I have eaten here with my wife on several occasions... and normally we have a nice visit and a great meal. We haven't been out to eat in several months and decided to go out for dinner last night. We found this restaurant to be in a total state of chaos. The wait staff is completely incompetent, the food quality was pathetic, and the manager seems to be oblivious to anything that is happening in his restaurant. Let's address that one at a time...
1) The wait staff... the hostess had numerous open tables but couldn't seem to figure out where to place us... it took us 10 minutes to get a table when there were 5-6 of them OPEN. Once we were seated, it took 10 more minutes just to get water. We placed our complete order at this same time. It was not a complex order. We ordered several items off of the happy hour menu (dumplings, soy beans, sushi, tempura veggies, and calamari)... and my wife ordered chicken hibachi. We got all of the food at weird intervals... like we got the sushi first (this usually takes longer than steamed soy beans, but we got those mid meal). The veggies came out next and they were REALLY greasy... and the grease had a funny taste to it ( I would later regret eating this because I got SICK as soon as we got home).
The waitress clearly wasn't on top of her tables or her tickets... our food kept coming out in intervals, and not in any sort of expected order. We had our check before we finished getting appetizers and we had been there for an hour. During this hour we might have gotten ONE refill on our water. Gee, thanks for all the effort. The waitress had 4 tables. FOUR... and couldn't' handle that work load. That is ridiculous.
2) The food quality... I ordered a spider roll... what I got was HALF of a spider roll. I had it eaten before we saw our waitress again, when she finally brought the plates and the little sauce bowl for my sushi. I guess it's a good thing i don't like soy sauce with my sushi. The veggie tempura (which I'm positive is what made me sick) was over cooked... REALLY greasy... and I believe they hadn't changed the oil in the fryers for a while because the oil had an odd consistency to it like it was old and over heated. If you've ever used a deep fryer you know what I'm talking about. The dumplings were cold, the calamari NEVER CAME (until we were ready to leave). The ONLY thing that was done properly was the hibachi. The chicken was great and the fired rice was also.
3) The manager came by our table AFTER all of the calamity of this waitress and his kitchen totally screwing up our meal... and all he could say was "sorry". Not, let me make it up to you, or give us another try... he apparently knows his restaurant has gone to shit and just doesn't care.
Lastly... I have a "cast iron stomach". Ask anyone who has seen me eat. I can eat anything. Well... the food at this restaurant made me violently ill, and I threw up from the time we got home (about 7:30) until 1:30 in the morning. Then it started out the other end the next day. I am fairly certain I got food poisoning. My wife was fine so it was either the veggie tempura, the dumplings, or the sushi (she didn't have any of those).
