Went at my friend's request for her birthday lunch. I'd never been so as always up for something new! Their menu is pretty big with lots of choices so I checked it out ahead of time to know what I wanted. My friend hadn't and found the choices were a bit overwhelming but she made her decision and we ordered. It wasn't busy and our server was friendly and accommodating to questions. The portion of just salad is huge so I declined the roll that was included. I got the Buffalo Chicken and blue cheese salad with everything it came with. My friend ordered the half n half which included a small cup of soup and a choice of half a panini sandwich or small salad. She had the lobster bisque which she liked although no lobster chunks but some shreds were in it and salad. Her salad was a doable size compared to mine! I ate about half and was full. It had nice chunks of blue cheese and small chucks of the chicken which wasn't very buffalo but tender. We each got bottled water. They don't serve fountain drinks here. We picked the 2 choice deal, and for us, that was half of a buffalo chicken grilled pannini sandwich and half a "crispy" chicken salad. Sandwich did include a slice of cheese but nothing else and very little chicken. Also, we were not given a choice of cheeses. We asked to add some onions on the salad and were told it would be an additional $1.75. I enjoyed this Reno restaurant! I was craving a fresh salad, and of course Yelp brought me to the best place in town to get that. You can make your own salad here, or you can select one of the salads they recommend. They prepare it right there in front of you, then hand you the salad and the mixing bowl for you to enjoy. Their soup is also pretty fantastic. It is in a strip mall, so there isn't much to admire as far as ambience but I wasn't there for that anyway. Service was great and quite efficient. The salad bar has a ton of options to choose from but the upcharge for extra toppings is pretty steep. You're definitely paying for convenience. Flavor is lacking tremendously. We received our food very quickly. The food was good! I got the chicken Caesar salad with a half Caprese panini. The salad was refreshing however I wish it was romaine letter and not iceberg. I did appreciate that the staff member told me to say "when" for the dressing. The panini was hot and yummy! I wish it would've had more cheese in it but still delightful. When we walked in, there were around 4 people busy at work behind the counter getting orders together. Some customers were waiting to pick up orders that they placed in advance. This is a good sign to me re how fresh the food is. We took a look at the menu and my husband knew right away that he wanted the Avocado Cobb salad. I noticed that all of the "signature" salads included meat except for the Classic Greek, but I wasn't in the mood for that one. One of the friendly young men behind the counter greeted us and told me I could order any of the signature salads and substitute tofu instead of the meat. The young man said as far as tofu goes theirs is prepared well and tastes very good. So my husband placed his order and I decided to go with the Asian Crispy Chicken with tofu instead of the chicken. The server also said he could put the same sweet chili sauce on the tofu that they use with the chicken. We both had our dressings on the side. We brought our salads home and we both enjoyed them very much. So fresh and tasty! They were so large that I ended up only eating half and having the rest today for lunch! We will definitely go back. I have to call every time for my pickup order which is actually fine as everyone that takes my order is very nice, but I prefer the option of not having to call personally. So anyway I absolutely love their wraps, they seem a bit small in length but they are packed with your choice of ingredients (and there's a lot of choices). It is enough for me to have half on each of my two breaks at work. Really fills me up and it feels healthy-ish even with pasta as my base haha. The wrap comes with 5 included ingredients and you can add more for a price. My go to combination is pasta, grilled chicken, shredded mozzarella, sliced egg (hard boiled), diced tomatoes, and fresh avocado. It is seriously perfect, although the cheese could be a bit more I may ask for extra one of these times. The service is from teenagers/young adults who seem pretty capable and most are very friendly. I haven't eaten inside the restaurant but its a nice open space nothing super special about it though. Round trip this is a 50 minute drive for me... but I do it every so often when the craving for one of these wraps gets overwhelming. And food delivery isn't reAlly my thing yet. A man came in, and though they acted like strangers, she let him take food without paying. They later met near the restroom for some kind of exchange, making the situation feel off. At first, I thought she was just stressed, but her behavior made it uncomfortable to eat there. Saladworks is sort of close to home for me. I had been wanting to try it since it opened and I found a good evening to treat myself to dinner. Upon walking in, I immediately had no idea what I was doing. Luckily, one of the gals behind the counter was kind enough to point out a set menu of salads you could select from. This was greatly helpful and I made a choice much faster! You can build your own, I just didn't want to commit to that process this time around. I ended up getting the Southwest Chipotle Ranch Salad. The girl who made my salad was very helpful. I was able to forgo ingredients I didn't want quite easily. I also prefer my dressings on the side as I find most salads are overdressed. They also give you a dinner roll with your salad if you would like. I ordered a cookie with my meal too. I 'checked-in' to Saladworks on Yelp and even got a free fountain drink - although I don't think anyone working the counter had seen that deal before. It was a bit of a hassle in the end using it because no one was too sure how to get that redeemed for me. I got my meal home and was ready to chow down. I didn't like the chipotle ranch, but I had luckily ordered normal ranch. Neither dressing had the 'made in-house' taste to me. The normal ranch dressing was doable though. I loved the corn in this salad, it had great flavor. The rest of the salad tasted fresh. The dinner roll was a little dry. My cookie was massive and gone within the sitting. It was soft and had a good flavor! I've heard that the soups at Saladworks are pretty good. I'll have to go back in once the weather is cooler and I'm feeling more like a soup. And they have wonderful choices. This time I decided to try the " make your own salad". This includes five different items. I started with power greens which is a mix of the kale, spinach, spring mix. For my five choices I went with tomatoes, roasted broccoli, roasted brussels sprouts, two scoops of chicken. I had them mix ranch and a sweet sesame dressing. I have to say the sweet sesame along with the roasted vegetables, just made for a perfect flavor. My wife and I came here for our weekly lunch date about 12:30pm on their third day of business. They have outside and inside seating and also have a to-go pickup area near the cash register. We were directed to the line to place our order and were able to also grab a paper menu so we could get familiar with their menu. They offer salads, sandwiches, wraps, soup and a few desserts. It's similar to other restaurants where you place your order at the counter and they build your item. We each chose the roasted Turkey club salad which included your choice of greens (romaine/iceberg, spring mix, spinach or kale) along with radiatori pasta, roasted Turkey, bacon and chopped tomatoes and your choice of dressing. They prepare your salad in a nice big stainless steel bowl and ask you your desired amount of dressing (light, medium, heavy) and if you would like the salad tossed along with a warm wheat roll. The process seemed well organized even though it was busy and we were trying to get familiar with the options and menu. We chose to eat outside even though it was windy but they also package the salads up in nice to-go containers if needed. We like the concept and everything tasted nice and fresh. I ordered a Half Signature Salad & Half Panini Melt with a Amy's Fall Fest Salad and a Tomato Mozzerella and Basil Panini along with a custom made Greek wrap (for dinner that night). I honesty did not like the Amy's Fall Fest salad, but I largely blame myself - I should of read the description better. That stated - the salad was really heavy in cubed cheese and noddles, I would of preferred a healthy greens and veggie salad. Not taking a star off though because the ingredients are uber fresh, they provided me what I had ordered and the mistake was mine - I should of ordered a salad with all the ingredients that I would of liked - not one with a catchy name. The panini was good (I'd eat it again), cooked well and tasty, but I would prefer to try a soup and green based salad next time (if I'm aiming for 'healthy' a cheese based panini is not the way to go. The wrap however was to die for! I LOVED IT! I got the Classic Greek wrap and edited it according to my taste e.g.wheat wrap, Kale (not romaine), tomatoes, red onions, feta, kalamata olives, cucumbers, smoked chickpeas, and baked tofu. If I want a quick meal that is healthy and unlike traditional fast food places, Saladworks is the move! Set up like a Chipotle or Subway, there is a bar of ingredients laid out in front of you with endless possibilities of combinations. I like that you can create your own or choose a pre-created combination! They have soups, salads, and sandwiches. You can do a 1/2 and 1/2 meal where you get a smaller size of 2 items (like soup and salad). Any salad can be made into a wrap as well. I went with the Greek salad as a wrap! I got it exactly as the combination recommended with the suggested dressing. I like that they let you decide how much dressing goes into it, that way you know you're getting exactly what you like. The wrap came with chips and was $15 total! Not bad for the large serving size you get--I was full from the wrap and didn't even get to the chips! The only downside of my experience was the poor job on the wrap. It was a pretty pitiful effort to be honest, it was falling apart as soon as I removed the wrapping. I would've preferred less salad if that's what it takes to get the wrap to close. However, I managed to mostly keep it together and it was exactly the taste I was hoping for! It was a great combination of ingredients and just the right amount of dressing. This Saladworks location is just right down the road from my best friend's house which makes it such an easy spot to grab a quick dinner to eat on the back porch after a long day. I'm always looking for options that are healthier than the average fast food joint but that have the same ease and convenience which can be difficult at times, but this spot covers both! My wrap was delicious and the ingredients were very well blended within the wrap. I've driven past this restaurant for months as it's right next to my gym but was never in this area during their hours. The restaurant has a very fresh and clean appearance and atmosphere from the minute you enter along with the professional and clean graphic design and marketing you expect from a chain restaurant. The menu was a little overwhelming at first with all the options, so I opted to go with one of their premise options. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Mediterranean Wrap with a side of their Greek Vinaigrette, an iced tea, and chips. I was very tempted to buy one of their 12+ soup options but held off. The wrap was hefty and filling and they didn't skimp on the chicken which was nice. When it was being made, the woman making my order made sure to verify that all the ingredients were ok by me, and let me customize the amount of dressing she put on it. I opted for light dressing (Garlic Oil Vinaigrette) because i wanted to put some on each bite like a burrito. Their Greek vinaigrette was loaded with cheese and delicious. After my meal I was pretty full but I couldn't stop thinking about the soup so I went back and got a small Italian Wedding Soup after consulting the man at the counter about his opinions on the soups he had had. He was open and honest and even responded to questions about how they were made (they come from a company that makes them fresh in a kitchen and freezes them and they are reheated in the oven) The Italian wedding soup was very good with nice meatballs that weren't too mushy and you could tell were from real meat and handmade, nothing like preproduced canned soups. If I was served this soup in a sit down Italian restaurant, I probably wouldn't give it the best review ever but I certainly wouldn't be disappointed, and it was far more than I expected from a chain salad restaurant like this. While a minor part overall, their iced tea was also exceptionally good and not too strong or too weak and definitely not old (a big thing for me because I'm an iced tea fanatic) Jonah and Alise (Alice?) were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful and knew about the chains history and such (I wasn't sure if this was a chain or not to being with). Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area and really hope to see this chain expand into the west coast more.
