things can change. I've been here multiple times since my first visit and each time, it's been worse. The last time I went in, there were more than a handful of vegetables that weren't in stock, the lettuce was browning (WTF), and the portions they gave were noticeably less. They also didn't have enough people working to man the line around dinner time so it took longer than expected. They changed up the pricing as well. Love love love this place! I've only been here twice but my salad combinations were great both times. The only reason I docked it a star is because of the speed in which you are first greeted and your order is taken...it's a little slow regardless of the number of clients. The staff is very friendly though, they may just need more help. Also when you sit down to eat and look over at the salad bar the lights are beaming in your eyes. Not a huge flaw but a flaw in the setup none the less. Overall though, I would highly recommend this place bc the food is delicious and super healthy. I went to Salata around 8:40 p.m. on a Wednesday night, which was 20-minutes prior to their typical closing time. I ordered a wrap, and I was surprised at the large variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and dressings I could put together. For a quick, healthy alternative to fast food, I could see myself coming here consistently, especially for that ~$10 price/meal. I wish they opened later than 9:00 p.m. and were not closed on Sundays, but what can you do? On a side note, the employees look miserable. I spoke with one, and she told me that it's been non-stop service since she started her shift, as it's a pretty busy location. I think they need to hire more people. I frequent one of the other Salata's near my work off 290 and that's where I fell in love! Once this location opened closer to home I was so excited to try it and was not very impressed. The ingredients were great and fresh so I can't complain about that but the size of my salad was smaller than any another salad I've had here. It probably filled up about half of the to-go container which isn't what I'm use to when I go there. I felt gypped and was still hungry! They were fairly new so I'll give an update once I decide to give them another try. read more

Yay! I finally made it to a Salata! (I don't know what exactly is says that I don't have any friends who want to go to a salad only place with me). I got a small salad with lots of fresh veggies and chipotle chicken & chipotle ranch dressing-both of which actually did add a nice kick. I also got a piece of the herb bread-yum. The service was quick & friendly, the salad was of good quality and tasty, and I left very happy and satisfied. I hope to be back for another solo lunch :) read more

They're good. All the Salata's I've been to are. What I like about the Salata restaurants - other than the unfailingly fresh ingredients - is that their servers are easy-going and sometimes chatty. I've never encountered a rude or abrupt Salata server. I went to this one the other night, and mentioned that I had not tried a couple of the meats, and the server quickly offered samples, and then 'Here, allow me please.' as she put out her hands to take the sample toothpicks back. I mumbled half to myself that the broccoli soup looked interesting and was quickly offered a generous sample. And it was very good, very fresh. I am guessing it must be made onsite or at least locally. The Salata chain is very consistent, always very fresh, reasonably priced, clean and friendly. I've patronized two in the tunnel, the one at at Memorial City, and now this one, and they've slowly risen in my awareness as being one of the smartest, best-run franchises in town with consistently excellent food, and healthy at that. I love Salata, but this is the first time I was not happy about my salads. I ordered two: a large and a wrap. This was also my first experience ordering online. I won't do that again either. I ordered it for 11am. One might think the lettuce would have been fresh. It wasn't. It was old and brown. The cabbage was big and poorly cut. This is just what I found in the large salad. I've been at this location today for lunch , it was pretty busy but the service was really fast !The employees were extremely polite and welcoming. Great salad shop, with a large selection of both vegetables and proteins. Price is good, although not excellent. Beware of lunch time rush hours, when you're likely to queue for up to half an hour. Overall service is good though, amd the taste is awesome! read more

I can get salad and all my beans for protein (edamame, black beans, red beans) chick peas, plus cucumber, bell pepper, snow peas, black olives, broccoli, corn, banana peppers, tomatoes, carrots. I'm so excited! I've been meaning to go here for some time, but just kept forgetting about it when I was deciding where to go. I finally went and recreated a Greek salad I used to have when I worked downtown a decade ago at a place called Simon's under Allen Center. Of course, the key is the dressing and it was great. I tell a friend and they tell me Salata has been around for years. I know I've seen them here and there but don't think it's been that long...because I'm older and things that happened a decade ago only feel like a few years ago now. Anyway, I look it up and, lo and behold, Simon's did become Salata. So now I'm really excited and have already been back a few times. I will definitely be back many times over. read more

I am addicted to their salads ~ The staff is friendly ~ they get you through the line quickly without rushing you. I noticed someone said they are chinchy but that has not been my experience. It is always more than I can eat in one sitting. Although I have been before, I went yesterday and today which is a sign that I LOVE IT! EVERYTHING in the place is immaculate from the salad bar to the ice/drink and condiment area. I told the cashier how much I love their salads and he said they are opening another location on W Gray which is even closer to my house; I cant wait. The food is typically consistent; the portions have not been. You typically need to ask 3 times to get more than like 5 peas or 2 jalapeño slices. Additionally, bc they are just rushing to keep up, the protein servings are about 2/3 of what they used to be. Of course, if you question anything, they want to charge you more. This place used to be on point, but has faltered mainly due to surging demand and the inability to listen to the customer quite frankly. I'm not sure if i came in at the wrong time but the customer service wasn't all that great (came in 2 hrs before closing) . The employees seemed like they didn't want to be there. Not only that but there was 4 tables that were dirty ! The broccoli soup didn't taste fresh and the amount of lettuce , toppings etc is a small portion . All the other locations give a good amount on a regular salad . I basically paid for a regular salad but what seemed like a small salad . I'm disappointed because salata is one of my favorite restaurant and i also saw some good reviews. Poor Management and quality issues now plague this Salata location. Generally, I'm a big fan of Salata, but this one has gone downhill. It seems like anytime I go there for lunch or dinner regardless of the day they always seem under staffed and there is always a backed up line. However, after way too long the "green shirt" will go to the back and pull someone in for help (bringing the team typically from 2 to 3). What does this tell us? That they don't know how to manage their personnel and schedule their breaks accordingly. The person they pulled in was not the person scheduled to be on the floor (they were both wondering where the 4th person was). The time it normally takes for me to get a crappy wrap I could be down the street at BFD eating a nice, sit down dinner. Now, the quality issues; I usually get a wrap from Salata and at most locations they actually look like a well filled wrap. This location under fills my wrap to the point to where I can't tell if it's a wrap or a sad looking soft shell taco. The ingredients are pretty much swimming in the tortilla. Each bite is an unsatisfying search for chicken, jalapenos, veggies, and anything but totrtilla. Get it together guys. I'll be looking for another place to get my salads/wraps. read more
