Stopped in for a quick lunch with a coworker. The space is rather small and fills up quickly, but they do take call-aheads for larger groups. They have a variety of ramen and sushi options. The service was quick and super friendly. I had the chicken ramen and it was delicious! Loved the broth and grilled chicken! On a cold, rainy day in Dublin is was a perfect match for me. Having only been living in Dublin a few months I hadn't found my local sushi haunt just yet. Last week however the craving became too strong and I went on Just Eat to find one so I chose Sakura for no particular reason, and I'm glad I did! I got the Sushi Platter (36 piece) to share with my friend. The norimaki and hosomaki were just scrumptious! I really like the nigiri also aside from the squid one but that's just personal preference. I'm loving this place and it's only opening weekend. The food is top quality, wonderfully fresh and super tasty. I have yet to try the proper raw fish sushi but judging by everything else I am sure it will be excellent. They do takeaways and they plan on starting a delivery service soon. There is also a small relaxed restaurant which seats at least 10 people and lets you BYO for a corkage of €3. Japanese pop music was playing in the background and the staff were friendly, helpful and seemed excited to be involved in the new business. My order took about 20 minutes to make so in future I will order before leaving my house which luckily for me is only 2 minutes away. On my first trip I got a takeaway of gyoza (5 dumplings which came with a fresh salad), vegetable fried rice and ebi tempura and avocado roll (8 pieces). We also got complimentary miso soup. The presentation of the food was wonderful, it tasted delicious and there was plenty of food for the two of us to share. It came to €17 after the 20% off opening week offer. Really like this place, have gotten takeaway on three occasions and have been impressed so far. Loses a star on some minor issues. Sushi is fresh and delicious (just wish they didn't use the pre-bought pink pickled ginger, more artificial/sweet tasting, may be personal preference but not nearly as nice as the freshly made white ginger I've gotten in many other sushi places). The chicken katsu curry is tasty but the serving of curry sauce should be more generous. The woman I've dealt with each time is super pleasant. It had been a while since we wanted to eat sushis, but our first experience with asian dinner to go in Dublin was pretty bad and since sushis are a delicate dish to realize (and by that I don't mean hard to cook, but the freshness of the fish is still really important, especially to me who's really obsessed with that after I had a food poisoning in Japan once... eww) So we wanted to order online but the restaurant being not too far away from home, we decided to take a walk and get it by ourselves. I was first a bit scared because the place is one of that bad sushi, looking a bit dirty or old from outside, be we were really craving for it so we got in. We ordered a salmon platter, salmon cream cheese and avocado maki, and egg roll sushi - I'm usually not a fan of this one, I think it's most of the time very tasteless, but my boyfriend likes it so I decided to give it a try -, we paid something like 27€ for this all, which is I think not really expensive for sushis. The fish in it was really fresh, I was actually impressed by it's freshness, it was really shiny, and not dry at all, the color was really nice... nothing to say about it's freshness. Even the egg roll were actually pretty good, not the best I've tried, but it had this little japan taste I couldn't describe, it was there ! Decided to try Sakura recently as it's very nearby and I'd passed it many times and kept meaning to sample! Joined by my friend and brother we ordered a few dishes between us on a Friday evening. The food took 1 hour and 15 mins to arrive which was annoying but they did sent some free minerals and extra miso soup along with our Order. I had the chicken bento box which was ok, I liked the California rolls but the terriyaki chicken was extremely tough and rubbery. I also had asparagus rolls (not sure of correct name now!) which were fresh and tasty and I shared chicken gyoza with the others and I really liked those too. My brother had the Sakura cha-Han with just chicken, no seafood and I thought that was very tasty but again with the bizarre rubbery chicken! Rolling in from a shoot at 10pm I was all set to eat the contents of my kitchen, which proved tough as the cupboards were bare! Take out was my only option at this late hour and I decided to try and be a bit good, and order a bento box from Sakura, and was glad I did. For a measely €9.90 I got a miso soup, one of the best I've had in Ireland, gyoza, veg tempura, salad and 4 pieces of sushi with a generous heaping of rice. I devoured everything, and next time will certainly order the gyoza as a full portion, it was a stand out, and came with a yummy sauce with hints of ginger, sesame and honey that I have not tried before. The wait for delivery was a bit long, but that was my only complaint, and I live so close I think next time I may just stroll down and pick it up. I have to say, I wasn't overly impressed with Sakura. It was fine, but it was just fine. We got a takeaway from Sakura on Monday night - I had the chicken bento, my aunt had the tetsuo age (breaded chicken in a honey soy sauce) and my mum had the spicy chicken ramen. The portions were a little odd - in the chicken bento, I had chicken teriyaki, and a lot of it, but the chicken was in thin strips and a little dry - I got the impression it had been prepared for a while before it was put in the sauce. The sushi was okay - it was crabsticks, which I wouldn't be a fan of, but that's personal taste. The side salad was nice, but the miso soup was lacking in flavour a little. The chicken gyoza, however, were lovely. My aunt's tetsuo age was the best main - it was like a chicken schnitzel sliced and sauced, and it was fresh tasting - it also came with a side of stir-fried veg, which was lovely. My mum's ramen was quite spicy as promised, but unfortunately it was a little bland, and the heat didn't make up for it. My mum and aunt split a pork gyoza, and they were perfect too. I would say my chicken teriyaki was perhaps a little stodgy, but as my aunt lives really close by there was a minute between collecting the food and it hitting the table, so it wasn't that it cooled in transit. Overall, I wasn't too impressed, but I wouldn't be dissuaded from trying it again. The staff were lovely and polite and I think we may have been the first customers of the evening, so perhaps the kitchen wasn't into the swing of things yet. Had a bite to eat in this new eatery last sunday evening. A SURPRISE to find a Japanese take away outside of the city I have to say and with main courses under a tenner great value too. Sushi and Ramen were the order of the day. we sat in to the restaurant (it delivers too) ... Starters For starters we got a spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll - lovely and fresh. Also a nigiri tuna on the side - very good and fresh. Main For mains we tried the beef and house ramen. Both were tasty with a slight smokey taste to the ramen miso which went down a treat. I think the house ramen was better value as came with chicken, fish and beef. the beef was slightly chewy in my dinning companions beef ramen but not a huge complaint as the ramen was delicious. overall Over all it really was delicious, healthy and good value. The service was very good and attentive even tho the place was hopping with delivery orders it was still attentive and relaxed. As a fan of Japanese food I can honestly recommend this place as prices are fantastic and quality is good. So put down the Chinese menu and get in there for a healthy takeaway alternative. It is very good and I *recommend the ramen* - further to the post below, take away service is now operating to from the looks of the busy driver, really hope it does well as Chinese and thai alternatives in the area are quiet poor in comparison read more

We are in Dublin for a long weekend and stumbled upon this great sushi place. Originally from Vancouver British Columbia we were spoiled for great sushi and since moving to the UK we haven't had sushi this good! The restaurant was clean and very comfortable, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, our food was promptly brought to the table and was very fresh and so tasty. We enjoyed crab cucumber and avocado rolls and salmon nigiri and everything was beautifully presented. Sakura is my go to sushi place but unfortunately the hot food is a whole other story. The 29 euro sushi platter is amazing I would definitely recommend it. I tried the curry once it was awful and my bf had the udon noodle soup which was way too over cooked. Since then we stick to the sushi and sashimi, cannot go wrong read more

Ordered here having seen such great reviews but unfortunately it was one of the worst take aways I've experienced in my 20 odd years in Dublin. I've delved deeper into these reviews and apparently while Sushi/Sashimi Sakura could easily be your go to place but my advice would be to steer clear of the hot offering. Not wanting to rant on but the chicken skewers were just that, skewers in a less than mediocre glaze(with no 'seven spicy' whatever that is), following this with the "Spicy Seafood Ramen", glad we ordered "Spicy" as I can't imagine how bland the regular would have been. It was basically a couple of prawns, a few over cooked calamari rings and waaay over cooked noodles in a mildly seasoned broth, disappointing from start to finish, well tbh I didn't even finish it which is a first for me. The Pork Dumplings were quite good but I can buy them frozen on Capel St and they will turn out as good. For me I would simply expect food to be better than I can make myself at home but having never cooked these dishes before I would be confident I could do better on a first attempt...sorry guys but a huge disappointment to my Saturday night! read more

I've ordered sushi from here a good few times and always been a bit disappointed. In my opinion they over cook their rice and it ends up a big mush. The fish is fresh and tasty so it's disappointing that it falls down on the rice. I'd also love if there was a brown rice option, I know it's not 'traditional' but it's nice to have healthier option sometimes. read more

I am delighted this place delivers to my area. The gyoza is great the udon is great, the ramen is REALLY great and the salmon teriyaki is delicious and the portion extremely generous. Their salads are very traditional and the katsu and tempura are crisp and fresh. If you're sick of the unhealthy delivery options you can NOT go wrong with Sakura Sushi. My boyfriend and I have ordered food from here many times. The quality of the food has almost always been good apart from two occasions. Today, however we had a very bad experience. He ordered a Wafu Salad and as usual requested the tofu be substituted with a little extra avocado. This has never been a problem and the salad has always been great. When the food arrived (almost an hour and a half after we ordered it) the salad comprised of some leaves and a bit of dressing. No avocado. Was still charged full price. He phoned up Sakura and very politely pointed out the situation. Did not demand anything and was very understanding. The two staff members on the other hand got very agitated and rude. Then they hung up mid conversation. We were all very irked by this. He contacted the Just-Eat help chat. The representative called the restaurant and said they were rude to him too. The Sakura staff insisted there was avocado. This is very silly - we have ordered from this restaurant so many times there is no earthly reason he would lie about a salad! There were also three of us there to witness the whole thing! Hate leaving poor reviews but this was just such an unpleasant experience. Especially when it is with a restaurant we have happily given our custom so many times. read more

dropped thier standards compared to before , i was a regular customer, but not going to be anymore, ordered from them and was missing some items which was stated on the menu, called them up guy who answered says they changed the menu months ago and they cant do anything about it but it still says that the item should come with the sides as stated on the online menu.... the sushi is not the same as before just half arsed by the looks of it was breaking up and just not done with care , the ramen which makes the bulk of our order normally isnt the same as before , wondering if this place is being run by different crowd now, wont be ordering for a while read more
